We had issue after issue that never stopped and was never resolved. It started with a lack of communication. After the quote and deposit was issued to Alamo, the sales rep reached out advising the workers would be out "tomorrow" to fix the roof because of the weather. About 2 hours later, the techs showed up at our house to fix the roof during a blizzard. We suggested they come back the next day for their safety and the quality of the job. The tech said he "had 26 years of experience, don't worry!" Instead of waiting to ensure the job could be completed appropriately due to the weather, the tech proceeded to "fix" the roof. This was done by drilling the piece of metal flashing ON TOP of the roof shingles instead of where it belonged, between the shingles and the roof. Thus, creating new penetration points on the roof. There was also an excessive amount of caulk used everywhere! The technician assured me that the job was right, and if there were any further issues to call him personally. Being a Facilities Director, I wanted to follow up and check on the job to make sure it was completed correctly. Once I got up to the roof, this is what I came across. (See pictures) I found out about the metal and the caulk, and the extremely incorrect way to fix a roof. We now have more problems than what we started with! After multiple calls to Alamo, it took almost a week and a half to receive a call back. Once I spoke with a manager, I was told they were going to send out a "reputable crew" to fix what was done wrong. When the day finally came to have the roof fixed, we had 1 of the ORIGINAL 2 men come back out to fix it! I'm sorry, what? He proceeds to go up and try to remove the caulk and ends up removing some of the finishing paint off the gutter where the caulk was. Then informs me he needs to come out another day because he doesn't have the right shingles. Then he REMOVES the piece of metal from the roof and leaves. So now, we literally have HOLES in the roof where the metal flashing was drilled on top of! At this point, we decided to ask for a refund of our deposit because each time they came out, we ended up with more issues than we had started with. The ball had been dropped over and over again, and we decided it better to seek out someone else to fix the, now, MULTIPLE ISSUES we have instead of just the one we started with. I received an email from the General Manager stating they would refund the deposit we made if we signed a Settlement Agreement that states they hold no legal responsibility to the issues they created now or in the future, and that we were unable to speak about the issues to others or on media platforms. This wasn't a settlement. We weren't suing them in court and coming to an agreed upon amount of money to get for the issues that they caused. We just wanted OUR money back that we already paid for the work that was supposed to be completed. After multiple emails back and forth, it was clear that they would not refund any of our money unless we signed some type of Settlement Agreement, even though there was some verbiage change. The last 2 emails sent to the General Manager were completely ignored. It has been about 2 weeks with no response. We can only imagine that he is ignoring the issue so that we and the issue would just go away. We just wanted to get the money back that we put out for a small job that was supposed to be completed and wasn't. In the end, if you value your time, money and property, don't use Alamo Roofing! Go with a company that is honest and trustworthy, because Alamo isn't!!

Their price was good , and they did an excellent job in a punctual time frame, The only delay that I had was weather related due to several fall rain storms. The crew was courteous and professional. When they were done there wasn`t any debris left behind like I have seen done by some other contractors.

On the positive side, he informed me that my roof had sustained hail damage and that I should contact my insurance company. With that knowledge, I contacted my insurance agent and reported the damages. In the end, I received an insurance claim to cover the damages. The problem I have with Sanchez Roofing is that they would not give me an estimate of the repairs until they saw the insurance claim coverage. While I certainly am not looking to profit off of the insurance claim, I do not want to pay more than I should. I reluctantly provided the full insurance claim report and wouldn't you know it; their estimate was exactly the same as the insurance claim. Here's the caveat. Since my actual loss was last year (but unbeknownst to me), my insurance company withheld what they call depreciation. This was a significant amount totally approximately 15% of the overall claim. So the check I received was 15% less than the damages. Sanchez Roofing estimate was for the full amount of the insurance claim before the depreciation. Bottom line, my new roof would have cost me $2,500 more than the insurance company was providing. But wait, there's more! Like any shrewd homeowner, I contacted multiple companies when contemplating a major home renovation. Two companies were spot on with the insurance claim amount (after the depreciation amount had been deducted). The interesting thing is that one of them was aware our roof was an insurance claim and the other was under the assumption this was an out of pocket expense. Regardless, both (highly rated) companies were cheaper than Sanchez Roofing. One of them - $2500 and the other more than $3500. I understand each company has different overhead costs and thus estimates can vary significantly. If their quote had been provided before the insurance claim report and was higher I would NOT have had a problem with them being significantly higher and might have even chosen them based upon their reviews. However, their reluctance to provide a timely (before insurance) and competitive bid places them at the bottom.
