I politely went to the nurses station, cut my wristband off and threw it in the trash. I went back to my hotel and started taking more aspirin. Then one month later, I received a bill for over $1,000... These people are hilarious. Please shut that hospital down. Now mind you I'm a 70% DAV retired Army. I Went home, over night my condition got worse. So I decided to go to Southern Family Urgert Care the next day. All I can say is I'm on the road to recovery. I specifically told them what poisons I thought I was exposed to and created volatile fumes when I cleaned with vinager glass cleaner . I had shortness of breath , burning eyes and throat , it stung my skin .My shortness of breath had gotten better by the time I got there , I told the triage nurse that I felt like I couldnt swallow my spit and she told me not try and swallow it . I felt off killer, spacial amd depth perception was wonky, it was a serious situation but it wasn't taken seriously.I was concerned about poisoning. I expected them to at least look into information if they didnt know or put me with someone that could . Were told to go to emergency room for these types of things ,I told them I also had Mass cell activation , which means I can have allergic reactions to anything and a Anaplaxis . Something like getting gassed by chemicals didnt help . I got a few basic tests , chest xray , ekg, urinalysis , my vitals were okay. BUT I had told them them I had chemical exposure and noxious fumes from what I believed to be meth lab residue in the motel room I had rented . I was concerned for my health , horrific chemicals . I was asked what else do you want me to do for you ? Like I was supposed to know , I'm not a doctor .I asked for an inhaler and epi pens . So I left assuming I was okay .or hopingnI was . My belongings were comtamimated and ,my car cross contaminated. My hair off gassed when I washed it . I got sicker and sicker so I went to urgent care . I went thru the same thing and he tried to give me a coveid test . I left there and gave up all hope . 4 days after ER visit Im started vomiting rotten fish smelling liquids that off gassed chemical fumes ,I wasnt prepared for that . It was horrific . I thought I was going to die . I didn't see the point though of going to the emergecy room or calling 911 , I had enough of that bs . AI had enough problems I was not up for getting insulted . Apparently some poisons and gasses have delayed symptoms like Phosophine . I had no clue . So What's the answer ? She then told the girl Brittany to switch places with her so she can keep me in line and then she look at me and said, yeah that's right now try me.

I experienced that firsthand. I came to the Emergency Room due to severally spraining my ankle last week. I should have crawled home instead of coming and wasting my time. I arrived there around 7pm. Now I know military medical installments are always "hurry up and wait". They'll say "we'll be with you in a couple minutes", those minutes are longer than expected. Anyways, where was I? I had X-Rays, completed - done. No damage. I was in so much pain and asked for some type of medicine. I didn't get anything until 9pm. The Dr. came and asked if I was okay. Ummm, yeah...no I'm not. Now that wasn't what had me livid. After all the exams and X-Rays, I was told I would be sent home in a boot and crutches. Waited another hour. One of the assistants asked my height for the correct crutches and asked my shoe size for the boot. Told her and she said "I'll be back in a couple of minutes". I smirked at that. Dr. came back and said "we don't have your height in crutches nor do with have the size boot, so you're free to go home". I looked at him as if he was speaking a language I didn't understand. I was more shocked at how nonchalant he said it. As if, he knew when I came in the ER what the outcome was going to be. I told him, what am I supposed to do now. He literally ‍. Then I said "this is BS and what kind of business are y'all running? "If I were an 0-5 (Officer) I can guarantee you that you all would have found crutches and a boot". I was just shocked how there is no inventory on the basic things you would need at an ER. It sucks because being a military member you would think there would be some kind of help, but it's not. Which goes back to me now really thinking that the medical industry doesn't care. It's about a dollar. I was better off doing the RICE method. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. It would have save me time spent and the agony. Lesson learned. I ended up going to an outside civilian ER and hobbled out of there in a boot and crutches with NO HESITATION.

Staff were friendly to each other more than just polite. They acted like family, bantered, joked, and helped each other out. The physicians here are approachable and are always willing to offer advice. The surgeons I had the pleasure of working with taught when they could and offered insight into the field. For students coming to rotate through, get here early at 7-7:30 am that's when the first cases would start and usually if you show interest they will let you choose the cases you want to see. Eg interested in ortho they'll have you scrub in on all the ortho cases. The physicians lounge is for doctors but often times the doctors will tell you to grab lunch at this lounge. Food here is different everyday and has a variety of options and on the side there is a build your own salad station. Fridge is stocked full of drinks mostly soda though. Remember to be considerate and clear your own tables. Recommendation: you get what you put in.
