This is a surprisingly nice resort. There are three large pools, there is hot tub and a children's pool. This resort is huge, it takes time getting anywhere. If you go there for a convention there are a ton of ballrooms, make sure you know where you are going. The lobby is beautiful, with a helpful staff and valet. The valet takes care of your car while you check in. The cleaning staff is thorough and timely. They cleaned the room quickly. The security staff is mindful of partygoers but is swift to remove people if they're causing a problem. I enjoyed the meals there because I have severe Dairy allergies and they were able to accommodate me. read more

Lord. How this can be by Hilton. Its like back to future :) so old and dirty. Only what is modern is the front desk but they forgot about rooms. No fridge, dirty carpet, pay 3$ in room for warm water. Bathroom ugly. Bed look dirty i wish i have black light :) . The cover and pillow covers are so old and ugly and feel dirty. Bed not comfort at all. Your back will kill u when u wake up. One elevator on each side for 15 floors is not enough. People are lazy walk to 1st 2nd floor its so sad. read more

We stayed here late Spring. The main tower is nice, the bellmen, security guards and housekeepers are all very helpful. Unfortunately, the parking is pricey and checking in to this place was a nightmare. We were greeted by a young lady named Alexandra and after asking to stay in the tower (as was recommended on Hotwire), she developed the RUDEST attitude! When I asked to speak with her manager, she hysterically began threatening to meet us outside. She had to be escorted to the back office by a male employee. Her manager April came to the front desk with the same attitude (not to mention the neck rolling). We stood there dumbfounded. I still can't believe that a Hilton brand would hire someone like this. The rest of the front desk staff were just as wretched. We could've booked a reservation at Point Orlando or the Sheraton. There are countless other 3.5+ star hotels on I-Drive. Unfortunately, we had to pick the Doubletree. We asked to stay in the tower after reading so many reviews advising that the smaller buildings around the complex are renovated motels that the Doubletree had acquired. Apparently, the tower is nicer and more comfortable. If there was a difference in pricing, we would've gladly paid. I seriously hope that they make some staffing changes, because this was unacceptable. When I filed a complaint with Hilton Worldwide, a representative offered me vouchers for a two night stay. I'll spend the night under a bridge before I stay at a Doubletree, especially the one at SeaWorld. read more

I recently stayed here for a conference. It was pretty nice. The room was clean, I didn't have a balcony, but I did have a fun view of the roller coasters at sea world. The hotel food was good. I would be annoyed to pay a resort fee here - which I think there is one, but as part of my conference fee, it was waived. The breakfast buffet was a good value for the money. Nice pool. I stayed in the main tower. It was overall good! Two elevators and I think one was down during my stay which made the wait long. But it wasn't a big deal. read more

This place is a little deceiving but in a good way. You never would have guessed that the rooms inside would have been as nice as they were by looking at the backwoods motel style of the outside. We pulled up and were like..."Say what?" When we walked inside we were pleasantly surprised. The bed was beyond comfortable, the room was clean and didn't have any residual odors of any kind. The shower could use an upgrade but all in all I was pleased. Now getting out of and into the lot was tricky. There were gates that were locked and unlocked at random times that would require you to do a U-turn and have to trek back through traffic to find another gate. There were dead-ins that would please any mugger that also offered a tight space to turn around to make your way back to the light. Overall we would consider staying here again if the prices were reasonable. read more

Great establishment & staff. This place is worth the stay!! My only complaints is that there is only one self-serve laundry for the entire compound & close parking for the tower is a tough at times. Overall, a great stay! read more

