I am writing to formally document my experience and express my concerns regarding the dental treatment I received from Dr. Rita Daragobian at Downtown Dental between mid-2022 and mid-2025. During my three years as a patient under Delta Care insurance, I experienced several issues that have caused me significant distress and long-lasting pain: - Molar Extractions: Despite my initial request for a referral to a specialist, Dr. Daragobian performed two molar extractions herself. I believe the aggressive technique used and an apparent overfilling of bone graft material resulted in three months of severe pain before the tissue could properly heal. - Lack of Proper Care: I was concerned that no anesthesia was provided during certain procedures. Additionally, my gums were drilled during treatment, which caused further lasting pain. - Inadequate Cleanings: During several scheduled cleaning appointments, at times only polishing was performed. This lack of thorough cleaning led to significant tartar build-up over time. - Secondary Damage: I believe that hasty adjustments made to a new crown and the aggressive nature of the extractions caused two adjacent crowns to disintegrate roughly a year later. While I appreciated the professional atmosphere of the office and the personal kindness of the staff, the clinical results and the physical pain I endured were unacceptable. I ultimately realized that these extractions and the subsequent loss of crowns may have been avoidable with different care. They price gouge their clients. Dentist is super heavy handed, rough and doesn't really numb you fully and correctly. PLEASE CHECK THE PRICING THEY GIVE YOU. My mom should've only paid $320 out of pocket with insurance and they tried to gouge her for almost $3000 . And when confronted they straight up lied to my face about the "codes" Not trustable. Front desk lady has pink eye which is disgusting and contagious thank GOD she wasn't working on my moms mouth. They care more about their appearance and making money more than taking care of their clients. read more

She presents it as "cosmetic" when really it could be done through your insurance benefits but then her compensation is limited. $$ beware ! also the lab that she uses seems to present or provide very poor quality! I visited her clinic one time and I experienced below. This review for Dr. Rita. 1. Dr. Rita Deragobian is so rude. They don't care and listen your problems. 2. Dr. Rita works in Downtown Dental and few places and has bad reviews (by Sally, Lauren, Rita etc) form clients in google and Yelp. 3. Dr. Rita did not followed basic hand washing rules after she check previous client. she directly touched to my tooth after another patient. I doubted they clean the station and tools. 4. After I visit the dental I asked Dr. Rita one question and she refused to answer. 6. Next business day I learn from the Manager, they already removed my insurance and record from the Dental place. 7. They have waisted my time and money. There are a lot of good Dental care with good Doctors and staffs. Please don't go to the Doctor. 8. After I shared this experience to few friends, two friends told me that they have same bad experience from same Dr. Rita. I wish I knew before my visit. read more

Not only was this dentist kind and incredibly accommodating but they saved me from getting thousands of dollars of dental work I didn't need! I am SO THANKFUL that I found them today. My fiancé has already changed to this dental office too. Here's the full story... I went to another local dentist who told me I needed two crowns and one filling. They used scare tactics to try to convince me that a special crown (not covered by my insurance) was the only healthy option! They were so adamant about it that they refused to offer the normal (affordable) crown options. It was going to cost me over $2,000 out of pocket! You can read the full story about them in my review to their office, but let keep this one about downtown dentals heroic actions today! I called my insurance and got switched to Downtown Dental today. I went into their office in person and caught them in the middle of their lunch time. I told them that, if possible, I'd like to be seen today or tomorrow since they are my last couple days off this month. Around 3:30 today I heard back from them. There had been some issue with my insurance (due to the switch of offices) but they were going to help me sort it out and let me come in right away to be seen today! When the doctor looked at my teeth she did not think I needed crowns at all! She said the old fillings just needed to be replaced. She agreed to take X-ray for free to confirm (since the old office already did and insurance won't pay twice). Turns out I didn't even need the crowns the other dentist was trying to sell me in the first place!! Downtown dental saved me from thousands of dollars in unnecessary dental work today, and they did it all with kindness and great customer service skills. Thank you downtown dental! This was our first visit with Dr. Rita Deragobian. She was not only extremely nice, but she didn't make me feel rushed like most doctors/dentists. She and the hygienist were extremely gentle. It was easy to get appointments for cleanings (less than a week out for us). Plus, they were able to schedule both my husband and I for cleanings at the same time. I was looking for a new dentist after being at the same dental group for 50 years. Tried another one in San Dimas, and was totally dissatisfied. I saw good reviews forDowntown Dental, so gave them a call. They scheduled a Appointment for me to meet my schedule. So today I went in, not fancy but very clean and the front staff so friendly. They have a new dentist Dr. Sharon Gabriel, was I impressed at how through and interested in me, my health and history. If my other visits go as good as this one, I will have a new dentist for another 50 years. By the way, no pressure or trying to sell you on procedures that are not needed. I made a cleaning appointment 2 months back and 5 days before the appointment they phoned to cancel, and told me to find another Dentist without an explanation why. I had only seen this Dentist once for a cleaning and was told to make another appointment for a 6 month checkup and cleaning. I would not recommend this Dentist. I haven't been to a dentist since I was a teenager. I have had so many bad experiences growing up when my dad used to take me. I remember the pain I used to feel because the doctor wouldn't Numb me enough and because of that I stop seeing dentist besides the fact that most are really expensive if you don't have insurance. After my first visit I felt like I found my forever dentist. The front desk staff was nice I only remember Nicole's name as well as Dr. Rita ,but there was also a sweet blonde lady I don't remember her name :( to add it ,but they really helped me work out my plan due to the fact my Insurance has a max of $2000 a year. I was able to take care of the most important things for the year and I'm waiting till next year to start on the less important things but the things that will make me feel better about my smile and my dental health. I don't understand why there's so many bad ratings. I was worried walking into this place after reading the reviews but it seems like they're all bogus because these people are nothing but sweet and care about their job and your dental health and understand when clients are on a budget because their insurance doesn't cover much they will work with you , but they cannot work with you unless you are clear about your needs. I highly recommend this place will be back this week for them to restore my crown. read more

Dr. Cordar and her staff have been great. No only is the service professional, but I can never understand the billings between what insurance will cover and what I must pay for. They work to help me understand the payments without any surprises after services are completed. My daughter has been avoiding the dentist for a couple of years and finally went to see her.
