They don't have a front desk/checking area but a trainer welcomes you right away since they seem to know everyone's names. This is the place to go if crossfit is your thing!

I met every goal I set out to achieve and it honestly changed my life. I have been working out consistently for the past 13 years, however after leaving corporate to start my own company in mid-2017 my health routine fell off completely. By the time I was recommended to see Andy at Core Fitness, I was 20 pounds over my normal weight, had several injuries and felt like complete shit in general. The gym is dog friendly which is really awesome and it seems like they've done a good job building a community. Parking is generous and pretty hassle free (considering it's downtown miami!) The not-so-good: In my 3 weeks there I took various classes with 4 different coaches. 2 of them were very professional the other two spent an alarming amount of time scrolling through their phones while providing very little coaching (other than reading the work out). I saw a LOT of people performing lifts poorly (Dangerously) but no efforts were made to correct it. Yikes. The facilities need love. The ladies restroom was always a little gross. Dirty toilet bowl. Leak marks on the ceiling. Doors to restrooms have to be left open due to poor ventilation (i guess). For $175/mo I just don't see the value in the service or facility.

The coaches attentive to their athletes and I feel as the box has a close family orientated feel. Different personalities, body types, and athletic levels make the exercises really fun here. This box has rules and I like that. Workouts start on time and everything is very organized from the beginning to the end of the workout. This is very much appreciated with all of the uncertainty going on. The owners run this box professionally and put a lot of time into what they do and it shows. ISI Elite is the truth when it comes to working out. Trust me when I say that it is one of the…read moretoughest and friendliest places to exercise. They have franchise locations in other states and began opening Florida locations this year, with Miami being in the works since February 2022. They offered free outdoor workouts from then until the end of September for people who signed up for an early bird membership, so my spring and summer fitness were shaped by them. They have a covered concrete courtyard right outside of their now opened studio, where they set up workout stations with dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells, medicine balls, even assault bikes. They had workouts in Margaret Pace Park nearby on some days as well. They offered so many workouts, in the evenings on weekdays and in the morning on weekends, that there was no way you could say you can't make it. The same flexibility applies to their studio schedule. I've been going to their 6:15 am weekday workouts, which are perfect for my work schedule, and their weekend workouts at 9 am and 10:15 am. They even have a 5 am workout for the crazies and evening workouts running to 7:30 pm. So what makes this gym different from the countless other ones, you ask? I can give you three reasons. 1. The workouts are intense. I won't sugarcoat it. You will do a certain number of burpees every time you're there. Some may even be during the warmup. It's not the only thing you'll do because you'll do a lot of things. You'll lift, push, pull, thrust, jump/step, and do it again. What I think creates the intensity is that after the warmup, the trainer shows you all of the movements in each station, but they'll tell you to do a round of body weight movements in between explanations of each station. You may watch the trainer demonstrate a side step over a riser, then tell you to do some skaters right afterwards. So you're warmed up, then stay very warm as you're being told what to do in each station. Then you get to do the workout, then a finisher. A finisher?! Yes, 2-3 minutes of core work, squat jumps and holds or other body cardio. I promise all of this work has its benefits. I know I started lifting heavier weights with them because there straight up weren't enough lighter weights available. But that and the repetition of the rounds helped me get stronger and support my losing weight, despite the degenerate eating and drinking I do as a Yelper. 2. The trainers are organized, knowledgeable, attentive and motivating. I've worked out with Coaches Wanderson and Kevin at other gyms and have seen how meticulous they are with regards to technique and attention to clients to make sure they have the correct form and aren't risking injury. Coaches Shay and Phil are also energetic, fun and really helpful. I forget where I am and crack up when I see Shay twerking. 3. The gym has been working really hard to create a sense of community amongst its members. Every workout includes reminders to high five your station mates when you've finished the round or workout, and they've organized several social events to get members and trainers to bond outside of the gym. (Phil's birthday at The Sylvester was one for the books!) The staff send personal texts for promotions and events encouraging people to continue coming and be involved. I would totally have an unlimited membership here if I lived in the Edgewater/Wynwood area! I'll just have to deal with getting a package to use here and there. They offer a 7 day free trial that you don't have to use in one week! Try them out!

They also have screens at the top so you can see the exercises that you are supposed to be doing. Coaches will also explain the moves and check what everyone is doing throughout the class. There is one good size bathroom with a shower and they provide towels. Staff is nice and welcoming and they keep the place clean and organized. There are usually a few more people training who are not part of the class but since classes have been on the smaller side it hasn't felt that crowded. I would like to go back and try their upper body classes.

I have very bad knees and working out with him I have been able to do exercises I never thought I could without any pain. He also designed workouts to help me get lean without the bulk.
