We told her "ya! this is a bar at 1am and we're offended that we lost our freedom to privacy and basic speech". We then asked nicely for our bills to pay and then immediately left. I do understand the owner's wish to keep it a social place and avoid some of the inadvertent (or deliberate) loitering that can happen when you offer that service.

We had a nap spread out in front of us. I can tell you that this lady's suggestions were excellent! The Cranewood on Main St is a repurposed beautiful 3-floor old house. They've done a fine job of redesigning the interior. The food and coffee we had was good, and it got quite busy in there! You line up for your order / food and to pay - cafeteria style. Sackville is a university town, and I really enjoyed our visit. This coffee shop was terrific! I would definitely go back.
