I loved working with Casey Cooper very easy going, easy to work with. However my mother did not resemble anything like her , her chin was bent in. Dougherty was wonderful to work with when my father passed away. They took care of every detail from communicating and coordinating with the church to helping us with the obituary. They were incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and we really appreciated their services. We found them to be nothing but professional and compassionate. I want to start by saying that our family has been using Dougherty funeral home for years. My great grandparents went to Dougherty, and every family member since has used Dougherty. When they worked with Tom, he was wonderful, then his son Dan Sr. was also wonderful. Now we arrive at the 4th generation of family to use Dougherty with Dan junior. First off, our aunt had selected everything ahead of time, casket, stone, and pre-paid everything. Where's the problem? Please excuse my morbidity but we talked to them about curling our Aunt's hair. My aunt always took pride in having her hair curled and nice. She didn't want any pictures at the service. Thats different but fine with us. We show up for the wake and usually when you see a loved one, they look beautful, frozen in time. They had not curled her hair, and I kid you not, bright red (please excuse me) hooker red color lipstick. Now we were stunned. Even if they did not have a picture of how she looked alive, there was a severe lapse in judgement with a fire engine red lipstick on an elderly woman and no other blush or makeup, and they had not done her hair at all. Now this may seem trivial but when we mention, this, Dan Jr says that they can fix it no problem. Now next day at the church, they had done nothing, everything was the same, I can understand her hair, but her lipstick? That should not have been a problem to fix. All that asside, remember everything was paid, THEY KEPT BILLING US. Three times we told them we were completely paid in full. Nevermind all that, nevermind that they said they were going to give us complimentary thank you cards, but wait we just have to pay the tax and we can have them. Nevermind all that. Fast forward to almost a year later. We live in Arizona, and come to find out, the stone was never ordered. We were told it had been ordered. It was by random chance that the subject came up in the family. The stones are almost $1,000. So they have been sitting on an extra $1,000, with no care to where it came from? We aren't the only family that this has happened to. Paul is the only good thing about the situation, helping us order the new stone, and doing it as quickly as possible. I know it's a small town but go somewhere else. read more

Our family went through the loss of our grandmother in November 2017. This was over 6 months ago. When looking for someone to complete my grandmothers' headstone my father found Dougherty Funeral Home and reached out to start the process. Once the headstone was "ordered" my father could not get a consistent answer over the months leading to now. First, when speaking with Angela, he was told that they couldn't put the head stone in until the snow has cleared. Shortly after the snow cleared my father, who had lost his mother, had to initiate multiple contacts to the funeral home and on all 4 different occasions was told that he would get a call back with answers but that never happened and the only contact was outgoing to Dougherty Funeral Home from my father with him always initiating the contact and never receiving any information. Also, I feel it very important to note the complete lack of empathy for family suffering a great loss. I can't imagine how a place could stay in business when treating, possibly the most difficult situation, grieving people the way they have. Lastly, there was a refund check mailed to my father, which to me, proves that they didn't actually order it 6 months prior as promised, when it was paid in full up front. In total this has been going on for 12 months with prior arrangements being made and paid 6 months before her passing. Please steer clear of this place when looking for someone to help with funeral arrangements, it is totally apparent that they are not sensitive to the needs of grieving people. read more

You can tell that this business is family owned and operated. When going through such hard times, they made it so much easier on our family by providing such amazing service. They went above and beyond to accommodate our family by organizing all the extra services we were needing and therefore taking these extra duties off my mother's hands.
