King -Deluxe-Wetbar with Courtyard or Poolside view is what I reserved for the period 28 Nov - 1 Dec. When I arrived at the desk, I was given a warm cookie and directed to my room. When I arrived at my room, I found 2 queen beds. I called the front desk and they told me I had a deluxe room but I complained they gave me 2 queens vice a king without informing me. I was referred to the manager (Mr. Thornton) who found me a room with a king size bed and said everything is fine now and he needed to train the front desk personnel. My king room did NOT have a poolside or courtyard view, rather a back parking lot view. Don't stay here and settle for their bait and switch tactics. read more

Ant and roach hotel!!! I was assigned to this hotel for our annual corporate sales meeting and was extremely disappointed from my arrival to departure. First it was like a maze getting to my room with little directions and limited elevators. I was sweating by the time I finally found it. My second of three days I noticed little ants in the bathroom area. They came to spray about 2 hrs after I reported the ants. Which was fine until I saw a roach crawling through one of the cracks behind the sink. I quickly checked out and reached out to my company and then the hotel management. The Manager took her good time coming down and then claimed to provide me hotel reward points to compensate me for my troubles; which I never saw. I wish I remembered her name because I would report her. Stay away from here. read more

Not a bad place at all. Friendly staff in every department we delt with. Big property. Three nice pools. Average room. Very close to Sea World. Not a ritzy place but a good clean, friendly, Orlandoish feel, especially good if you intend to go to Seaworld. read more

Do NOT stay hear! Our reservation request was not properly handled. Very noisy. Still awake at 11:30 pm due to LOUD noise at pool. Called management 4 times. They sent security which abated noise for about 1 minute. Poor mamagement. Manager did not care. I paid $500 to attend conference here and will be exhausted tomorrow. Also this hotel was a real dump and Hilton trying surface up grades, but not of quality. Restaurant too expensive or families. Room smells musty. You can get a much better deal elsewhere! read more

They gave us cookies upon our arrival, which was a nice surprise. The check-in attendant was very sweet and kind. I had no idea it would be a motel, with a hotel price. I figured it would be a hotel, like I was paying for. The first room they booked us in was building 18 and it had a very musty smell. My husband has allergies and asthma and cannot breath with that. I should have just cancelled and gone elsewhere, but I decided to switch rooms. The other room in building six also has a slight dank, musty smell, but we made the best of it. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and updated. The family pool had a water spout for kids to use that did not work, which was disappointing to my daughter who really wanted to squirt her dad. The buffet was good, but priced very high, similar to a champagne brunch without all of the options or champagne. What they had was good though. The big shocker was being charged for parking. You pay in addition to your room fee, $15 a night. Had I known this upon arrival or before booking the room, we definitely would have booked elsewhere. I didn't give it one star because the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but there is still much to be desired. read more

So far our stay has been less then ideal. Our view is facing the parking lot, and it's very loud. Our bedding had tooth paste on it, and there are several people who keep smoking outside of our room. They don't actually have comforters, they are more like sheets. I'm kind of confused by it. I had to pull the extra blankets out of the closet and run the heater on. The house keeping apologized for the dirty bedding and said they were going to upgrade us for our trouble, then promptly called back and let us k ow all they were going to do is "comp" the fridge we thought was going to be in our room in the first place. We have 3 more nights here, and I'm praying they can get us a better room for tomorrow. I can't sleep, and all I smell is smoke read more

This is for one of the Manager's, Woody. David "Woody" Woodstien is who earned these stars. As a Hilton Honor's Reward member, I expect to be treated with a delicacy that is unmatched by any competitors chain. Unfortunately, after being greeted kindly by the pleasurable hotel registration night shift (including an personable and welcoming Nicki), I tiredly trekked through a wet, full, parking lot and figured out the labyrinth that is the system they have to organize their room numbers. As I got to the room, I noticed the maid's cart was outside my door. I never really thought It would be for my room. As I walked in my door, I was overwhelmed with a pungent odor that is not appropriate to describe on a review. There were towels askew, coffee used, beds unmade, and a humidity to the room like the shower had just been used. The room was disgusting. After being tired, wet, and ready to lay my head on the pillows and call it a night, I had to wait for an hour for the room to be prepared. The housekeeper manager was very apologetic and comped my parking for my friends and myself. This was appreciated but hardly enough to turn my mood around. It wasn't until Woody gave me a call and really made me feel welcomed as a guest and a Hiltons Honor's Member. He gave me a free night's stay at the Doubletree whenevr I choose. He made sure I was okay with teh situation before we hung up. He even went as far as to half price the room the next time during a peak season (the comp room was in the mail). Thank you Woody, truly. -Chris read more

