I used to think those factory-produced confections, shipped by the caseload to donut chains, only to be thawed and finished before going into a showcase were "good donuts" sorry Dunkin, I see the light now. Dough Co does it right. Guys, you can taste the from-scratch ingredients and the fresh-from-the-fryer glow in the dough. We got an assortment of cream sticks (Long Johns, torpedos depending on your vernacular) and I didn't even know that many variations existed. They were heavy and light at the same time--the masterful medley of perfectly-balanced dough filled to the gills with rich cream. A swipe of frosting on top made my life. My fingers are trembling as I write this. It's a combination of post-coital sugar shock and delight from having a real donut for the first time in a long time. Around Amish country, there are plenty of spots for donuts, plenty of competition. Even though this spot is more modern leaning than it's rustic competitors, I'd say it's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Stopped in to the Sugarcreek location while on a day trip. It was a cute little bakery/cafe recommended by the locals we were staying with, and I was so glad we swung by. In all donut situations, I usually opt for the apple fritter (because when they're done right, they're sooooo good). As you can likely tell from the number of stars, this fritter hit all the right marks. It wasn't overly sweet or greasy and had big apple pieces! Plus it was a sizable dessert for a dollar and change. Definitely a donut to remember! Others in my group loved the cinnamon twist and the glazed yeast donuts. Just by looking in the bakery case, I could assume that all of the freshly baked options would be a home run, even given the abundant local competition. This is great bakery with a multi choice of pastries. The cost for this is very reasonable. No limit placed on number of pastries that one can buy. Well stocked, the waitress very pleasant and patience while you make your selections . This has become a morning stop for office workers and home office visitors for morning meetings !! I've been here twice. The first time I remember thinking they were almost a little too sweet, but this time I didn't really have that issue. Tried four kinds and all were very good--maple cream stick, old fashioned, "buckeye" (pb icing and chocolate drizzle), and apple fritter. Their raised varieties are SO soft, seem very fresh, and even 8 hours later were still surprisingly soft. I also love that they add glaze even to their iced varieties, which many stores do not. Also tried their savory kolaches the last time, which were good; sadly they had run out today. Will definitely be back! read more

Made our first visit on a Saturday around noon. While many varieties were sold out, there were still some fabulous options in the case. We tried: maple with Bavarian filling, maple with traditional cream filling, chocolate with cream filling, Buckeye (round with peanut butter cream and fudge drizzle), Boston cream, and a basic vanilla cake donut. All were amazing - not too dense, plenty of filling. I loved the vanilla cake because it was the right texture and has a solid flavor. All those donuts were $8. I really do like the donuts from here. The glaze donut reminds me of krispy kreme and shipley's combined. Krispy kreme texture and shipley's flavor. Glaze donut is my favorite and I recently tried the blueberry cake donut, which is really TASTY and my second favorite. I also tried the chocolate drizzled, bavarian cream donut and thought the sweetness of it was perfect. some places can make their bavarian filled donuts toooo sweet that makes it hard to finish or the bavarian cream is overfilled and you could barely taste the donut itself. Dough Co. was a perfect balance. I'm not a big fan of their sausage kolache - the sausage is more like a breakfast sausage patty versus a hot dog sausage. I prefer hot dog sausage kolaches - like the ones serve at shipley's. Cool ambiance, friendly service, plenty of seating areas, and it isn't overly priced. Parking is limited, but I think there are spaces in the back of the building? I'm not sure, since I've been able to find parking in front and along the side. For both times that I have been, the line wasn't too terribly long, but there is usually a line that goes by pretty fast. Definitely check this place out to satisfy your donut cravings! read more

Dough Co. has the best donuts, etc. around and you can get a good cup of coffee to go with it. Unfortunately if you are there close to noon and want to eat in, you need to be prepared for the overwhelming smell of Pine Sol as they "mop" the floor in the hallway leading to the restrooms. They use way too much of what ever they are using, which also leaves the floors dangerously wet and slippery. We have mentioned this to them. This should be an easy fix, but so far has not been regarded. read more

I used to love to go to Dough Co- they had some of the best donuts around but lately the service has been lacking- I have a peanut allergy and had never had an issue with cross contamination until recently when I went to get donuts for a sleepover for my daughter and the employee used a pair of tongs that were coated with various icings- I asked her if she could please just use new plastic gloves to get my selections and she proceeded to tell me that it "wouldn't matter " because everything was "contaminated " and that they couldn't even guarantee that the icing room was safe- wow- you just lost a great customer who happens to work at the local hospital- I will never again purchase donuts from your establishment . read more

This, and a lemon one I had, are my favorite and I don't even like peanut butter like that. Usually take them to go, but I decided to eat here this time. They have WiFi, a pretty good amount of seats (and soft seating), friendly staff, it's clean, good music, great prices and other food options. Their donuts are excellent. The prices are great and the donuts are fairly large compared to other donut shops I've been too. Their dough is a more airy, fluffy texture, opposed to some shops with a thicker, more dense consistency.
