They may be a chain but they appreciate their local customers. I've had a few good experiences over…read morethe few years I've shopped here now (definitely an improvement over Tops) but recently something happened which inspired me to write a review. I did a big shopping trip, ended up spending $175, so I didn't have time to go through my receipt before I left or check every item as they were scanning since we're bagging our own groceries right now because of covid (not complaining about that, means I get to make sure it's done right--nothing has been squished in a year!)... Anyway, so when I get home and check my receipt I notice 1 item seems to be priced wrong. I could have *sworn* the price was a $1 less because the item was on sale--it stuck in my head because I didn't expect the discount. So the next day I called Holiday Customer Service and spoke with a new lady who took my info and then called me back 5 minutes later saying I was correct, that somehow the price was not changed with the new weekly sale. She offered to put the difference on a gift card (though it wasn't so much about the $1 as it being correct and me not being crazy), but it wasn't a great solution since I try not to go into the market all the time. So maybe 10 minutes after that 2nd call with Customer Service I get a call from Jeff, who I believe is the Store Manager here in Weaverville. Jeff is awesome. Jeff insisted on going above and beyond what Customer Service had already done to make sure that I was satisfied and didn't feel like my time had been wasted. He certainly made me feel like a valued customer (which is nice, because I shop there a lot and it be hard to feel known/valued by such a large company). Anyway, this is the treatment I like to receive at a small town grocery store and I'll continue shopping here.

The cost of everything keeps going up and this store is no different. They do nothing to pass savings on to customers, or the community. The produce is often rotting on the shelf with high prices as well. Stop blocking a grocery outlet from coming to Trinity county. Locals need somewhere affordable to shop.

We were two-wheeled pilgrims, dust-caked and hungry, and Papa Dogs Tap House and Deli was exactly the kind of gritty oasis we needed. This ain't some polished, pretentious joint. Papa Dogs has a real, lived-in feel, a kind of cute and quaint charm that still feels authentically small-town. I ordered the Albuquerque turkey, it was the perfect combo of flavors and the super cold pineapple hard cider was much appreciated. They were out of chips so I skipped on that (obviously) The folks working there? Solid. No fuss, no fake smiles, just genuinely kind and efficient. But let me tell you, the true salvation, the damn highlight of this whole pit stop, was that patio. We peeled off our helmets, stretched out, and let the Weaverville air wash over us. It's got that easygoing, unpretentious vibe that just screams "kick back." After hours of white-knuckling it through twisty mountain passes, that patio was pure, unadulterated bliss.