WARNING, do not stay at the Doubletree Orlando Sea World or the Orlando Hilton. These are two huge rip offs. First of all, both charge you about $17 to self park. Then the Doubletree says they have free shuttles to the Hilton but they are never around. I ended up paying $17 to park to have drinks with customers at the Hilton, $20 for taxi to dinner and then $17 to park at the Doubletree (they are all only 5 blocks apart). I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars on dinner and drinks but I hate getting screwed on the little stuff, its demeaning. These two hotels will never get my business again. Plus the front desk guy David acted as if I was lucky to be staying there read more

Very nice looking hotel. Slow service at breakfast restaurant. Good 10min to see server. Another 15 for food. Not quite like other Hilton properties. And no, the Rush was over. read more

This room was over priced for no reason. There was no self parking so we had no choice but to valet. When we finally walked in the room we had two queen size beds there were hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very tiny and the room had a bad paint job. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. The next day housekeeping comes by the room without knock and comes straight into the room. Then on my way out in told the front desk to tell the housekeeping to come by and make the bed and leave some fresh towels. I get back, our bed is not made and our dirty towels are still on the floor and the clean towels they threw on the bed. Then to top it off there's people running around the hotels all types of next. And kids too. I honestly felt like the only thing I paid for was the fact that it's the DoubleTree by Hilton and that is close to SeaWorld that's it. I would never visit here again read more

This is an old Florida "resort" style hotel. The outer buildings/rooms do look tired, but once you get onto the interior grounds its actually a very nice property. Pools were convenient and clean. Playground, checkers, mini golf all right near our room. My complaints were that at check in you have to park in front where the valet is and they asked for my keys which made me uncomfortable since I was only checking in. The check in line was long but they had 4 people at the desk so I think they were doing the best they can. I was not offered a cookie nor did they confirm my room rate, just gave me a key and map. The dresser drawers in my room would not close, they kept rolling open, which was odd. This is a 3-star hotel that is convenient and priced right for family on a tight budget. read more

I stayed at the Doubletree for a bachelorette party this weekend. I couldn't have had a better experience! Ashley had to switch our room, and upgraded us for agreeing to the switch at no charge! The staff also sent a cheese/fruit plate and champagne to help us celebrate. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. They even helped us get to citywalk and back to make sure that we were safe! A+ all around. If you want a fantastic Orlando experience, stay at this hotel!!! read more

wont ever stay here if it was free!!! my wife and i decided to stay for our honeymoon, horrible idea. we stated it was our honeymoon during booking. they magically forgot! we spoke to the manager who supplied us with a $10 complimentary bottle of champagne. wow. next morning my wife woke up with bug bites all over her legs. management had a company come to check the room and deny everything. when the hospital stated some kind of mite bite her! this is the worst experience i have ever had i would never stay at a hilton hotel ever! nothing of this trip was good! nothing!!! would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel!! read more

I stayed 5 nights at this hotel for a work conference. The first thing was the overpowering, awful vanilla scent in the lobby. It makes me wonder what they were trying to cover up. It was so strong it triggered my asthma. The desk clerk was kind enough to give me a free bottle of water. He seemed confused when I asked for a quiet room. The room was not at all what I was expecting for a Hilton property. My room was like a 1970s style motel with a door to the outside. It smelled musty, looked dated and upon inspection I found the toilet seat to have a dirty, greasy substance all over it. Disgusting! I called housekeeping, and when I arrived back at my room after lunch and a walk the toilet had been cleaned but the cleaner left behind dirty footprints on the tile. Housekeeping is subpar at best at this hotel during my entire stay. The sink had clearly not been cleaned at all even before me because there were toothpaste stains on the faucet. When my sheets were changed there were holes in the fitted sheet. My do not disturb sign was broken, the toilet kept running one night and the air conditioning was very loud. They didn't even replace the empty toilet paper roll. Apparently a quiet room means dumpy too. The pools and outdoor areas looked nice, but I couldn't get past the camp bungalow feel of this place. A resort it is not. Laguna Restaurant is okay, but nothing special. My first day there I ate lunch. They were out of many things because the bartender didn't show up. Our server was nice and the food just fair. This hotel is disgusting, unclean and not worth your money. Stay elsewhere. Washing this hotel off in my clean shower was the first thing I did when I got home. read more