Starting with the booking it was a nightmare. They had the wrong reservation for me, and tried to charge me extra to get the room I had actually reserved. The front desk rep Carlos went as far as saying well that's our policy you can come tomorrow and we can see if we can accommodate you, if not You can book somewhere else. He literally wanted me to go to a different city and not know where I'm staying then he hung up on me when I requested to speak to a manager. In order for me to get the correct room I booked at the price I booked it at (according to my confirmed reservation email) I had to speak to 5 different Hilton customer service reps, until FINALLY JC who was a night time manager at the property fixed the issue. When we got to the room, it smelled moldy (I attributed this to Orlando water being stinky), the room was subpar, I would've been happier at a motel. The AC was NEVER at the temperature I clicked on the thermostat, there's no vent in the bathroom so getting ready after a shower was an absolute no no, the walls were paper thin and I could hear my neighbors regular conversation, I heard people walking and talking outside of my door, for a 20$ a day resort fee the amenities were trash the pool table and the mini golf were always wet and the sprinklers turned on on us twice. The back to the remote was falling off, the lamp, the plugs and the phone in the room didn't work the first night, then someone came to change the light bulbs but the plugs still didn't work and the front desk NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. We needed towels, no answer, we tried to call the front desk about the lamp no answer, we tried to call the front desk because of the moldy smell no answer. When the maintenance guy came to the room to change the lightbulbs and I told him about the phone not working he checked it and said no it works, the front desk people just take a long time to answer or they just don't answer, sometimes there's 2-3 people at the front desk and no one in line and they still don't answer. So the problems is so obvious that even their own employees complain about it. Now I'm trying to check out through the application so I can do contactless check out and it's not allowing me to, so I called the customer service line at 10:50am and it is now 11:38 as I'm writing this and I'm still not officially checked out... because the customer service rep on the phone is not getting through to the on site reps... surprise surprise. Now this check out issue is being escalated, they keep telling me they can't notate my account to let Hilton know that I've been on the phone with them since BEFORE 11am, they said just call back and let them know that you called before 11am... yeah, NO. OBVIOUSLY my word means absolutely NOTHING to Hilton because if it did we wouldn't have had the issues we had before chick in time on Wednesday. To have paid over 400$ at this hotel was probably the worst vacation decision I've ever made EVER. DO NOT BOOK HERE! They ruined my vacation and my first married Valentine's Day. read more

This hotel has many things to do on property. Emily Lock from the guest services team was amazing at helping us enjoy our time. Kelly at the pool bar makes you feel welcomed. Ingrid in the restaurant was awesome and cooked great food. I highly recommend this hotel and they have kids activities every day including a pool party on Saturdays. Be aware that there is a resort charge of $18 but it provides benefits that you can use. read more

I stayed a total of 1 night however we arrived at 4pm, I brought my friend and I have a younger brother who loves swimming. There were 3 pools, one as deep as 8ft & one shallow enough for young children to swim. There are also places outside to play free pool, ping pong & fuse ball*. Very enjoyable. There are a few restaurants, very accommodating for families & couples. I'm not gonna say they're by any means cheap, but what do you expect? I ate at Max's Deli, and had their pizza (worth the money). Now let's get down to the beds, that's where they lost two stars. The beds are by far the shittiest beds I've slept in. They are so uncomfortable, you could find more comfort from the ground. I hope this helps. (: read more

This hotel does not deserve it's 4-star rating for a few different reasons in my opinion. 1. $50/night deposit that they don't make clear until you check in. I'll admit that it may have been in the fine print, but it should have been clearer than that. And the worst part is that if you use a credit card, that money is locked up for almost a week. Unacceptable when you are paying in the mid-$100 range per night for a room. 2. $10/day internet access in the room. You can stay at a $30/night motel and get good free wifi. You pay 5 times that to stay in a nice hotel and it's an upcharge? 3. Most of the rooms are in motel like buildings facing the street and courtyards making the noise level more than expected. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. There are also nice pools. These are the only reasons it's getting the 3 stars that it's getting. read more

I suffered heat exhaustion after a long day at Sea World and the staff sent cookies and a free glass of wine voucher to our room. Our room was so beautiful and spacious! Talk about a disappointment. I rarely stay at Hilton properties but my friend does all the time so he booked this. CHECK-IN: When we arrived the woman at check-in wasn't very enthused, nice, but not like the welcome to Orlando I was expecting. (I am biased I use to work for Disney.) We received our cookies as we checked in. THE ROOM: We stayed in the tower. The room itself was fine King Bed, I felt like I would have been more pleased had there been a mini fridge. If you are going to stay at this hotel I recommend the tower the other rooms, look like a motel between the setup and just being older. THE POOLS: The pool bar was great, good service and tasty drinks, I had a chicken cesar salad and two different drinks. They do have a well maintained property in terms of scenery around the pool. We did meet a woman from Hilton Grand Vacations, Jessica Patterson, who was excellent, friendly and even looked up my friend's Hilton rewards number that he hadn't used on the room. She is the reason I would definitely consider another hotel line of the Hilton brand. CHECK-OUT: Housekeeping walked into our room twice just knocking once and immediately opening the door. When we received the bill the price from the 3rd party site and the price on the printed bill were different. My friend spent like 30 minutes on the phone trying to figure out what that was about. VALET: Didn't use valet but kudos to this team they were extremely attentive and kept traffic flowing. Even when they would see someone waiting around someone from the valet team would check and see if they needed any help, the shuttle or taxi. Overall there seemed to be a number of activities for kids, very family friendly property. All in all, there is a lack of parking, the pools were crowded, the amenities were basic for adults. I didn't feel it was worth the price and there are so many other vacation properties in Orlando I won't be back to this location. I just wasn't enthusiastic about this property. All in all 2.5 stars but my pleasant experience with Jessica is what gets this review 3 stars. read more

