Boasting the Butcher's Shop of the Year Award in 2010, it's safe to say that when it comes to having a local butchers, Douglas Willis definitely needs to be up there.
There's a huge problem in society today where a lot of us purchase our meat from supermarkets with absolutely no regard for where the meat comes from and whether or not we're willing to support the living conditions some animals endure to provide us consumers with sustenance.
I'm no animal rights activist and I'm definitely not a vegetarian, but I do think that when there's really very little reason to not opt for the more ethical option, we should try our best to support farms that give animals a humane life.
Douglas Willis is a family owned butchers from South Wales, having opened their first shop in Old Cwmbran back in 1940. They pride themselves in offering the highest quality of free-range meat from animals who have lived a comfortable life, free from the confining conditions from a lot of other farms...
