Adam was extremely helpful and saw to that our media team the day of was informed of what we were looking for. They exceeded our expectations, communicated thoroughly throughout the entire wedding day and were incredibly sweet. We received our wedding media under 3 months and couldn't have been happier. I've looked through the pictures countless times, watched the 4 minute highlight reel multiple times as well.. plus we got the documentary film which was about an hour long. As any bride planning a wedding knows, there are so many huge decisions that you have to make and so many different people that you have to put all of your trust into. For me personally, one of the most important decisions I needed to make was choosing a photographer and videographer as these are the only people who can truly help preserve every moment of our wedding day. I was an out of state bride (I live in Seattle but go married in Austin), and did SO much research into finding the right fit for us that was within a reasonable budget. After countless phone calls and emails with different photo/video teams, something just clicked when I found Double Knot. From beginning to end, they were just seamless. Most of our initial communication was via email and Adam was always extremely responsive and answered all of my crazy questions. My first major decision, and my best one, was hiring Double Knot for our February wedding at Log Country Cove (also a wonderful decision!). I flew to Austin a few months before our wedding and was able to meet with Adam and Kayla in person. I left feeling such a sense of relief as I knew that I was in good hands. It was actually kind of funny because when we left (my neighbor who is in her 50s) commented on how young they were. And that's what I loved! As someone who went to art school herself, I know how crucial it is to have someone who actually is up to date on everything. Photography and videography are both arts individually, but there is so much behind the scenes work (hours and hours of editing) that are required for weddings and I knew that I wanted a team that was fresh, current and hungry. That is 100% what you get with Double Knot. Adam and Kayla have this awesome balance of extreme professionalism but also of making you feel like they are friends that you've known for years. I was comfortable around them and it came through in all of the photos and videos. Wedding morning/day was complete chaos for me and I was finishing up so many last minute things. Adam was there to listen to my crazy banter, and even add in some himself, and somehow I think his presence actually calmed me down in some of those moments. Even when I was talking a mile a minute and anxiously joking, Adam was just chill and relaxed. I think that if I had an older team I just wouldn't have been as laid back as I was. *not knocking older photographers...just sayin' that this definitely played into my comfort level during a stressful morning. The Double Knot team really took the the reigns setting up some beautiful shots and just let me and my bridesmaids do our thing. The Groomsmen were all getting ready at a different house on property, and yet still, Adam and Kayla managed to capture so many wonderful moments at both. My husband and the groomsmen clearly felt comfortable around them because some of their group photos are hilarious! Kayla has such awesome direction with her photography and really feeds off of your energy. She's tiny and just quietly bopped around getting those amazing candid shots that I know every bride wants. She was like a Prius! She got some shots of me and I didn't even know she was there. Kayla was super efficient with all of our family photos and gave great direction. We have a big family and there were a lot of moving parts, but with some pre-planning they were able to really keep it flowing. Thanks to the smoothness of family photos, we really got to have a lot of fun with bride and groom shots. Kayla and her team were amazing! We thought we'd feel awkward being photographed together for the first time, but they made us feel so at ease and really soak in every single moment as husband and wife. They went above and beyond in every way; climbing up on things to get certain shots, fanning me off because it was so hot, you name it, they were on it. Post-wedding communication was great. Everything came as promised, on time, and exceeded all expectations. The only thing they didn't tell me up front was how emotional everything would make me! When looking at the photos, I cried, I laughed, and everything in between. Just when I'd see a photo I knew I wanted framed, I'd see another, and another...and another. And this is when I realized how glad I am that we added the photo album. I will cherish these photos for the rest of my life, but the one thing that I will be able to watch and get all of those wedding day "feels" back with is the Highlight video that Adam created. It's pure magic. I cannot even begin putting into words how it makes me feel every time I watch it. The abundance of love, the joy, the sense of family, and our personalities all came through in every second of the video. Photography and videography do so much more than preserve memories. They give you feeling. With each photo I look at, and each time I watch the highlight video, I go back to remembering how happy I was on my wedding day. I hired Double Knot Pictures for our wedding 1 year ago in Austin. They were immediately responsive with questions about my style and what sort of pictures I wanted. I felt that Adam was interested in the vision that I wanted. Adam and his team caught some amazing moments at our wedding. I STILL look back at my photos and videos and can't stop smiling. It's the closest thing to reliving it. I received a photo peak almost immediately after the wedding and a highlight video no more than a month after. Although they did a great job on my highlight video, they failed to get the most important photos ever, me(the bride) in my dress all alone, and zero pictures of me and my bridesmaids dressed, and zero of me and my mother...(my only parent) nothing of my mom zipping my dress, nothing of me and my bridesmaids who put in a lot of effort to be there with me. But somehow got photos of the food that was served? Are you kidding me? I'm so disappointed. The amount of money I put into this company. From the minute I met Adam, it was like he was going to take care of us the entire night - which is exactly what you need from a wedding team! We are absolutely blown away by double knot pictures. Adam was incredibly amazing to work with. His personality was wonderful, his professionalism immaculate and his talent truly unmatchable. I hired Double Knot after meeting them at an Austin bridal show last January. After visiting their website and combing through beautiful wedding after wedding, I met Adam and Kayla in person at their studio where they work to see if they'd be a good fit for our day. They were a dream to work with even from the beginning. My husband and I were skeptical about spending a lot on photo and video but we are so happy we did. They put our video to songs we both love and captured so many moments we didn't even get to see on the day. My family and I have probably watched it 50 times now and I can't wait to relive the day through that video as we both get older. Kayla was our main photographer and she was so polite and professional and made everyone feel confident and beautiful. She was able to get such natural expressions on everyone's faces and you can really feel the motion of the dancing from the dance floor photos. The photos turned out perfect after I requested some edits (I asked if I could get a scar on my arm that i'm kinda weird about removed from the photos) and they turned my new album (no scar!) around in a week. They even went back into the raw photos to get us more group shots with different expressions even when they already went above the number of photos they told me to expect from the package I purchased. They were so understanding and professional about every change we requested and I am over the moon happy with the final result. I'm not going to lie- I was a much pickier bride than I thought I was going to be. That ESPECIALLY included picking a videographer. And I was not disappointed with Double Knot Pictures. Adam and Jorge were early to our venue, incredibly polite, and got to filming right away. We were crazy busy getting ready with 10 bridesmaids and myself but they filmed around us no problem. They shot every part of the ceremony and reception not missing even the tiniest detail. When we received our highlight reel I watched it on repeat in (happy) tears! The video quality was amazing and every shot captured such a sweet memory. These guys are truly talented. The story they told with the film captured our wedding day SO perfectly and nothing beats being able to relive that magical night over and over. As someone who works in the film industry, I was a bit picky when it came to deciding who would capture my big day, but I couldn't be happier with what Double Knot delivered to me. These guys are AWESOME. As someone who loves watching my family's old home movies (and who also works in film), I knew that our wedding video was very very important to me. I was blown away by the amazing job Adam did. On our wedding day, they were so great about getting the best shots but not feeling too in your face. And they captured the personalities of our guests, getting really funny shots of people dancing and joking. When Adam sent our highlight reel, I couldn't help but cry. The transitions were incredible, the perfect moments he captured, it was all so so good. They captured some great outdoor shots to incorporate into the whole feeling of the venue, the setting, the whole mood of the day.