I am baffled by all the awful ratings on this place .... it's AWESOME!! Everything is clean, the staff is very friendly and the price is outstanding!! I will be staying here every time I come to orlando. There is no reason why anyone should say something about the way this place looks. It's a smaller resort but it's not like you're paying some outlandish resort fee and the hotel price on CheapTickets.com was under 100$ and that's a steal! I truly thought I was going to some gross motel and it's not. All the guests who stayed there were normal folk, it didn't have trashy people walking around. I'm staying in the tower and I like it. The bungalows look cool too I peeped inside one of them the cleaning lady said it was okay. The prices for food and drink are standard. There's no reason this place should have anything less than 4 because of its outstanding hospitality, cleanliness of the resort, amenities and comfortable rooms. You MUST check the place out you won't regret it. The only downfall is I think there is something wrong with the water. The shower water smells like something is burning. It smells like a perm. I used bottled water to brush my teeth. read more

Came here for a conference, and I'm just not impressed at all. We were a group of 100 people all staying in the main tower. Only one main elevator was in service for 2 days. It took forever to get up and down. On top of that, the Marketplace restaurant/cafe has 1 employee running the place in the morning, when all of us are trying to get coffee and a quick bite for breakfast. This one person isn't even apologetic, accommodating, or nice, and lacks basiccustomer service skills essential in a hospitality role. When I didn't feel like leaving the hotel for dinner, I didn't really have a choice because the other restaurant, Laguna, has a pretty limited menu. If you're not into Caribbean inspired dishes (like myself) then dining on premises probably won't be an option for you. Update: the business manager reached out to me (see his response below), and I have to point out that he is obviously not in-house staff. He suggested I try Sonoma bar in the lobby... I was told by Front Desk that the bar is only open during season, and that during my stay the hotel considered themselves to be out of season. I would also like to add that the elevator was repaired, worked for a day, and then broke again (photo attached). I'd also like to share that housekeeping left a garbage bag in front of the door directly across from my room for 2 days (again photo attached). I was also told that every room would have at least a refrigerator. There were no fridges in the tower rooms. Not even on the Hilton Honors floors (which I stayed in). If I wanted a refrigerator it was an additional fee of $10 a day. For someone traveling on a budget from work, that was extremely inconvenient, especially when I wanted to bring left overs back. read more

Thought this would be good place to stay and had booked 10 nights through Expedia. When I arrived they wanted to charge my credit card $50 per night or another $500 for my 10 night stay for "incidentals". I ask what "incidentals"? They said room service & things like that. Then I asked about parking and was told it was $21 per night & one of their "incidentals", would have thought that would have been mentioned when asked about incidentals. Then my room is on 2nd floor with no elevator. I'm almost 60 with medical issues so no way can I get my luggage to my room. Expedia didn't ask if I had medical issues or not. Also suppose to be pet friendly, but wasn't asked if I had a pet. They had someone bring up my luggage. I was exhausted as I had driven all night from GA. I slept for a day & a half. Phone in my room doesn't work so I had to use my phone to call about anything. Called talked to Luis. Let him know (again) phone in room doesn't work, had informed when I needed to call for assistance with luggage. Had told him in room safe doesn't work, phone doesn't work again. I was provided 2 washcloths vs 2 hand towels, no bath mat, & 3 bath towels. There is also no rubber mat in tub so hopefully I don't fall when taking shower. Told me he would send up someone to fix phone and provide towels, toiletries, and garbage bags since they aren't cleaning rooms & I'm staying 10 nights. Told him I would take shower & call him back. Could hear someone knock on door while I was in shower. I thought I told Luis to let me shower first WTF? As I got out and was drying off they knocked & opened the door as I screamed to shut the f*cking door. I was mortified. Called dowbstairs to get supervisor Emily, also not very helpful. She stated they could come in my room cause I had requested things vs apologizing. I told her I had told Luis I would be taking shower & I would call back. She said they were going to help me change rooms? WTF? Luis was "looking into this", but I was not informed of new room. New room is to accommodate my medical issues and stairs with no elevator. Would have expected much better customer service & room quality than what was received. I'm extremely upset & trying to calm down as I really don't feel comfortable staying at a place that treats folks this way. Emily said she would work with Expedia for full refund or comp my first night. Outraged & emotionally distraught at this point & not certain I would be fully compensated if refunded. Zero stars should be option for places that clearly discriminate against older, handicap folks. read more

