At 1st I thought it was the water pump. I was kinda broke and wasn't looking forward to a big repair bill. Monro Muffler gave me an estimate of nearly 500 bucks to replace the water pump. I went to Fulmer's and young mechanic helped me get my truck from off the side of the road into their garage. I asked him to double check it was the water pump and I was wrong....thank you God! He told me i needed to replace the belt and the idler pulleys. Much, Much cheaper then a water pump. They even let me go to the local advance auto parts and buy my own parts so they didn't have to mark up everything. They fixed my truck, good as new and saved me a ton of me. I checked all my tires and at first all of them looked good, the TPMS in the Honda CRV 2016 EXL, only lights up and lets you know there is a loss of pressure from the tires. I started by checking the pressure with my tire gauge for all 4 tires, eventually finding the culprit to be my rear right passenger tire with a 2 inch screw which was actually not all the way into the tire. Oddly, i was on my way from Binghamton University and I had previously check my tires the day before. Anytime I take a trip that is greater than 100 miles, i always do a visual inspection of the tires and I also recalibrate the air pressure to maximize my MPG. So finding a screw embedded in the tire was upsetting but clearly unavoidable. When i got out at exit 84 off 17 East, i made a run to the gas station but they do not repair flats, instead my wife looked up a Napa Auto parts store and I walked in to ask if they could help. The attendant at the store sent me down the block to a repair shop and they were able to plug the tire without even taking the tire out. It took about 15 minutes as they removed the screw, the repair person showed it to me and he immediately plugged the tire as I watch. I paid him $20, as I paid cash! Greatly appreciated that they help me and that it was a quick fix. They were quick, friendly and efficient.

First off they had my car on the lift for over an hour before they even pulled the front and rear wheels off. Then I saw the manager talking to the mechanic. Seems like they were colluding as to what to tell me to get a repair that I knew I wouldn't need because the GM dealer had recently gone through the entire vehicle within the last 300 miles. They failed my mechanical inspection BECAUSE THEY SAID THERE WAS RUST ON THE EDGES OF THE REAR ROTORS! I told the manager that the brake pads don't even hit that surface edge and he was insistent that they do. Sorry but I've changed rotors and pads on brakes for 50 years and brake pads do not cover the entire surface of the rotor which leaves an edge to rust slightly. The mechanic also told me the car was out of alignment and needed to be fixed. WHAT??!!! Since when does any shop check alignments for inspections? So they would not pass my mechanical but did pass my emissions. I then traveled back up to Sayre PA to that Mavis shop where they confirmed that there was no issue with the brakes. So if that manager tried to convince a knowledgeable man that I should replace the rotors when they were perfectly fine just think of what they tell people that don't know how to check what they are telling them! Go to another shop or or drive up to Sayre PA Mavis where you will receive HONEST and professional service.
