Fortunately, we worked with Downs Funeral Home and the staff there helped us so much. They were beyond professional and helpful and they made themselves available day and night if we had questions or concerns. They made an unbearable process much easier. Gorgeous cemetery - - as far as they go -- this one is absolutely huge!! We drove all around, there were plenty of hills to drive up and down and all around. We even saw a mama deer and her baby scurry past us... it was so beautiful! My only irk.... (and this is probably a privacy thing), was that we couldn't locate the plot that we were looking for. They do have an office looking building, but it's only open M-F, and we were there on a Sunday. (Too bad there wasn't a directory, or something online...) But... if i were to live in Duluth when I pass away, this peaceful place is probably where I'd like to rest.

The office has displays that help when you want to make a purchase, and there are always coffee and refreshments. They actually have a lot of open hours, so it's easy to contact them.

The roads are terrible, the grass had not been mowed, some stones at odd angles, many piles of sawdust where trees had been cut down etc. I come biannually and have noticed some issues each time I have been there, but not like this year! Next time I come, I will bring my own weed wacker to make my families graves look nicer. I will also reset my grandmother's foot stone so it is level as well. Sorry, but I am not impressed by the total lack of care to these grounds.