I like this place, the tower rooms are excellent! The outer two story buildings are a little older and need help, hence the fourth star. I really like the dining options here, and the faclities here are very good. This would have one more star if it was not for the outer buildings. Staff is outstanding, they are courteous, and give great service. read more

I just finally got home from the worst experience of my life. This weekend was my daughter's 8th birthday so I took a few days off work and surprised her w Animal Kingdom @Disney. We stayed at this hotel and I am still trying to process everything. We woke up this morning to find lice in the beds. My daughter and my nephew and Ofcourse myself ALL had bugs and eggs in our heads. My daughter and I had to drive to a nearby Super Cuts and cut our hair 4 Inches each due to the situation. It took 7 hours today for the three of us to be treated. I am so beside myself. I know when I wake up tomorrow this whole nightmare will hit me again when I see how short my hair is. It will continue to remind me until my 4 inches grow back. I have no words to describe what we went through today. We missed an entire day of Orlando activities because we had to get our hair treated from lice. I have photos and receipts and still await for a follow up from mgmt which I never got. My brother called the hotel and never got anyone to call him back since his son was with us on the trip. I am sick to my stomach and this seriously was the worst experience of my life. It's been three days and nobody has called me to follow up about my experience. I created a file and nobody has called. Maybe if I had a law suit someone would follow up read more

Great location for a Seaworld visit. You can walk from the property. Good value for a clean, comfortable room and beds . Nice family resort with three pools, mini golf, hot tub, toys. I stayed in tower. Restaurant was good. Snack deli on site. Economical resort if you have kids and easy walk to Seaworld . Only one of three pools heated but it worked out as it wasn't too crowded. Nice grounds and great staff. Village Inn across the street along with a SubWay shop and gas station quick mart. Beds pillows and sheets well taken care of and were comfortable. Not the Ritz but not the Ritz prices! I recommend as a must especially if visiting Seaworld as the convenience is worth it. The only negative is $10 a day to park there. read more

