While their kitchen closes at ten, the owner was extremely nice and opened the kitchen back up for us. We got some chicharrones de pollo with carne frita, tostones and papas fritas. The chicharrones de pollo is literally chicken thats chopped up and deep fried, and it was delicious with the mayoketchup sauce. the pickled red onions gave the dish overall some nice acidity as well. Very worthwhile as our first 'street eats' experience in PR.

It got crowded quickly, but we still had plenty of room to dance. Drinks were cheap (we stuck with rum and Coke), and they do offer food, but some of the things we ordered took a while. We ordered a few things: - virgin pina colada (5/5): hit the spot and was so so good - mahi mahi topped fried plantains (4.5/5): this was delicious and had an accompaniment of some of the spiciest salsa. I loved the salsa and all the toppings -shrimp tacos (6/5): these are the most unique tacos I've had. The flour tortillas are crusted with Parmesan cheese and filled with the best marinated and grilled shrimp I ever had. Everything in this is packed with flavor and is an absolute winner - steak and shrimp stuffed avocado (5/5): this is the largest avocado you will ever find and everything works so well together - ceviche with avocado (5/5): perfectly marinated fish ceviche with almost too much avocado Service was pretty quick and the waitress was very helpful and friendly

AMBIANCE You're in the city so it's an eventful area. There's street parking and nearby lots but your best to carpool or rideshare. As for the vibes, I'm told in the daytime it's a local marketplace that's filled with vendors and other fresh produce booths. It's pretty chill with a nice neighborhood feel. As for the evening, this is where to turn up and get a pulse of Puerto Rico parties. EXPERIENCE Go to your bar, pick your vibe from community, club excessive, lounge feel, live music or etc. Drink choices rangeThey have it here! Plenty of photo op spots and good energy. I was here peak of the #DTMF era so it was magical to see people come together with a speaker and a cowbell. A local put into perspective how this was way better than paying for an expensive hotel party. It was truly a 1 of 1 experience. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. It doesn't get any better. There's a reason why this space is dropped in lyrics and people's recommendations because this is the heart of the people. So don't be shy! Grab a drink, walk around, catch a dance, and be safe! TIPS: * Don't just settle for one spot. Be sure to explore around to experience the entire Santurce experience!

Review #1,047 Posted on 4.26.26…read more We came to La Placita on Thursday the 23rd, when in town to celebrate my buddies 50th birthday. I guess this was purposefully done as I've heard it's nuts here on Fridays & Saturdays. When you get dropped off at the main road when you walk down it takes you to all the action in a few hundred feet. This place was still packed, but it was popping, the place to be at night I'd guess. They've got all JJ da of restaurants, bars, & clubs here. Tons of music, & a good time.

It's beautifully decorated, and the whole atmosphere feels posh and a bit Bridgerton-like. For a moment you really feel like you're in Paris, my friend. However, the service time left room for improvement. It took over half an hour to receive something as simple as an açaí bowl--something that should likely be prepped ahead of time with garnishes added when ordered. That said, I ordered the Pistachino--an iced pistachio cappuccino--and the presentation was absolutely stunning (see photo). It arrived quickly and was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Truly delightful. While the ambiance and drinks are wonderful, the long wait for a simple dish is something to keep in mind. I still highly recommend the spot and fully plan to return. Next time, though, I will emphasize to the waitstaff that I may need quicker service to accommodate my schedule. Otherwise, come with time to spare and enjoy the experience. From what I could see around the room, many guests were celebrating special occasions, and the venue clearly caters to that kind of moment. There are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities, and the space itself is comfortable and enjoyable. Overall rating: 4 out of 5. I liked it and will return--just remember that this is the kind of place where you'll want to relax and take your time. NOTE: free valet parking available!!! Huge plus.