I stayed for 3 nights in late April with some friends while attending a nearby training. This is not what I have come to expect from the Hilton chain of hotels. We all had separate rooms in the tower. None of us managed a hot shower the entire stay. Lukewarm was the best we could hope for (and yes, we tried "off" hours to see if it was a supply/demand issue). In addition, the water smelled awful the entire stay; the closest I can compare is well water, if you're familiar with that. Every time you got on the 1 set of elevators (which took forever), someone was complaining about the lack of hot water. The hotel charged me for a "room water" that I never touched, and didn't catch until I was reviewing my final bill yesterday. The Laguna had good food and good wait staff, but the Market is a pure rip off. A 16oz of Nestle water is $3.50--I got the exact same bottle cheaper at Orlando International airport, which should tell you something. One morning's breakfast of the Market $8 "special" (sandwich, yogurt, OJ), plus a medium coffee and bottle of water was over $20. As an aside, if you're an Amazon prime member, Amazon Now delivers to the hotel, usually within 2 hours. I was also surprised that while the rooms are non-smoking, smoking is permitted right outside in the courtyard, less than 5 feet from the entrance to the tower and beside the Laguna dining patio. The room was ok, plenty of pillows and towels, but severely outdated and under-maintained. Overall, I think I would have had a better experience across the street at Best Western, or, well, anywhere else. read more

This is my first Yelp review. I didn't know much about this hotel except that it was close to a hospital (I had to be at the hospital at 6:30 the next morning for surgery) and it had a pool for my son to play in. I was surprised at how fancy the lobby looked but then we ended up parking outside of our room just like some sort of highway "motel." Our room lacked a microwave and a mini fridge. The coffee pot had ants in it. I was too anxious about my upcoming surgery to worry about the coffee. I tried to connect to their "complimentary" WiFi and noticed I would be charged a $19.99 resort fee, so I didn't bother connecting and stuck with using data. Oh and they were kind enough to leave two bottles of water on the desk...for $3 each. We didn't touch them. We didn't want to spend the extra money by eating from one of their restaurants so we left the hotel and grabbed dinner elsewhere. We checked out the following morning and go to the hospital for my surgery. I come home a couple days later to find I have a charge of $22.45. I call them and they charged a "resort fee." Apparently that is an automatic fee. It doesn't matter that you use their internet, book a ho-hum room, drink their water, or eat from their restaurants. You will be charged this extra fee. Why not just add that fee to the price of the room? If the room is $78 and you also charge a "resort fee" why not charge $100 and be done with it? No, $22 is not a lot of money, but I do NOT like having unknown charges come from my account. Especially when medical bills have us on a strict budget. The hospital and surgery was in Celebration, so I could have gotten a hotel just a few minutes away from there, but this one was closer within our budget so we decided it would be worth the 20 minute drive to the hospital. Now that they included the extra charges, we could have stayed at the closer hotel and made things much easier. read more

My husband, 2 dogs, and I evacuated here from the Keys during Irma (along with many, many other families with dogs from all over the state). The staff here made a difficult situation much easier. I've never seen so many dogs at a hotel, but they promptly installed doggie bag stations to keep the property picked up and clean. When the breakfast buffet line was very long on a Sunday, they moved it to one of the ballrooms on Monday so there was no wait. We did not asked to have our room cleaned since we had the 2 dogs but housekeeping promptly brought any items we needed and emptied the trash as soon as we called. Every staff member we encountered was unfailingly friendly and helpful. The property itself was also nice--2 great pools, several relaxing outdoor spots for cocktails, market serving excellent sandwiches, breakfast, pizza, and a good restaurant. We stayed in the tower and the room was nice and clean. I would definitely return to this property! read more

