Just going through the motions. I tried some light banter, but he was unresponsive and silent. . Work was done quickly, but was not cut properly and as I mentioned it, again, dead-silence. The mat was not cut large enough, even though he precisely measured. It floated around the inside of the frame; not a tight fit. I decided to just take it as it was hidden from the front by the width of the frame and out of view. . Price was double what I was quoted on the phone.

I have been up and down the Treasure Valley checking out thrift shops looking for antique plates…read moreand decor for my house. I stopped in the other day to check out what kind of goodies they had. It was early in the day so it was pretty chill. It was nice to shop in an empty store. I checked out Ruby's closet since it mainly focuses on vintage antiques. I was able to score some really pretty China. I did also scope out the regular shelves and found some treasures as well. I was quite amazed at how many stunning pieces they had! My cart was full of them. I did stop in the next day to see what kind of new things were on the shelves. I did find a cute antique chair that would have been great in my living room. I looked at the price tag and was quite shocked at the pricing. The chair was 80 dollars! Who in their right mind would charge 80 dollars for a chair at a thrift store? I understand that it's old and considered vintage but 80 dollars is completely ridiculous. As fun as it was to shop here or any other Idaho Youth Ranch, it's almost disgusting at the prices they are charging. They are profiting off of donated items. The point of being a thrift store is allowing those who are on a tight budget be able to afford things that they need. With some of the prices that they are charging, you might as well get something new at Walmart. I did have good luck finding some stunning pieces today. But the following visit just showed me greed in their pricing. I hope that IYR would consider being more considerate on their prices. Nothing more annoying than seeing a non profit store take advantage of our local community.

We enjoyed a top notch experience here for custom framing from start, assistance choosing the right…read moreframe stock, to expertly framed finish for a mismatched but related (same artist) trio of spendy prints that needed to work as grouping on a living room wall. Our interior designer stepped in, when I found myself completely 'out of gas' after selecting the prints for her to source, to recommend Finer Frames to do the work because she knew they did great work and with good turnaround times too. Right on all counts! We have a lot of custom framed art in our home, collected by working with framing galleries over the last 40 years as we moved around, and so I very much appreciated that the gallery owner, Meg, who was also the framer for our prints approached it with the eye of an artist, which she also is. Her frame stock recommendation resulted in the perfect choice. The work was expertly done and the turnaround time was excellent too. We have used a couple of other framing galleries in the area over the last seven years, we have been happy with both businesses for their strengths but also knowing their weaknesses we chose one or the other depending on the project. But Finer Frames will now be our one and only choice going forward for any project. VIBE: If you're like my husband and me who love both galleries and looking at framing materials, this will be a veritable candy land of options to consider. Also, the vibe inside was all "chillax" with jazz on the sound system and ample space in between items to look about. I said, and I'm not kidding, that depending on time of day I'd like to linger with cup of coffee or glass of wine in hand and soak it all in for an extended time. LOCATION: Downtown Eagle located and while parking there can be difficult, Finer has the advantage of their own small parking lot. ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking (van access compliant) spot right outside the side entry door which is level into the all one one floor space with ample room to maneuver. As a customer with multiple sclerosis, which I've had since college years, I notice when a business does a good job of making it accessible like this.
