Someone has to write the first review for Downtown Arlington.. Aren't y'all happy it's ME?! I've been an Arlington local since 2005, really. That's when I started college at UTA. Graduated in 2009, went to grad school and got my first full-time job at the university, graduated again in 2011, continued working at the school, got another job, bought a house... all centered around Downtown Arlington. I know this place through and through. There aren't any skyscrapers and there's no public transportation (what the hell is that about), but it's still the entertainment district of DFW. The Cowboys AT&T stadium is not in Dallas and never was (used to be in Irving), the Texas Rangers stadium, the original Six Flags over Texas. Arlington Music Hall, the enormous George Hawkes Library, Theater Arlington, The Arlington Museum of Art, Levitt Pavilion, and all kinds of art studios and spaces. Iconic foodie spots like Babe's Chicken Dinner House, J. Gilligan's, The Candlelight Inn, Old School Pizza Tavern, and Hurtado Barbecue. The Sanford House Inn & Spa! Hive Daytime Eatery and Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery. A little bit of everything, right in the middle of DFW. read more
