From the beginning, LeVan was very professional and pleasant to talk to. He was also very willing to work with us to find the best package and price that worked best for our wedding. He also called us a few days before the wedding to go over details and ensure that they would be able to capture everything that was important to us. I was just about to write LeVan a thank you note and realized they don't have an address. So a Yelp review will have to do :) LeVan is just the nicest most pleasant person ever! He was so easy to work with from start to finish. His team was super awesome as well. There are just not enough stars to give them. On the wedding day, they showed up on time and did their thing. They did not get in the way and at times I forgot they were even there. But the same day edit proved they were absolutely working their butts off the entire day. Most of our guests had never seen a same day edit before, so they were completely in awe with how well it was done in that short amount of time. The other great thing about them is they do not charge by the hour like some other vendors. So we didn't have to stress over our timeline, and what to do and when to make sure the videographer was there to capture it. Their pricing is also very reasonable, especially with them being with you the entire day. Communication via email was quick, and all payments were made online which was convenient. There is not enough praise that could ever be given to this talented group of people. I'd been waiting for my wedding day for 18 months (we did a save-the-date video back in January with LeVan & Brandon) and our same-day-edit played during the reception totally took everyone by surprise. If there were a way to rate with 10 stars I would. Initially we weren't going to have a video. However, after interviewing friends they shared not having a video was one of their biggest regrets. After meeting with LeVan we decided on the Same Day Edit video. We wanted to close our reception with a bang, and it did exactly that. If I have one recommendation for anyone examining their wedding budget it is (1) definitely get the video, the day passes very quickly and you miss details you'll never see if you don't get a video. LeVan and his team are incredible. They put together a short film and same-day edit for us that truly captured the moments of the day. They filmed each moment in a way where I didn't even notice that they were there! They were so under the radar that they helped me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Worked with Spinning Leaf Films for our wedding in October and they did an unbelievable job. I could write endlessly about how impressive their work is but it won't do it justice - just go look at one of their video's (website). As amazing as the videos are, the same day edit is where it gets really special. I didn't know what this was before hand, and was blown away with what I saw. Somehow they manage to get all the footage from that day edited and ready to show...before the end of your reception. Not a quick run-down of the days events, but a high-quality, synced with music film with all the polish I'd expect from a finished project. No idea how its done. LeVan was extremely easy going, professional and has just a unique talent for capturing the true essence of a couple's personality. We worked with LeVan and his team for our wedding a few weeks ago (May 8, 2015) and it was such a wonderful experience. Not only was the Same Day Edit incredible, and a super fun surprise for our guests, but having LeVan and his team around was super easy. They directed us enough to make the video look and sound perfect, but were so good about not being intrusive on this important and emotional day. Our final SDE product really is amazing and its so much fun to watch it with all your guests at the end of the night and surprise them with it. It's not your standard wedding video - it's so much more being a collection of moments from the entire day (and for us, the night before - we hired LeVan to cover our welcome dinner where had speeches and such so that footage could be included). We knew the wedding day would go by so fast and once it was over, we'd only have the memories, so we invested in the best ways to capture those memories. I'm so glad we did. Our friends and family have said the SDE basically looks like an incredible movie trailer for our wedding day - who wouldn't want that?! We can't wait to get the final longer format video - it takes up to 6 months to get the longer version, but we're happy to wait bc we know it will blow our socks off. I did a lot of research before deciding on a vendor for our wedding video. From the moment I first spoke with LeVan from Spinning Leaf, I knew I wanted him and his team to film our special day. His passion for what he does came through in every conversation I had with him...and he became more than just another "vendor". Throughout the process, LeVan was very kind, professional and listened openly to our ideas. The investment seemed like a lot at first (especially to my fiancé), but the end result was absolutely beautiful, and VERY MUCH worth it (and my fiancé is glad we did!). I've watched our film (about 10 minutes) countless times. My mother has as well...and she was actually uncertain at first about investing in a video. However, even she commented that the film did a better job at capturing our Big Day than even the photos. The biggest differentiator I can see with Spinning Leaf is the value for the QUALITY you get. I was looking for a company that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg for a full day of filming (we had a morning ceremony and evening reception). And regarding *quality*, it really is striking. Spinning Leaf has this incredible ability to capture all the emotions of the day and produce a film that represents the events perfectly, and from different perspectives. Even the transitions in the music matched impeccably with the transitions in the film's story. I tear up nearly every time I watch it. WOW WOW WOW! The fact that they can take a bunch of video during your wedding day and create a same day edit to share with your guests on the same night, is just incredible! This is probably our single most favorite thing that we had on our wedding day. The five-minute highlight video that was shown the night of our wedding to our guests was so special. To be able to watch it all back on the same day is just surreal. LeVan and his team are extremely professional, talented, and friendly. They made sure to capture every moment and incorporate it into our video somehow. The music they chose was perfect and the sections of the speeches and vows that were included were just amazing. They even have some live footage saved for each venue if the weather doesn't allow for them to put out the drone that day, they can use their other footage so that you can still have those beautiful aerial shots in your video. LeVan was wonderful to work with for our October 2013 wedding in Austin and provided not only a beautiful short film, but also a great value as we also received the full footage of our ceremony, first dance, toasts and cake cutting. Unlike the other 3 videographers we interviewed, he didn't set a time limit on how long he would be there but said he would be there as long as he needed to in order to get the amount of footage he needed for our short film. As a result, he was there longer than any of our other vendors (apart from the coordinator!). He was very easy to work with in coordinating and communicating prior to the day and totally unobtrusive on the day of, including respecting my desire not to have any footage until I had at least a minimal amount of makeup/hair done. (I think he was there 15 minutes after we were so he used the time to get great footage of the venue and setup until I was ready for him to join the bridal party!) Even though they had never worked together or met until that day, he also worked very well with our photographer. Our short film was delivered per the promised schedule and perfectly captured the feeling of our day! So far, no woman has been immune to the power of the film to induce happy tears and I suspect the guys just aren't admitting it. ;) We decided early on in our wedding planning that we wanted to have a videographer after multiple friends expressed regret at not having more or not having more professional video from their wedding days. On the day of, we were thrilled to know that it was all being captured by someone reliable and professional - especially moments that were a complete surprise to us like when the groomsman from New Zealand performed the Haka in front of the bridal table at the end of their toast. Hiring a videographer is something we would absolutely recommend if you can budget for it and we wholeheartedly recommend LeVan and Spinning Leaf Films! read more
