I would like to preface that everything that I am today is because of this program and I wouldn't change a thing, because it got me to where I am today and I am extremely proud of everything I have accomplished. Trey Giddens and Ashley Cleavland changed my life, and I would do it all over again if I meant I got to work with them. My little sister has been granted the opportunity to attend Berklee the School of Music because of this program and helped prepare her when applying. This program offers amazing things. However, to say the least, I am extremely disappointed in this school's administrative team that runs it. To make an extremely long story short, when I first joined the program, it was explained to me that once I became a senior, any leftover balance, in the positive, due to fundraising or excess payment, would be returned to me as a scholarship at the annual FAME awards. Granted, this could have been a different policy for the choir program than the band program. However, my little sister had $208 in excess funds that suddenly got transferred to the program's personal finances while my family was still under the impression they would receive it to help fund her future education. There have been several administrative changes since I was a freshman there, including a different magnet director every year for the past 6 years. The lack of documentation regarding finances and student expectation or accolades has been extremely neglected and needs serious attention. I know this review will do nothing to fix the situation my family is dealing in regards to the program, so my only hope is that this post will ring in someone's ear and draw some attention towards the fact that Moffett shouldn't be in charge of the programs finances and outside help may be warranted. Thank you for your time if you finished reading this. I'd like to reiterate that this program built me as a human and it's good for those who live for the fine arts. It just needs serious administrative reconsiderations.

One of the employees went over there and told them they needed to calm down which I completely agree with and understand completely but then this RUDE LADY went over there and said "You All Better keep it Down " and pointed at my kids just my kids( the only Mexican kids playing) So as she walked away all I said was "can you please not point at my kids" . The lady went and had the sheriff to make us leave so I tried to ask him why if all I did was ask her not to point at my kids he said he "dont care why" (meanwhile my 8 year old is crying because we didn't do anything wrong) tried to ask who we may speak with to fill out a complaint but they refused to give me any information. (his third grade year) He came to me and said that the school lunch was unsanitary!! And apparently, he said they used no gloves while serving their lunch. As any parent would be I was in shock and wanted to put in a complaint. But he said that to not put in the complaint. I was also extremely confused. After the first week of school, he said that bullies wanted to fight him at ASP. And then the next day he came home looking sad and hurt. He said that the bullies had all started hitting him. He also said that the monitors were paying little to no attention to the children. Towards the end of 2017, I had received two different emails from two different teachers in one week regarding my sun and his behavior, causing disruption in the class and not completing assignments. My remedy for this behavior was a promise to follow through with a butt whooping from me to him if he got in trouble again. Needless to say, he did indeed get into trouble again only a few days later. When the teacher told him she would be calling me, by her words, he flipped out crying hysterically, saying he was gonna get a whooping and that he was "scared". My issue with Ms. Melissa Joe and Ms. Heather Rainy is, that after being immensely involved with this school after 11 years, 3 children, GOD knows how many Fun Fest, Bear Runs, Road Runners, Talent Shows, Fundraisers, Volunteering etc etc, they SUSPECTED child abuse! Yes indeed they called DFCS on me, an Educator myself, after I took the initiative to correct the very behavior of my child they were complaining about! Now that's a kick in the teeth! I immediately withdrew my sun and thank GOD for always being in control. The case worker that handled this situation was definitely an Angel and closed this case with no doubt the school's administrators had been dramatic in their decision to involve them. I believe if this were a white family, that call would have never been made. I love the ratio of students to teacher, it provides a great atmosphere for one on one attention for my children. I have five children who attend here from high school on down, and this is their second year attending. In my opinion, there is not a better place to provide a God centered education for your children five stars!
