There was a misunderstanding between the Wescadia representative and I but I was unhappy to find out about the charge for water (moreso the beverage containers). Otherwise communication with the main Cecil Green rep Lindsay was easy and efficient over email. She is very understanding and accommodating with my questions and requests. I was staying on campus for a few days and decided to visit the botanical garden for a nice walk. I…read morewas pleasantly surprised with the amount of flowering plants as the weather was still quite cold. The trail map was easy to follow and there were multiple areas to explore. I was fascinated by the medicinal herb area as each plant described the ailments it could treat. There was also a large area for growing produce that is being used to feed needy people in Vancouver. A portion of the trail is paved and there are also trails that are mostly mulch. It takes about 2 hours to cover the whole garden if you go at a leisurely pace. There are restrooms throughout the garden and the staff is very friendly. The parking lot is spacious and the parking rates are inexpensive. I believe it was $1.50 CA per hour. The google maps did route me to the back of the garden (no parking or entrance) so you may have to loop around to get to the front entrance. There is an information booth right in the front and the staff will give you a quick explanation of the layout of the place.

Friday June 24 - Planned and attended a private event Harbour Room (100 guests)…read more Pros - Some of the most amazing views of the Vancouver waterfront!!! - Outdoor patio seats 30, they have patio umbrellas if needed - Well known venue, you'll likely come here for a wedding or special event - Professional staff such as an events coordinator, catering and bartending no complaints - We ordered 6 hors d'oeuvres that were passed throughout the event, our guests loved the items! They are made on-site as far as I know. - Full bar with domestic and import beers, spirits including scotches and 6 beers on tap. Cons - A little bit stuffy in some way with metal plaques on the walls from old events, this place really has 125 years of history - A private member's club, so you won't be able to just walk into the venue to enjoy the view - There is one pulldown screen on stage and the projector was decent but could be a bit better - Audio was also not as loud as it needed to be and it was already on max - They had wired mics, no wireless Damage -A few thousand dollars. Protip - No free parking that I know of, only hourly and daily rates.

The staff were all incredible to work with, so easy going and approachable while organized and thorough. Our coordinator, Nicole, was full of great suggestions and responded to every one of our last-minute, frantic emails with grace and helpfulness. The bar manager, JJ, gave us everything we needed during setup the day of, and provided all logistical support with our dj, florist, and guests with a smile. Bar staff were full of laughs, good humour, and friendly. The venue is wildly charming, the main hall has a wrap around licensed deck that looks over Coal Harbour providing stunning views day and night. Our guests from the prairie provinces were in awe all night. Emelle's catering, exclusive caterer, provided food and service for the wedding and we couldn't have been happier. Food was 5 star, and service was friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. Venue and alcohol service costs are very affordable, especially in comparison to other local venues. Can't wait to have another event there!

There were also people enjoying making the walkways bounce. All of this is fine if it aligns with expectations. In the future I would definitely skip the TreeWalk and focus on other areas of the botanical garden.

The last round of our golf trip took us to University Golf Club, and it was a super fun course to…read moreplay. The course is currently under construction with a handful of holes being reduced to par 3s, which is a bummer because they are still charging full price. We had a pretty early round, got there an hour early, and were told to check-in closer to our time to get a cart. They charged the card I booked with so no transaction was needed. The course itself was a good mix of tight tee shots and some where you had some flexibility if you missed left or right. The greens were rolling pretty nice and true. The finishing holes were pretty tough, but being in the tree lined fairways makes this a really pretty place to play. Overall, it's a course I'd definitely play again but not until they open up the full course.

Golf club out by the UBC area. This review is for the driving range…read more Parking is available in the large lot. Not sure why they weren't using the covered tee area at the time, as it was a really hot sunny day. Guess it's more for rainy days. The netting at the back only covers the far end and a bit of the sides, so an errant ball can easily end up on the course. The driving range has 30 spots available, and it wasn't too busy. There are 8 "holes" in the range as well, which gives something to aim at besides the back netting. There is also a very small pro shop selling miscellaneous golf stuff.
