I'm kind of mixed about the layout of this gym. I think they have literally every kind of Hammer…read moreStrength and Cybex machines ever made in the main gym area. What I really don't like, though, is how they crammed all the free weights in the small nook in the back. It's just way too crowded in there. It would've been nice to co-locate those with the bench presses. The multipurpose/spin room on the second floor is nice and offers various ways to connect your ipod or P90X/Insanity videos in their DVD player. I wish they'd have more of the kettle bells though. They offer a few classes here but they seem to be at times that aren't really when people can work out. There are 2 basketball/volleyball courts on the opposite end of the weight room and they're pretty nice but they're always being used so try to reserve gym time after 7pm which is when you're able to reserve the courts. I haven't really made it out to the annex hangar but I did peek in and noticed a cross-fit kind of rig with rings to hang from. I need to try working out with those one of these days just to check it out. There's also an indoor track there where you can run like 12 laps to do the PT test (1.5mi). Its got some kind of rubber padding, but kind of ghetto. Bottom line: The gym has more workout machines you can imagine, but I never use any of them and I think a lot are kind of a waste of space that can be used for free weights. Some of the rooms lack good ventilation but overall, it's a decent place to work out.

The first time his home health care worker took him they said he couldn't get in unless he could go down the stairs so he had to come home which discouraged him. I spoke to the director who assured me again that they had brand new lift to use and the employee didn't know what they are talking about. So I finally got my dad to agree to go a week or 2 later. They showed me what I'd need to do to use the lift which is fine. My dad just was not comfortable at all in the water. I had already paid $104 for the sign up and monthly fee. I called them to cancel on 8/31 and received no answer. I called again on 9/1 which they were closed. Finally talked to them on 9/2 telling them to cancel and that I had been calling. They told me to cancel online and I did immediately. I called again to ensure I DID NOT get charged yet again. The gentleman told me he saw the cancellation request and would follow up on it and ensure it was done. Just saw my CC statement and I was charged on 9/8/25 for some strange reason which prompted me to look at my dads account and his acct is Still active. So to recap, $154 so far for one successful visit and they will try to charge again on 10/1/25 since he is still active. I DEFINITELY would not recommend this place.

Note that you do need to get a swim test for the kids if they want to go on the larger slides. Fun times had by all, we love the Y!

Kyle uses a curriculum and repeats the lessons so you have a chance to assimilate the knowledge and learn the fundamentals, and this would be a great place for beginners of all ages. This Y is the home of the Montgomery Barracuda Swim Team. This Y is also home to an after school program between 3-5:30pm Weekdays. If you want to shoot hoops their court is usually not crowded. The bathrooms are in desperate need of a remodel and I wish they had a steam room or sauna like some of the other Y's. The front desk staff is pleasant, which makes up for most of the other short comings.