3.5 stars...My family and I stayed here free for a weekend (our free stay had no relation to the hotel) so I can't review this place based on price vs. stay; it'll be strictly based on my observation and experience. We arrived on a Friday evening. Check-in was easy (starts at 3:00p), and we all got warm chocolate chip walnut cookies along with our room keycards. Yum. Our room was in building 4, which was facing the parking lot along Westwood Boulevard. I think there are several 2-story and 3-story buildings (building 4 was a 2-story building) and a main tower that is 17 stories high. Our building felt more like a motel, especially with it being on ground level, where people walked by our window (we kept the curtains shut the whole time). The even numbered rooms were facing the garden and the odd numbered rooms were facing the parking lot, which was initially confusing to find. Considering the humidity here, I was surprised that our room didn't include a mini fridge (saw on their website that only deluxe rooms have a fridge, and they charge $10/nt if request for rooms that don't), and our bathroom was handicapped accessible (small bathroom with just tub and toilet, so the bars got in the way). The beds were not comfortable for hubby and I (kids didn't notice though). Other than that, it was a decent room with name brand bath products...sufficient enough for a 2-night stay. Due to our tight schedule, we only visited the deli, which is located around the corner of Bamboo Grill and Bangli restaurants. It was a quick and easy way to eat breakfast/lunch and/or grab some drinks/snacks on the go. Not as cheap (I think it was $12 for just a wrap, no sides), but then again, we're on tourist territory. They have a complimentary shuttle that goes to various locations. The obvious ones being SeaWorld and Aquatica, which has several pick-up/drop-off times throughout the day. If I remember correctly, it goes to Disney and Universal too, but there was only one drop-off time in the morning and one pick-up time from that location in the evening according to their September 2014 schedule. I do suggest taking this shuttle to SeaWorld and Aquatica even though they are close by because some areas don't have sidewalks if walking there, and it gets really hot when the sun is out and wet during hurricane season. We also utilized the trolley that went up and down International Drive (operates 8:00a-10:30p). There is a stop #29 nearby (Red Line North Bound in front of hotel, and Red Line South Bound right across the street from there). Passes can be purchased from the concierge, which is located at the right end of the lobby where the courier signs are (if coming in from hotel entrance). One day pass is $5pp, 3-day pass $7pp, 5-day pass $9pp, 7-day pass $12pp, and 14-day pass $18pp (single fare is $2 for adult and $1 for child 3-9, exact cash only paid on trolley - can't buy passes on trolley). It was nice to not have to drive the busy International Drive ourselves, but there are a lot of stops so the further our stop, the longer it took to get there. Check-out was as easy as check-in (11:00a), and since our flight back to CA was in the evening, we were able to stash our luggage at the bell desk for free and enjoy our last day in FL. Besides the accommodations, the staff here were all very friendly and generously helped us out when we needed it. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Staff has listened to the following incident, but continues to say "you should bear back from someone soon about this"..... Right before noon one day this week I called "0" to get a few shower caps to use during my stay here. When I called the woman who answered repeated what I ordered and I requested 3. As she repeated it it seemed as if she was writing (or typing) it somewhere to have someone deliver to the room. Well, 20 minutes later there is ONE knock at the door. I had already gotten out of the shower at that point (couldn't wait 20 mins for a shower cap) and I was walking around wearing no clothing as I was preparing to dress myself. As I heard the knock I yelled one minute as I rushed to grab my towel. Well....within a minute or so the staff member (do not know name, but happy to describe what he looked like. I ran behind the door as I was mortified of him VOLUNTARILY walking in on me. And I said "hi, I'm changing". He says " oh, did someone say they had a shower clog in this room?" I said "absolutely not, I asked for 3 shower caps. He said " oh sorry (as he smacked his head), I will get some". Well needless to say we waited another 10 minutes and had no choice other than to leave for our 1:00pm seminar at the Orange County Convention Center. Their food is terrible as well. The staff cross contaminates. I ordered an omelet this morning and the staff member used her gloves to grab the meat, veggies and then used the same gloves along to way to open door, etc. GROSS! The smell of the indoor dining area alone makes you sick to your stomach. read more

Spent Saturday night there with a group of friends. The hotel looked great from the outside, the lobby is nice and a pool area looks great too, however are rooms "at the tower" were out of date and smelled horrible. We stayed on the 14th floor and had 7 rooms, all of us thought the rooms smell very bad, musty like an unaired, dump basement. The carpets felt wet and dirty. The bedsheets were wet too.The ceiling had blackish gray mold stains near the AC went. I personally was very disappointed about that it was a Double Tree HILTON,I don't know how such an A class hotel chain could give out rooms like that. The rooms felt dirty and I could barely sleep. I'll start by saying that I will not stay at this hotel again. When we first got to our room, I was excited to be staying at a Doubletree Resort due to prior good experiences with Doubletree. Upon entering the bathroom, there was hair in the tub and the shower curtain was missing buttons/torn. We flipped on the tv and there were two lines running across the screen. Ok- no big deal. We are not on vacation to watch tv. I began to feel that I was coming down with a cold so decided to get to sleep early and sleep in the next day. Not possible! The housekeeping carts were LOUD as well as the staff as they were chatting and slamming doors. We were in the shorter buildings that are supposed to have a resort view. I did complain about this and we were moved to a room in the tower which was thankfully very quiet. This hotel should NOT be called a resort. There is nothing resort like about this place. I feel like we were robbed by having to pay a resort fee. There is a very sad putting green and arcade, several pools which are decent, and several food/drink options which were decent. Do not expect to be able to take any leftovers or even keep beverages cold during your stay because there is no mini fridge in the room, nor microwave. You can use the community microwave in the Market downstairs to warm up your dinner if you'd like. (We were there for 6 days so these amenities are not really optional at that point.-- granted if I did detailed research maybe I would have discovered that these are not offered; however, at the rate I was paying and it being called a resort, I didn't think I would need to research this.) I complained about the refrigerator as well and we were offered a complimentary mini fridge and "all American breakfast" for both members of our party. We did not end up using the breakfast voucher as we were very busy and I could not figure out what an all American breakfast is (it is not on the menu). The front desk did offer the gesture of sending me soup and ginger ale when they found out I was sick which was appreciated. Overall, the stay was just ok. I would not stay here again or recommend it but we came out unscathed. I just expect higher quality from Doubletree, Hilton, and a hotel calling itself a resort. read more

