I didn't think she would have taken me as her client because I was already 39 weeks pregnant at our first meeting. The night I went into labor at 41 weeks, she showed up ready...essential oils and all! She was with my Husband and I for every step of the way (triage to an hour or so after the baby arrived) and she respected/supported EVERY decision my Husband and I made. She never once appeared tired, impatient, or frustrated with the birthing progress. We had a completely natural birth (in a hospital setting) but having Shiphrah and my Husband there made me feel like I was in the comfort of my own home- despite all the unnecessary hospital chaos that was happening around me. I would definitely use her again! I still think about the back rubs, the counter pressure, hugs, breathing techniques, leg rubs, smiles, reassurance, and just calm spirit she maintained to help me through such a painful & beautiful time! That right there should say it all ! Our visits leading up to it she answered all my questions, she listened to my concerns but more importantly made me excited about birth even after having a traumatic birth with my previous child! She made it very clear this was my birth and wanted the birthing plan to be everything my husband and I wanted! However the one thing that ment the most is she took time out to check on us not just before upcoming appointments she kept track of but after our miscarriage we had to deliver out sweet baby boy. She wanted to know every detail that we were willing to share and was ok with the ones we wanted to leave out. I call Corinna based on a recommendation from a lovely couple that I met on a hospital tour of North Fulton Hospital. They had RAVE reviews of her HypnoBirthing class, and services. Now I have my own to share. I hired Corinna for an in-home weekend intensive session, and I had to cancel it due to a last-minute furniture shipment that consumed my family room. She eagerly accommodated the move, and we met at an alternate location. The space had lit candles, aromatherapy and the ambiance was definitely calming. I needed it too, coming off of 285 weekend construction traffic. We spent the day together learning about anatomy, doing relaxing techniques, learning how my anxious body keeps my muscles and organs in fight-or-flight mode, which all does NOTHING for a happy baby or speedy delivery. I can go on and on about things that I learned and heard for the first time, but the long story short-- Corinnna: made me address my concerns, supported me, helped me identify the cause of anxiety, helped me with affirmations to replace the worries, and equipped me with so many tools that I feel ready to tackle anything. Her class is awesome, she continuously provides herself and future classes as a resource for past students, and doesn't leave any mom-to-be or birthing partner-to-be feeling inadequate or unprepared for the lovely joy of labor. My toddler went to her immediately and loved hanging out with her. While I was laboring she tidied up my kitchen so everything was clean for the next day for my husband. She supervised my little one while he came in to see me, and took him to another room when things got intense. He even let her put him down for a nap which I was super surprised by! My husband was able to focus on me the entire time without having to worry about the little. My labor was fast and intense so I was really thankful he was there for support. I would definitely recommend having a sibling doula from labor of love at your home birth, or if you need someone to be with your kids while you're at the hospital.
