Latte and cappuccino

Staying in the apartment above this coffee shop, so we have these everyday. Can also attest to the deliciousness of the chocolate cherry scone

Cappuccino and cortado

Incredible barista, baker, and checkout experience. They hit the mark in every area. You will not be disappointed. Got the sour and chive scone and blueberry muffin. They were so good we went back and got two more scones. The maple spice syrup is delicious and perfect for fall. Got it in a cappuccino and my boyfriend got a cortado. Both great. Aesthetic. Perfect.

Coffee was great. However, Bit of an attitude from the girl being the counter because I brought my dog in. Despite it being a service dog. She never asked. She just assumed and told me "no dogs allowed" then told me to leave and she would bring coffee out. Honey cake was delish. First time trying that. Apparently, it is a thing here.

The Hoot - Corned beef and Hash with Eggs

The Hoot

Service, ambiance and food 5 stars. We recently had a…read morefabulous Middle Eastern dinner. Ordered the lamb with Orzo... mouth watering with incredible taste snd texture, falafel (Best ever and as a New Yorker of the Jewish persuasion I've eaten a lot of falafel) was incredibly moist. The accoutrements that went with it were outstanding and tasty as well. The three of us shared those two entrées as well as the beet salad which was scrumptious. The cocktails were fabulous... We enjoyed the margaritas which were fruity, flavorful and refreshing . For dessert, we shared the chocolate Babka . Don't tell my Bubbie that it was even better than hers. The only disappointment is that they close for the season, and that's what makes the place extra special for us . See you next year !

The Hoot continues its long tradition of inconsistent food and service…read more We arrived without reservation , the dining room was half full. We were seated promptly and waited 45 minutes for our food. I wouldn't object completely to the long wait , but the food that arrived was lackluster , and barely worth a mention here. I had eggs Benedict , eggs were overcooked and cold. My partner ordered the shasuka. This was an odd presentation with the eggs and sauce in a broiler dish , with pita bread and spinach on the side. I always assumed eggs and spinach , and sauce should all be together. Like so many restaurants I encounter in Maine , it's not that the food or service is that bad, but rather the fact that with minimal effort , it could be so much better.

Owen’s General Store - Wood-Fired Pizza

Owen’s General Store

Owen's General Store in Lincolnville is anything but your typical general store. It's a little gem…read morefull of character and small-town charm. The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!

Young's Lobster Pound and Seafood Restaurant - 1 1 - 1/4 Lb Lobster Dinner

Young's Lobster Pound and Seafood Restaurant

I have looked for an excuse my entire life to travel the Maine simply to eat lobster that was fresh…read morecaught on the coast. Over five days, we tried six different seafood restaurants in the hunt for the best lobster roll in Maine. The finale was at Young's lobster Pound and they did not disappoint. We had both fresh caught and boiled lobster, it was cooked well and a great experience. The more important part of our stop was the lobster roll, it was the best traditional main lobster roll we had on our trip. The amount of lobster was above average, the tenderness of the lobster on the roll was perfect, there was only a light bit of mayo on the roll and warm butter was poured over the mountain of lobster. This did not have your traditional type role, they did it on a toasted and butter round type bun, this had me a bit curious as to why, after eating, I realized it was so you could manage the massive amount of lobster they portion. The second bonus about the stop was we were able to take pictures and enjoy the scenery with no crowd as we were here at the beginning of May and very early in the morning. I imagine if you come during peak season, you will be waiting for long periods of time, if not hours as the workers reported how busy they as the weather warms up. Excellent food and experience. Would definitely go out of our way again to visit.

I ordered a bowl and cup of lobster stew, paid, and waited in my car as instructed. The lobster stew was brought out to me. A simple flavorful, traditional lobster stew broth with chunks and chunks of delectable lobster. My goodness! Divine. I can only imagine how marvelous it must be to dine here in the warmer months, outside on picnic tables with a most spectacular view! I hope to get to do that!