When I checked in with a coworker, I requested a refrigerator. The gentleman checking me in said that he would get me one, no problem. Never mentioned it was at a price and I was fully willing to pay for one. My coworker was a honors member and he got an upgrade, a fridge and 2 free breakfasts, no problem. I waited till almost midnight for my fridge and called to ask about the status. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude and told me I don't get one because I was not a high level honors member. I explained that the gentleman that checked me I'm said he was going to send one up to me free of charge. I offered to pay and she would not take my payment over the phone. Since it was midnight, I was not about to get dressed and walk two buildings over to give her my credit card. Now my medicine as well as my food is now questionable because it was to remain refrigerated. It's one thing to state that I had to pay, and I would have at check in; it's another to Renege on a agreement and then be greeted with a horrible attitude from your front desk. The employees here make this place not worth returning. I will suggest to my travel department that we find another vender. read more

I didn't understand when booking that I was getting a room that wasn't in the tower which is my bad, but still the room was nasty. I really wish I would've known that they had a separate motel area from the actual hotel tower because there can't be any way the rooms in the tower are as bad as these motel rooms. This is my second attempt at staying at this hotel. The first time had a room that was Motel style and all night housekeeping pushed carts on the sidewalk outside my room and security guards with walkie talkies blaring kept walking by. Didn't sleep through the night. This time my room is in main tower but Saturday housekeeping is "Banging" at the door asking me when Im leaving, then 5 minutes later another housekeeper comes by , a man, and does the same thing, this time he "Opens the door," unannounced! Thankfully I was dressed!!! Sunday morning, my one day to sleep in, (at late conference classes the night before) and I was awoken out of a dead sleep at 9:00 am by the housekeeper "Banging" on my door. Stupid me thought I could "sleep in," check out is not until 11am. Reported it to housekeeping and front desk and guess what "They could care less." Avoid this hotel, their main concern is getting their jobs done and they make guests feel like they are in the way and an "Inconvenience!!!" read more

So before I even start, I'm going to admit that I'm probably going to sound like a complete snob. But I'm bothered enough to leave a review, which I rarely do, so I think it's only fair that others who are researching read this. First - if you are a diamond member, please don't even think about staying at this property. The rooms, service, and accommodations are not even close to anything that you would expect from being a diamond member and getting treated with "preferential" treatment of any kind. Second, the only reason we booked this location was because we were limited on which Hilton properties would accommodate pets and this was one of the few. This was a trip where I had to bring my pup because of other circumstances. The reviews seemed pretty good and everyone seemed to have great things to say. So, I booked two rooms for our trip. The lobby is really nice which is misleading. The rooms are outdated, smelled like cigarettes, we had to move once and requested a room without carpet, as that's what we thought we were booking based on the pictures of the room. The initial manager we dealt with for the room move was very nice, and helped with those changes. However, we found out that most of the rooms have carpet and do not look like the photos online. The breakfast was a typical Doubletree/Hampton inn type of breakfast, but they do have a bar so mimosas helped make the breakfast taste better. However the real reason I'm writing this is because of the experience I had with the overnight manager person, who needs to go back to training as far as how to provide customer service to their guests, especially diamond members who spend a crap ton on Hilton properties yearly and could easily choose another hotel chain to give their money and status to. After a full day at the park, we are tired, cranky, exhausted, dirty and just plain miserable and the last thing anyone wants to do is try to call the concierge or front desk for over an hour (maybe 10 times) for them to provide additional towels and to request late check out. After calling multiple times, I had to put my clothes back on and drag myself to the lobby, to then wait in a line where other guests are checking in, to get to the front desk and explain that you've called 10 times for towels and late check out and no one answered, for the "manager on night duty" to be the one helping you and not even apologize for the inconvenience and them to tell you (when you request a 2 pm departure) that the latest they can do is 1 pm and that's the max or they have to charge. Now, any gold or diamond member knows that is just plain crap. They can make any exceptions they want to. We all know it because every Hilton we have ever have stayed at has done it before ....multiple times. We aren't asking for something crazy - it's just an extra hour. And of all times to make an exception - when you just completely inconvenienced your guest and made them come down to the lobby to wait in a line, all because the 4 people you had working at the desk couldn't answer the phone????? Please. Then..icing on the cake...other guests at this hotel are completely sketchy. We woke up to two drunk guests arguing outside of our room at 3 am. My daughter woke up in tears, scared out of her mind because of the commotion. Obviously, we were all startled, but this was just weird and made us feel unsafe. Others guests are outside smoking weed, drunk by the pool. Just not at all our thing. It was awful. My point in my rant is: of all the properties to stay in this location, this is certainly not one that I would waste my money staying at ever again. read more

