Great - as always!…read more I've been coming to 1890 Marketplace for 5 years, tasting oils, vinegars and seasonings. I never walk away empty handed either. I love to make vinaigrette salad dressings and this is the place to shop in Parker and Hood counties for everything you need to make great salad dressings. We've recently moved from Weatherford to Mansfield. We'd run out of my everyday go-to spice, Organic, Salt-free, Garlic and Herb seasoning. We had an errand back in Weatherford and popped down to Granbury afterwards to restock. Got to chatting with the Manager (she manages all 3 Marketplace locations) and learned that there's a store in Mansfield! What?! That's going to work out perfect for us going forward. Thanks 1890 Marketplace for having such a great selection of oils, vinegars and seasonings! See you in Mansfield next time.

So Christmas is fast arriving, and that means it's gift buying season. One of our favorite gifts to…read moregive, to our family and friends not fortunate to live in Texas, is Texas olive oil. We have seen in the grocery stores, but were looking for something more interesting, more personal. Thuy remembered 1890 Marketplace, a place we have walked past many times. So we head there to see what they have. So yes, 1890 Marketplace has olive oil, lots of olive. All in gleaning silver canisters, ready for dispensing, or tasting. I was not prepared for the flavor options in olive oil. We tasted several, and settled on the following; Persian Lime, Garlic, Tuscan Herb, Wild Mushroom and sage. We also tasted several of the balsamic vinegars, in the same silver dispensers. On these we picked; Espresso Balsamic, Dark Chocolate Balsamic, Vermont Maple Balsamic and Neopolitan Balsamic. At checkout, we learned it's "Buy 7 Get 1 Free"! This review would not be complete without saying how helpful Kaitlin was. She was very helpful and made suggestions we would not have thought of. Thank you! So in the store are also spices and gourmet items. So I you are looking for tasty gifts, this is your place. So you might be wondering why not 5 stars? Well were disappointed that this was not Texas olive oil. The olive oil comes from California. Nothing wrong with that, but with all the olive oil options, something closer to home would have been nice.

We bought some New York steaks to grill and hands down those were the best steaks I've had. I love buying local so whether you live in the Granbury "metro" area or are passing thru, and you're looking for good steaks (and they have a lot of other stuff too!), look no further. The location is non-descriptive, right next to a gas station in a small store front. Don't let it fool you. Mike, the meat man, was very friendly, the customer service is friendly and down home. I'll look forward to brining some Texas beef with me back to Alaska, thank you for providing excellent, quality beef!

I…read moretypically wouldn't give this place a bad review because their beef and other choices are great. I'm giving them a bad review for after hours deer processing. I dropped off a neatly quartered deer a few years ago and gave them a cut sheet, nearly a straight cut and super simple. None of the silver skin was trimmed, they completely did their own thing against my cut sheet, and I didn't receive hardly anything I actually asked for besides the ground burger. At that, the burger was full of silver skin and wouldn't pack. I was also charged $2.50/lb which is about 100% more than any local processor... total cost was $280... pretty expensive dog food. I was expecting top line cuts which I was excited about. Extreme let down. Do not make the same mistake I did! Take your deer to a local processor or do it yourself if you can. Not a knock against their normal product, just a warning if you ever considered dropping your deer off for "premium" processing.

For lunch, the Reuben sandwich is hands-down one of the best I've ever had. The corned beef is incredibly tender (they pressure-cook it for hours), piled high on perfect rye with just the right amount of sauerkraut, Swiss, and dressing. It's huge and flavorful, definitely order it! For dinner, we love the Oma's Meatballs served over spätzle and topped with that rich Jäger gravy. So comforting, hearty, and packed with flavor. We've also tried their short ribs during a special brunch offering and they were fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious. Everything we've ordered--whether schnitzel, brats, pretzels, or sides has been excellent. The atmosphere is so fun and immersive with the German decor, great beer selection, and friendly service every time. We've brought friends, family, and out-of-town company here multiple times, and everyone has raved about their meal. It's become our go-to spot for hosting visitors reliable, generous portions, and always a wonderful experience. If you're in Granbury, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You won't regret it.
