During a teeth cleaning I had my gums stabbed and tooth damaged to where I feel the damage when I…read morefloss. This area got infected. I wasn't upset because mistakes happen, but when I came back in to address this issue, they wanted me to pay for the service. They claim that it was coincidence, but the trauma site would not have gotten infected if they had not inflicted that trauma on me in the first place. I had a few cavities filled here and Dr. DeRose offered to fill in a slightly misshapen area on an otherwise healthy tooth that I expressed concern about - but it did not NEED work. There is a tiny hole in this filling that catches debris that I can't properly clean. Dr. DeRose's work created a new issue for me and wants me to pay to correct it because the initial faulty work on that tooth was done for free. They wouldn't discuss it logically, but rather kept repeating "he did you a FAVOR!" Which, yes he did, and I really appreciated that! However this favor created a new problem that I didn't have before. When asked, they said they'd correct it for free *had I paid for the initial service.* So evidently he does not accept accountability for work he doesn't bill - trapping me to be financially accountable to fix his "favor." They kept accusing me of just wanting free work, which is not the case. I've paid hundreds of dollars to them for their services no problem. I just don't think I should have to pay them hundreds more to fix the issues THEY created. I would not recommend this place to anybody because of the damaging service and insulting demeanor in which I was treated when trying to resolve these matters.

I have dentist chair fear. But this place makes me feel very comfortable. Dr DeRose is awesome!…read more Everyone that works there is very nice. They have a great payment plan.

My husband and I came to this office knowing our insurance company -United Health Care or U.H.C. is…read moreaccepted here. Before any work is done , the office verified with our insurance company what our responsibility would be, after UHC pays their allowed amount, for services. No procedures are done until our financial portion is collected at Dr. Bartman office. Patients do have to sign a document which reads that patient is responsible for what insurance does not pay. You don't sign it and no service. I signed feeling confident that we did our due diligence. Dr. Bartman also informed us what insurance will pay for my guard and my husbands crown and what our portion will be before we consented. After all procedures were finished....... 1. We recieved an 800.00 bill!!! 2. I called and spoke to receptionist at front desk and she could not explain why my bill was 800.00 and transferred me to Brian in the billing department. 3. Brian stated their office was not contracted with UHC-(They are per UHC) and our balance due is for being out of network. That made no sence! I did tell Brian to look at one account at a time. Not clump my husbands and my account together and start at the begining. I stated to Brian to look at my husbands account first , because thats the one you refer to as having the balance. I was not comfortable talking any furthur with Brian until I spoke with my insurance company. Needed more concrete facts. We decided to talk on May 9th after Brians vacation. He did not call back and when I did, he had not looked at the bill, since we talked last. He stated he would look it over with another biller and call back the next day. 4.Brian called back the next day and now states it was "my bill" and not my husbands bill that had a balance . He explains that Im responsible for any balance, if their office cant get the insurance company to pay. Brian sates that "insurance company's" don't like to pay out claims and gives me an example of another patient being denied. What a rediculous thing to say. Our insurance company denied my claim because Dr. Bartman improperly filed the claim. She failed to get a preauthorization and explain why I needed the mouth guard. At this point I knew I was dealing with a young, immature, inexperienced, unprofessional person! HELP!!! Brian would often say, "im sorry your frustrated " or " I know your mad" as well as , " I get why your not happy" but its your responsibility to pay, if there is a balance". First of all....Im not mad, frustrated or unhappy! That would imply I was dealing with a competant person. I was not. Secondly , you have no idea what I think of your ineptness! 5. I called UHC stated and explained what I was dealing with. Insurance representative explained I was not responsible for bill. She stated it was the Dr's. error by not complying with the UHC process, when filing my claim. She continued to state how clear it is to Drs., what is necessary to process a claim. And claims don't get paid unless Dr's. process them accordingly. As I stated earlier, Dr. Bartman had not preauthorized nor sent a medical necessity letter with my claim. I asked the Insurance representative to call Brian while I was on the phone and make it quite clear that the problem lies with the office and not me. She also would inform Brian what exactly was necessary to process the claim as well as remind Brian I had paid my portion at time of visit. 6. UHC calls Brian . 7. Brian calls me back and states insurance called and "everything's all set!" I could not believe his nieve arrogance in thinking he had a handle on "any"of this! 8. Brians head must be still in the sand, where he went on vacation! I stated I knew that UHC called because " I had them call and speak with you all the while I was on the phone". Oh my!!!! Brian stated that Dr. was already sending information needed to process the claim! He reminded me AGAIN how I would be responsible for any portion of the bill when Dr. resubmitts the bill correctly. Of course he did not use the word correctly in his sentence. I think I should bill their office for .... A. My time to fix this mess B. Dealing with an #! $** C. Office harrassment Better Business Bureau? Lol Never once did Brian take responsibility for himself or Dr. Bartmans role in this debauchery! Shame on Dr. Bartman and her staff for not doing the right thing in processing my claim correctly in the first place and for hiring an incompetant biller and customer service person. Does the doctor know how her office is being represented? Yikes! If I did not call inquiring about my bill, Dr. Bartmans office would never have resubmitted my claim to UHC . Instead I found the problem and facilitated, what I now hope, is my claim being correctly processed and no futher bills from this disheveled office! Another reason why insurance costs are high! Improper billing! Ps Brian...get your head out of the sand dude!

Everyone in this office is friendly and welcoming! They were able to get me in with only one days…read morenotice (twice)! Couldn't ask for a better dentist! I highly recommend Dr. Bartman!
