Hands down the BEST dermatologist in the area. I used to go to Slocum Dickson but the dermatologist there legit spent 2 minutes with me, she barely looked at my skin and immediately told me I should try Accutane and was pushing all of these medications on me. After a few appointments at Slocum I stopped going there and found Dr. Ahn. There was a few month waitlist to get an appointment with him but the secretaries were very accommodating with my schedule. Dr. Ahn and his nursing staff are all amazing and very compassionate and SPEND TIME listening to their patients. This is huge for me because I am a nurse myself and it's so important to have good rapport with your patients. Dr. Ahn has made an effort to try every last thing possible before putting me on Accutane which is basically the last option for cystic acne. He's hands down the best dermatologist in this area. His nurses are great too. I highly recommend coming here. The office is conveniently located right in New Hartford in a good area. The office is clean and comfortable. All of the staff is friendly. Both my husband and I have been to a few derms and family doctors, and for the most part, the family doc part was pretty ok - it was the dermatology piece that was the issue. Most of the derms never caught or said the various spots on my body were not concerning, but Dr. Ahn caught it and managed to convince me that it was worth getting it cut out (mind you, I hate needles so the sound of that scared me to death). This is where his fabulous nurse came in and was just awesome. Her needle was pretty painless (not her fault the numbing stuff itself stings). The cuts were clean and very precise by Dr. Ahn and everything was painless. He called to check back on me and answered all of my annoying questions. My husband had something on his face and got checked out - where all derms failed, Dr. Ahn managed to give him a script for something that really worked for him - after 15+ years of annoying skin issues, he was very happy.
