I had to return to Michigan for a funeral and was looking for two SUVs to transport my family throughout the day. DTW Detroit Airport Car was the first to respond, the least expensive - several hundreds less, and the most communicative through Yelp, text, email or phone. (Screen shots). Driver was 0.25 away from me on the other side of 16 Mile Road. It took me 5 mins to figure out where he was and get him to my place. The driver blamed the Uber GPS. I would be fine with him being a tiny bit late. I WOULD have given 5 stars because the drive was great. Uber cut it's throat with this BS charge. I wasn't hammered at the bar and lost track of time. I stood 5 mins before the pick up time outside my home. I wanted this to be hassle free. Obviously it's not. I will use the business address next door to me next time, and walk over there. I don't own a car, and was hoping this would be less aggravation that the bus or cab. Slightly better. ETA: Uber in under 4 hours adjusted my bill, and took off the time penalty. Back to 5 stars.

I called him because I live in Novi, my car is down, and I need a ride to Henry Ford hospital Thursday morning. I called him to find out if he could do it, and he told me that he doesn't make local runs. If he doesn't do local runs, then he should not say that he's a Novi/Bloomfield cab or taxi service. That would be false advertising. I regard that as unprofessional. If he no longer does local runs, then he should state that he does not do local runs.
