Even though I live in Lincoln, this is the closest liquor store to me, about a seven minute drive if I catch the lights right. It's become one of those places I don't really think about, I just go. Which is usually a good sign. Selection is decent across the board. You're not walking into some massive warehouse with endless options, but you're also not stuck choosing between the same three bottles every time. Wine selection is respectable too, enough variety that you can switch it up without overthinking it. Prices are fair. Not a steal, not overpriced, just right in that middle ground where you don't feel like you're getting taken for a ride. The staff has always been consistently friendly. Nothing over the top, just polite, efficient, and easy to deal with. I've never had an issue there, which honestly counts for a lot. One interesting addition lately, they've started carrying THC and CBD drinks. Not my usual lane, but it's a nice option to have if that's your thing. All in, it's a good neighborhood liquor store. I've been coming here for years because it's close, and I like to support my local businesses when possible. They're a good place for beer and most wines and other liquor. The staff is friendly and helpful and it's clean and well marked. Unfortunately, I've had problems getting certain things. For example, Lancer's Portuguese wine is very well known, but they don't carry it. They also didn't have Claret wine sauce or Mead the last time I was there. I also went a few days before New years to get champagne, and only Asti was offered. Korbel or others were not offered. It just seems a little odd to only offer Asti champagne. read more

Don't understand why they have zero chilled champagne for sale. When people have a special occasion don't they buy champagne at the liquor store!? They have Prosecco only! When I asked about chilled champagne they said: "come with me, I'll show you!" and brought me to the Prosecco?? Really ignorant! WTH! Hands down the best liquor store in the area. Clarke is my own personal Sommelier!! Never disappoints with his suggestions, is very knowledgeable and really tries to get to know your tastes. If your not sure what to get ask for him! He's the guy! The customer service is always excellent from all staff and the place is spotless. Ample parking and convenient hours. read more

Very clean and organized liquor store which is always fully stocked and features new products that are advertised on tv when you want to try something new. They have all the bells and whistles: beer, wine, hard liquor, mixers, grenadine, juices, snacks. They could work on customer service. I came here to ask for a specific moscato and the guy pointed me to a shelf with all moscato were supposedly at. The one I wanted wasn't there. I ended up calling the store another time to ask for the moscato I wanted and the woman checked stock and said it was there. So basically found out they always carried the moscato I wanted, the previous in store visit, the guy just didn't check stock and lazily pointed me to a shelf where the moscato should've been. read more

1/10 and only gets the 1 for being conveniently located to my house. The staff is consistently, incredibly rude and inattentive. There's always a surplus of employees wondering around the store but it seems nobody available to help or cash out, weird. Having an employee guarding the door to rudely bark at paying customers "we're closed" 15 minutes prior to their listed closing time sure isn't good for business either but I won't be going back so what do I care! Somewhat pricier than other liquor stores in area but very well organized and clean. They have a large selection of everything really. Employees and owners are super helpful and friendly. They also sell pre-made gift baskets that are nice and reasonably priced. read more

How to lose lifelong customers by Douglas Wine and Spirits. First create a wine club card. The one where once you buy 10 bottles you get the 11th for 25 percent off. Then when a good customer presents the card, say the card are no longer valid. And don't put an expiration date on the card, but instead, blame the customer for not seeing arbitrary posting you put up last year. And be rude about. I had 150 dollars rung up today. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THIER OWN CARD!!!!! The total discount would have been 10 dollars, 10. I left the store amazed. I have been going there for 16 years. THIS IS NOT NOT NOT A GOOD BUSINESS. This is a really good store in North Providence. I recently was there for a tasting and I could not have been more happy with were I was that day. First off, the store is so clean and organized. I hate going into stores and seeing dusty bottles. This place cares about there product. The store is laid out well and it is easy to scan the facility to find out where your desired product is located in the store. The staff is super nice and helpful. They frequently greeted people in the store. Eric was very helpful to me because he was so nice and knowledgeable about everything. They do have events so keep up with them on their web page. Why review a wine store? Here's why. The selection is great, like really great. They also have about 5-11 people working at all times who are usually pretty helpful. The downside: Once I got there a few minutes before closing and they were SO angry. I understand not wanting to let a customer into a clothing store or somewhere that they're going to be browsing around forever, but I just wanted to grab a bottle of wine and go. The employees were all shooting dirty looks and yelling about it being closing time. I even apologized and the guy cashing me out said with a matter-of-fact attitude, "we get fined $3,000 if we continue selling past closing'...really? I clearly didn't know that, didn't intend to cause this store such an issue and would NEVER dream of reprimanding a customer like that if I was in the same shoes. If the store wasn't so convenient, this experience would have been a deal-breaker for me. read more

I think this place deserves another star after having a really good experience with their customer service. My boyfriend bought some nice margarita salt for me, but once we brought it home and opened it we realized it was expired and pretty gross. He brought it back to the store, and the manager really went out of his way to remedy the situation even though we couldn't return the opened product. FIRST AND LAST TIME HERE. RUDE! My friends and I walked into this establishment today (four of us) all in our late twenties. Upon checking out, the woman that had a resemblance to Carol Baskin, yelled at us because she wanted all of us to check out at the same register. When we handed over our IDs, we were scolded because one of our friends walked out and he had to be there in order to buy alcohol. Meanwhile we all handed our IDs while he went to grab his. One of our friends' ID rang up on their scanner "without an expiration date." They thought it might be a fake. Making a whole scene about it. Since our one friend had gone home to get his ID we decided to wait around for him in one of the aisles. The Carol Baskin looking lady, kept looking at us as if we were misbehaving. She proceeds to send one of her employees to check on us. This was unnecessary because we had already told this employee we were waiting for our one friend to go get his ID at home. read more

I have a temporary license because I just moved and they would not accept that or my numerous Bar identification cards, including a RI State Issued Court ID, so I was unable to make a purchase. This place is extremely overpriced. Have been going to a different store. Only use this place because of conveniency. Right down the road from where we live. Always out of stock on the most basic items. The managers are always sitting around doing nothing but chatting even when there is a huge line. Also treats employees poorly and overworks them. Not to be confused with Delta on Smith St, another large NP liquor store with a teal logo. Unlike there, I actually enjoyed the one time I came to Douglas. They had a respectable selection of craft beer singles. I don't recall where the prices landed but I think somewhere in the middle. read more
