It's nice, and not on a main road. However, It's very small and doesn't really allow more than 1 dog, of any size, to run around. It might be good for very small dogs in groups, but for my 2 girls (one being 45 lbs and the other 80 lbs), this is not more than a convenient bathroom stop. It's also by some train tracks, so that concerns me. Especially if there are people getting off or on the train and are not dog fans. I would be concerned about my girls getting hurt by these people if I wasn't there to monitor them the whole time.

The Downtown Dog Park is the urban solution for our city dogs! Pet people are the best people...and this dog park creates such community for dog owners and our furry friends. Every person I have met at this dog park continues to be friendly and talkative, and his or her dogs aren't so bad either! The other pet owners are very responsible and I've never seen any dogs here that don't play well with others. The dog park itself is pretty simple, but is very spacious and inviting. With peat gravel, a double fence and agility play areas; the Dog Park offers solutions for dogs to play on and off the leash safely. PUP (pick up poop) bags are provided throughout and the park is situated against the picturesque backdrop of the river and the Flats. Because the park is in an urban environment, remember to bring your own water, since there isn't a direct water source. You can also take your dog for a walk around any of the surrounding multi-purpose trails, and this area is particularly gorgeous as the sun is setting. Pro tip: The Downtown Cleveland Alliance City Advocates do an excellent job of programming the Dog Park with pet costume contests, get-togethers, and other dog celebrations in the park. Follow them on Twitter (@dtcledogpark) to keep tabs on the fun and to join this awesome community of people!

Finally, a dog sanctuary in downtown CLE! The park is located behind Settlers Landing Station along West 10th, almost directly below the Detroit-Superior Bridge, overlooking the river. Nearby, there is a multipurpose trail, so you can go for a walk/bike ride with your dog before or after. I've only ever walked here, so I'm not 100% sure about all of the parking options, but I do know that there is street parking on West 10th. The dog park ground is composed of gravel. Fences are standard height (I'm guessing here, but probably around 4 1/2 to 5 feet). There is a double gate when you arrive, so you have the opportunity to unleash/leash your dog without the chance for escape or other excited dogs bombarding your entrance. They have a small dog ramp in the middle of the park and 4 small benches for the humans to rest on. They store dog waste bags here, but I am always sure to bring a few extra, just in case they are out of stock. While it is not the biggest dog park I have ever been to, it is enough space for my dog (lab mix) to chase a ball and get a good bit of exercise in. And it is a super convenient park for anyone who lives in or near downtown. Your dog will definitely be giving you extra kisses and hugs after you visit here! :)

Sunny day = dog park day!

Dog park in downtown Cleveland? Yes please! Although it's on the smaller side, it's perfect for downtown. I live within walking distance and love bringing my pup over here. I've gone during the day on the weekends, and have never seen more than two other dogs, so I wonder how often people use it. I have an older dog that likes to sleep more than run, but think it's great for bigger dogs or ones that are more energetic than my lap dog :)

Fantastic dog park downtown Cleveland. I read another post on here that said the park is small and cannot fit more than one large dog. Not true at all! It was great! I have a 75lb lab and she had a ball. We had a great time! We will absolutely be back and bring our buddies. If your coming from out of town Cleveland is a very dog friendly town and this is a great place to let them run and then grab a beer!!

My little doggy enjoying the Doggy event!!

This place is so inclusive to all different sizes and breeds of dogs. The staff was so amazing they're always engaged, keeping an eye on the dogs, stepping in when needed, and cleaning up after each pup as they leave. I've also attended a couple of their special events, most notably their Minis and Mimosas party! It was perfect for small‑dog owners who might feel anxious about their pups being around much larger dog - and my old morkie loved it! As a bonus too, there is a bar for human visitors! I loved getting to know other dog owners and socialize with the community.

On our first visit, instead of simply asking for IDs, staff pulled our mothers aside and questioned them to "prove" our age. It was unnecessary and uncomfortable. We gave it another chance, but the second visit was worse. In front of a crowd we were told we "look like 10 year olds," then met with glares and a cold demand for IDs. Even after showing them, we felt stared at until we decided to leave. I respect the need to verify age, but this could have been handled professionally with a simple ID check at the door. The concept of this facility is great, but the approach left us feeling unwelcome.

In fact, they even have a special receptacle bin for the poos, which I only know because my boyfriend almost disposed of a baggie in the wrong one. This makes me think that they have a special way to dispose of the waste, which can cause toxic runoff in our water. I appreciate that! This was actually the first dog park I've ever been to, and now that I've experienced a few I decided that I really like this one. It's not the biggest, or the most glamorous, but it's got plenty of open space for running. There are toys, water bowls, hand sanitizer and a separate area for small dogs. Archie walked in and immediately made a friend with what seemed like a breed of sheep dog. What I loved about this park was that it wasn't packed with folks who were sitting on benches with their coffee and not watching their canines. Tremont seems to attract owners who want to interact with their dogs and play with them while they're here. Since this was my first doggie park experience, I was a little worried about Archie running off or misbehaving with other dogs. The owner of the sheep dog quickly informed me that he wouldn't get out and to relax and let 'em all play. Great advice. One thing I could do without is feeling like I'm playing next to a radioactive power plant. I kept thinking I was going to leave here and develop a third eye from the toxic waves. Not a great view. I also wouldn't come down here alone at dusk, but during the day I don't think that would be a problem. Lastly, we didn't bring my boyfriend's son with us this time around, but we plan on it next time. There is a huge playground right next door for kids and since I know he'd get bored in the dog park within 10 mins, it would be a perfect situation for an energetic 6yr old.

Has many stairs that you have to carefully use to get to the beach. It often is very slippery. The waves make things wet. It isn't much of a beach. This is pretty rocky. Swimming is allowed. The water is very dangerous looking. It's not a place for amateurs. This also isn't just a dog park. It's okay for people to hang out at. They have a few tables at the entrance before stairs. It can be hard to get here. Parking lot is across the street. The park is like someone's back yard and there's many locals who seem to like to be here whenever.

Still by far my favorite not-an-official-dog-park place to take my pup in the summer!…read more I'm almost certain this private beach is run by dog-lovers since no one cares that there are 15-20 pooches running up and down the beach at any given moment. Again, owners are typically very responsible with poos and leashing. Just keep in mind that since this isn't officially a doggie beach, dog-less folks also love to come here just to relax. Be mindful. As a person with a small/medium sized pup, I appreciate that most folks who aren't 100% sure about their bully-breed dogs keep them leashed, just in case. I mean, this place has a dozen of pooches running up and down the beach at any given moment AND there are lots of kids--it's just considerate, even if it's not necessary. I love the mutual respect folks have for one another here and that it's a little, secret paradise humans can bring their best furry friends to enjoy! Bring water, poop bags (although they have some upstairs) and a towel to lay on. Later in the fall months the sand washes away and it's much rockier, but in the early/mid summer months the sand is plentiful.
