Great hotel with reasonable rates. Pet friendly and rooms are very spacious. I didn't try any of their amenities but they didn't look nice and up to date.

The back space is breathtaking, and even better yet, they are double booked for weddings so they can share the beautiful space! The service, Tim, was awesome. So knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant. They normally don't allow the space in the back to be open for dinner but for us they made the exception! For dinner I had the meatloaf, I love me some comfort food. Honestly it tastes like it was nuked so it wasn't my taste, hence the rating, but the space makes up for it! The best thing, you get vouchers for their good continental breakfast and one free drink when you stay at the hotel.

Mostly a bar crowd, amost 100% male on Tuesday.

Note: This review is for the Karma Pub only, the dining area of this hotel. From the pictures posted here you can easily deduce that this is primarily a bar but it also has a reasonably good food menu. We came here on a Tuesday night and from the number of cars in the parking lot near the door to the restaurant section, we thought it was going to be deserted. It turns out that this bar has a substantial crowd from the guests of the hotel. Most of them seemed only to be drinking. There are several tables near the back of the room that are of the reasonable height for dining and we found a spot there. The menu here is fairly eclectic and we ordered the butter chicken and the three meat Italian panini. The chicken was as authentic as in any nearby Indian restaurant and the panini while fairly mild was well-made and stuffed with meat. It was served with a choice of sides; we had the tater tots. Service on this night was provided by the bartenders and they did an excellent job. Locals who are passing up this place because they think of it as a typical hotel bar are missing out on some great casual dining.

So yesterday, I got a bowl of great French Onion Soup. Browned on top and all. Today I get a microwaved-cup of French Onion Soup. Tastes good, but come on.

Karma Pub, attached to the hotel, serves a tasty burger, fries, and pickle. Mark, the bartender, was attentive and friendly.

Parking is fairly plentiful, though the entire shopping center is so busy you might not be able to park super close to the restaurant during normal meal hours. The decor is nice, with appropriate themes for a breakfast restaurant and the seating is comfortable. Service is not super fast, but not too slow for a spot that is this busy. The food is really the star here, in terms of the items offered and in the quality of ingredients, good textures, and design of the dishes. I was very pleased that every dish I tried was minimally very good, and flavorful. The burritofull morning sounds like a standard breakfast burrito, but the flat iron steak was spiced to perfection and tender. The mix of chorizo, roasted peppers, chipotle crema, and salsa verde were surprisingly not too salty and really helped to enhance the flavor of the steak. The crispy hash browns, onions, and chihuahua cheese helped to round out the remainder of this dish with some carbs and a bit of fat, resulting in a very enjoyable dish with nice crispy potatoes on the side. The chicken fried chicken skillet mixed a lot of flavorful elements without being too salty. The golden fried chicken is tender inside, with almost a crispy tempura style batter and is mixed with honey smoked bacon, sausage, and griddled country ham. The bell peppers, and onion add a nice sweetness and extra aroma to the dish. This is topped off with a fairly light sausage gravy, cheddar, and jack cheeses. The potatoes matched well with the gravy, but also helped to absorb some of the fat from the meats. The overall combination was delicious and something I'd definitely order again. The banoffee pie pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've had in the last year. Light and super fluffy is not an understatement. Topped with bananas and lots of chocolate chips and chocolate curls, this is intense without being overly sweet or indulgent. The toffee sauce lightly blends in with the other ingredients and the graham cracker crumbles add a nice, almost banana pie feel to the dish. Highly recommended as a very balanced and delicious option. The corned beef hash and eggs may have been one of the best dishes to show off pure ingredient quality. This is house-made corned beef that is extremely tender and not too salty. A simple mix of green peppers, red peppers, and onions really allow the meat quality to shine without distraction, with crispy potatoes to add a bit of starch to the dish. The tres leches french toast was masterfully done, eggy, thick, with just the right level of firmness. The coconut flakes were an amazing combination with the milks, and cinnamon whipped cream, hazelnut syrup, and coconut cream elevated the flavors without making the entire dish too sweet. My only comment is that compared to other items on the menu, the serving of this felt a bit small for the price. The lil'bit of chicken fried is not your average chicken sandwich. This is quality throughout the entire dish from the buttered brioche down to the perfectly cooked chicken. The biggest surprise for me is the pickles, which have the perfect texture and level of acid. This goes great with the sweet potato fries which are lightly crisp and quite flavorful. Overall, this place gets busy and the prices are a bit higher than other competitors in the area. But the quality of the cooking here makes it worth the wait.

I was raised in a bakery so take that with this review. Biscuits are my go-to. With a name like…read moreButtermilk, there is a level of expectation involved to living up to that name. It did not. The restaurant has a lovely aesthetic with the clean black on white patterns throughout. The open floor carries the noise so don't expect much with that. Even though I was the first person seated for the day, service was not great. When I ordered my breakfast (ham and cheese omelette with honey biscuit and a buttermilk biscuit on the side, the honey biscuit came, but after waiting for about 10 minutes, I had to flag down the manager to get my buttermilk biscuit. No refill on my drink either. The omelette was fine. It was a folder omelette and the flavor was pretty good. The biscuits are such: the honey biscuit is a drop biscuit with a slight taste of a honey glaze on top. It was fairly dense as most drop biscuits are. The buttermilk biscuit was just a folded biscuit, but it looks like it was folded at most twice. Here is the thing with folded biscuits, if you over mix the dough, it doesn't expand. If you don't use frozen butter, it won't lighten and create the necessary steam. Then you have a dense brick of biscuits dough. If you don't make your own buttermilk, you'll end up without the slight tang buttermilk is known for. I don't think Buttermilk lives up to the name. For me, it was a disappointment. I had high hopes.

So today we asked the server if we had any points to use and indeed we did not sure what happened on our last visit. Wildberry is by far our place to go both in Libertyille and in the loop, the service is outstanding and the menu is great. We recommend Wildberry to friends and family. I would give them more stars if I could. Not sure what happened when the server would not allow us to use our point, we all make mistakes from time to time.

I kept it simple with two eggs over easy, hash browns, turkey sausage, and sourdough toast. It was a solid breakfast, cooked well, and I enjoyed it. My wife ordered her usual favorite, Eggs Benedict, along with a pistachio iced coffee. The coffee was outstanding and easily her favorite part of the meal, but unfortunately, the Eggs Benedict didn't quite live up to our expectations. In hindsight, we probably should have ordered what Wildberry is best known for--the pancakes or waffles. Seeing so many of them coming out of the kitchen made us think we may have missed out on the restaurant's true specialties. One thing that absolutely stood out was the service. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making for a very pleasant dining experience. While our breakfast was a little underwhelming overall, I'd definitely be willing to give Wildberry another try on our next trip to Chicago. Next time, we'll skip the traditional breakfast plates and go straight for the pancakes or waffles that made this place famous.
