On a random Saturday we decided to take a drive out and explore the place, and hopefully find some gifts for Christmas. Revay's is a combination nursery and gift shop. We didn't fully explore the nursery since we weren't shopping for plants, but it appeared to be well-labeled and orderly, containing a number of options for outdoor planting or indoor plants. The gift shop was large, with a number of crafts and gift options. Since it is holiday time, a good number of the items were holiday-related (such as Christmas decorations and ornaments). There was an area with some train sets that looked neat, and a number of glass/ceramic items if you collect them. The staff was very friendly and polite, and helpful when we had questions regarding pricing. They were also efficient in getting us checked out and moving on to the next customer. Overall it was a pleasant experience, and we will likely be back in the future. (One note - while they do accept credit cards, they do NOT accept American Express).

I originally appreciated Anthony's knowledge and service--until it came time to return leftover pavers from a walkway project. After being told over the phone that I could return the excess with my receipt, I loaded 300 pounds of materials into my car. When I arrived, however, Anthony was unexpectedly rude and refused the return, citing a policy about needing a "complete pattern"--something no one explained to me beforehand. Frustrated but civil, I managed to return only the edging stones for $48.11, but instead of refunding the amount to my card, they *charged* me again. When I returned to resolve the issue, I was met with sarcasm: "That's how Harkins makes money." Not funny when you've already spent time, effort, and trust in a local business. Harkins may have quality materials, but the lack of clear communication and professionalism turned what should've been a simple transaction into a frustrating ordeal. Be cautious in your dealings with them.

We bought a…read more Dogwood tree in October and it is not doing well, which may be partly due to the harsh winter, and I wanted to ask about replacement policy. Their flowers and trees are beautiful, and I just assumed wrongly that there was a six month or one year warranty as is often the case. Should you purchase their products in the fall, please know the plant would have to die shortly after planting in order for it to be replaced.

The pricing was more than fair as I had them deliver more mulch to finish areas in my front yard. Great place to shop vs the Big Box stores where employees don't even look you in the eye.

A short time later, an employee came out and told us our order had been voided because the owner wanted us to leave. When I calmly asked the owner why, he became extremely aggressive and started yelling that we were rude, that he was rich and didn't need customers, and that we needed to get off his property or he would have us for trespassing. He was also yelling at other customers, telling them to videotape if they wanted and to leave if they didn't like what they were seeing. The entire experience felt surreal because nothing had occurred to justify that reaction. It was an incredibly hostile and intimidating environment. Watching the way the owner treated his employees was equally disturbing. He was calling them lazy and useless. I will never support a business where customers and employees are treated this way, and I would strongly encourage others to think twice before renting equipment here.

We got the stone pillars pictures after he showed us some in his displays on the wonderful property where AWG is located. So many beautiful fountains plus a large selection of Koi and water plants. He enticed us further by showing us a fire feature that was and option with the fountain we got. We did the install on our own and he was incredible with walking us through it step by step. He was there when we had small or big questions and was so friendly. He takes the time to leave his customers satisfied and happy which is the hallmark of a great businessman.