I stayed here for 4 days for a conference this past May with my research group. I absolutely loved this hotel. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, since I seem to remember staying in a Doubletree many years ago and not being all that impressed. I thought the rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. I didn't stay in the tower but one of the guys on my team did and he said it was really nice. The lobby, restaurant and pool areas were all very pretty and tropical. I especially loved the long patio and spent most nights lounging at one of the tables with my laptop and a few beers I purchased from the little convenience store thats on site. Yes, you have to pay for parking and wifi in your room. I get that its annoying but pretty much every where I've stayed in the past does the same thing so I guess I've just come to expect it. There is free wifi in the lobby and around the pool and patio areas, with plenty of couches, tables and chairs to relax in. I thought the staff were friendly and helpful as well. Really no problems at all with my stay and I fully enjoyed myself! read more

On my way to the Doubletree, my boyfriend decided to yelp the Hotel to check it out. We were scared with the reviews we read but decided to give it a chance. When we got to the lobby, everything seemed fine. The staff was friendly, check-in turn time was quick, and the lobby looked clean. My disappointment began when I got to my room. First, there was no elevator and my room was on the second floor. We had to lug our heavy luggage up a flight of stairs. This is already in convenient and we dreaded having to lug the luggage back down the next day. We didn't even make it to the next day. As soon as we opened the room, there was a strong smell (I couldn't pin point what the smell was but it was not pleasant). The smell was unbearable for me and gag. We decided to leave right away and check in to the Peabody Hotel about a mile away. I would not recommend this hotel. The lobby and staff are nice and the warm cookies upon arrival are a plus...but what's the point if you can't even stand to sleep or spend some time in your room. read more

Let me start off by saying this is the WORST doubletree I've ever experienced and I signed up for yelp just to warn others!!! My family and I needed an hotel for one night after our week long stay at Disney world's contemporary resort. We figured you can't go wrong with a doubletree. WRONG ! The parking surrounding the entire hotel sucks. There is VIP/valet parking in the front with a few (maybe 5) parking spaces for the rest of the guest trying to check into the hotel. Afterwards you will go through a gate and pay to park. If you leave out in the middle of the night to grab a bite to eat plan on walking a slight distance to get back to your room. Our room wasn't in the tower as requested but instead in the renovated motels in front of the tower. We should have left then. Actually I would have been fine with leaving this doubletree and checking in down the street at the Sheraton. The lighting in the room was dim, thin sheets, our air was stuck on high the entire time, plus there was a musty feel to the room. Our shower Curtin was ripped in multiple places, and there was multiple stains in the corners of the bathtubs. Plus the bathrooms in the renovated motels are extremely small. What put the icing on the cake for my family never coming back to this doubletree in Orlando was waking up with multiple bug bites on both our legs and arms. (I had two kids with me age 6 and 12 both with bug bites). No one had any bug bites prior to arriving at the hotel. I actually plan to call doubletree's corporate office about my stay for the price this hotel is definitely not worth it. It's nothing more than an day's inn with doubletree's name slapped on it. I wish I could give this place zero stars. read more

Filthy, dark rooms in disrepair. Disgusting! I stay in a lot of hotels for business, usually Hilton properties, and this is by far the worst hotel room I've ever had. Lots of mold in the bathroom; there was thick dust on the wall blowing in the breeze from the fan. I thought it must have been spider webs but looking closer itwas just really thick dust. ew! The tap water tasted and smelled awful. The air conditioning was good and kept things nice and cool on a very hot day. read more