There are no words to describe how gross this low standard Hilton is. The security gates in & out the parking lot never worked. The director of their food & beverage at the adjoining restaurant Laguna (I think his name is Steve) was so incredibly crude and demonstrated subpar leadership skills. The computers in the "business center" never worked. It was like a seedy place where travelers off the i4 expressway bring "women of the night". The carpet in our room was disgusting & we ended up paying for bug spray because of all the tiny baby roaches crawled on the desk around the coffee machine. Both my husband & I got Styes on our eyes from the pillows - maybe from bed bugs. Not to mention it's a "pet friendly" hotel & I adore dogs. But people did not curb there dogs and as we walked to the pool or gym the stench of dog urine & fecis was beyond. Why didn't we leave? I'm glad you asked because we are Hurricane Irma victims and there was nothing available. So we stayed as long as we could until the electricity in our home was retrieved. But the fact still remains, Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at Sea World is the nastiest hotel in Orlando, Florida. read more

We are staying here now and if it wasn't such a pain, I would leave. Two more days to go. Upon check-in we were asked if we want an allergy free room. As opposed to what? We ended up in a section that was obviously an old La Quinta. It was old, musty and smelled....at least 40 years old. The carpet was badly stained and the shower hadn't been cleaned. They call these the "resort" rooms. It's an old La Quinta wrapped around a Double Tree tower people! We asked to move and after giving our list of complaints the person at the front desk acted like we were bothering him. Now we are in the tower. We were welcomed with hair and a footprint in the bath and hair on the toilet. We have always liked Double Tree but I might be done. We are scheduled to stay at one in Key West last week of January 2014. Because of this hotel, my Double Tree days may be over and I'll be canceling my Key West reservations. read more

Old, tired, worn - applies to both the hotel and us after staying there. This place is from the Florida of old. Pre-Disney, maybe even pre civil war. Yes they are undergoing a substantial renovation. Be sure not to accept a room by the construction zone. We watched some of the crew come and go - including hauling wheelbarrows in the guest elevator - and I'd stay clear. The pros: (1) Food was surprisingly good both in our catered business meetings (buffet) and at Laguna for breakfast. Made our abysmal stay bearable (2) Air conditioning in the room (in February) worked well. The cons: (1) the place is filthy - all the carpeting, the restaurant chairs and placemats (when I pointed it out to our server, she turned the placemat over; I sat on my napkin) (2) the walls are thin - even conversations in normal voice or TV on average volume is overheard (3) parking fiasco - not enough spots and you must use your room key to enter/exit lot. Half the time, the automatic machine did not work and you sat there frustrated while trying to find an attendant (4) hot water only certain at off peak times; otherwise lukewarm. Sometimes you got hot water in the shower but not the sink; other times the reverse was true. Despite all this, the place was packed when we were there. The online pictures and prices fool folks into thinking this place is actually acceptable. You've been warned. Or worn, if you so choose read more

This is the very first time I felt the need to review a hotel. However due to my experience or lack there of I have decided to express my opinion of my stay at the Double Tree SeaWorld. My husband and I decided to do a quick getaway and opted to stay here. I usually always go to what I know which is Marriott brand hotels. Starting out with check in. We were told that we would have to pay for parking $19 per day and that the resort fee of $25 per day was waived because of the company we used to book the hotel. This was the first red flag which came as a shock because I had never experienced being charged for parking at a hotel. Oh and don't forget no cookie was offered.(Just saying). Front desk representative was timid and lacked personality. My husband had to ask her to speak up many times. So moving on to the room. We opted to stay in the tower building which was dirty, damp, and smelly. My heart dropped because first impressions are lasting. The room was old and rough around the edges. We were assigned a handicapped room but never expressed needing one, which was right off of the elevator. and right outside the door was the ice machine and drink machine which never worked(Thank God imagine the noise)Again so disappointed at the quality of my room. We decided to make the best of it and vowed to never lower our standards again. We left to get a bite to eat. It was late when we returned and parking was a nightmare. My husband had to drop me off at our building and then go and hunt for a parking space. He ended up parking on the other side of the property which was nowhere near our building. This was our routine for 5 days and this is what you pay $19 a day for. On the last day my husband noticed that the carpet was wet around the wall from the bathroom around to the bed. You got it, water leak. Thank goodness we were leaving. Will NEVER patronize a Hilton brand hotel again. Oh and the beautiful grounds that they tell you about in the ads is a complete lie. The only thing that is decent is the entrance at check-in. read more
