Joseph Malavasi, owner of Malavasi Resurfacing, Took My…read moreMoney, Never Finished the job. The project cost was a few thousand dollars. I saved for over a year to do this project. 7/11/16, I paid him the amount he requested. The invoice stated the project would be complete within 3-4 days. 7/22, the work was still not complete and they had not shown up in several days. After phone calls and several text messages, he met with me to looked at the problem with the concrete. He agreed there was a problem. He claimed his co-worker didn't know what he was doing and he would fix the mistake. The concrete had a huge area where something had been spilled. He would have to reskim the concrete and resand. The "first application of stain" did not match the sample that he provided me. Looked nothing like we agreed upon. He gave his word that he would correct the concrete problem on 7/26 and apply the correct stain on 7/28. 7/26 He never showed up. I sent a text message asking when he was coming. He did not reply. 7/28, I left a voice mail and sent another text asking if he was going to complete the work we agreed upon and that I had paid for. He texted: "Yes I will, I have my hands tied with no help. My brother is back at Delta State and I'm looking for help". Since that time he has not responded to texts or voice mail. I requested him to refund payment with 5 business days or provide a schedule for completion. He never responded. I had to hired a new contractor to fix the problem and complete the job. I am out a lot of money. He took my hard earned money. He never completed the job. Very unprofessional.

Hiring this business has honestly been one of the worst decisions I could have made. I originally…read morehired them to renovate 2 small bathrooms approximately (6ft x 8.5ft) in my home. The contract was drawn up and signed on 3/6/17. The sales associate, who apparently has now been fired, assured me the crew could finish each bathroom within 1 week each. Needless to say, it is now October, my daughter is 5 months old, and they are still not finished. Here is a list of all the problems and set backs that have occurred up to this point. In the first bathroom, the wrong tub was installed. Lucky for me, a piece of marble fell from the wall and broke the tub which then had to be replaced by the correct one. This meant taking down the marble walls that had already been put up. Second, the marble vanity top was installed. Unfortunately they cut 3 holes in the surface for my faucet after I told them it only needed 1. It was remolded and replaced. It took until July before the first bathroom was completely finished. Their supervisor apologized saying he just took over managing the crew and assured me the 2nd bathroom would be completed in a timely manner. I expressed to him that I wanted the same tile, marble, sink, fixtures, etc. as in the 1st bathroom. In the 2nd bathroom, the wrong size shower pan was installed. It was removed and corrected upon the next visit. After which the tile was installed. I was furious when I came home to see they had used red grout between the gray tiles (in the 1st bathroom gray grout was used and the extra grout was still sitting in my garage). They had also installed the vanity over the tile as well as the commode. They dug the grout up around my vanity and commode and regrouted the correct color. Red grout still lies beneath the vanity. The front face of the vanity was cracked after being screwed on and the toilet was not installed flush with the floor. There is a half-inch gap on the front of the commode that has been grouted. Apparently, the installer of the toilet and tile has been fired as well. They refuse to properly reset the commode. They did however bring a new face for the vanity, which they cracked again when mounting it. It still needs to be replaced. The soap insert installed in the shower wall is not the same color marble as the rest of the shower. They said they would come back to replace it. The wrong marble vanity top was also installed in this bathroom. They installed an oval sink when I had originally asked for a square sink (like in the first bathroom). They did come and replace it with the correct sink, but for some reason, the new sink was warped and unlevel. I let them shim it so that I could have a functioning sink. Now I am being told that the shower glass for the shower (that I had chosen off the gallery floor) is not included in my contract and they are not installing it. Someone mysteriously marked through it in the paperwork, therefore it was not included. In short, there is no structure or guidelines for consistency among the installers, poor communication between the sales person, manager, and installers, and poor supervision of what is being installed. All I've heard are excuses for poor workmanship. Also, be careful of what you pick out on the gallery floor, it might not really be included in your contract!
