As of yesterday, we will not return until it is under new ownership. A couple years ago, we were there and had an issue with some dogs barking. We cleared it up with Tom and thought all is well and that we would continue going there, renting and contributing to the local economy. We made a reservation for two cabins this weekend to celebrate three important life events - my father's 80th, my sister's life changes and a family member's upcoming deployment. All 10 of us drove up from Spokane. When we arrived they came out and yelled at one of us for driving too fast. Then they yelled at us for picking an apple (not listed as not OK). Then, my sister - the one going through difficult life changes was paying our animal deposit. Brenda started in about how they almost didn't rent to us and thought about black listing us. My sister remarked on this negativity, causing Tom to say 'we don't need any of your psychobabble!' Keeping a much longer story short, we decided to pack it in and leave. We had to endure 5 hours in a hot car, the expense of travel, and the downer mood this left us all in, during what should have been a joyous weekend. I don't know whether they rented to us then decided to pull all these shenanigans once we got there, or whether it went bad spontaneously. Needless to say, we will not go back to a beloved location until these folks are gone. The place has been for sale for a long time. Perhaps the negative energy they emit drives potential buyers away. My message to you is buyer (renter) beware.

We stayed in my truck camper with the view of one of the two beautiful ponds. Full water and electricity hook-ups. Privacy and very comfortable. The horses were in their own ginormous pasture, tree lined with ample supply of fresh spring water and clean, weed-free grazing. We only supplemented their food with our own hay, since it was later in the summer and the grass was low. And the adjoining trails were challenging and fun. Water, hills, obstacles... all sorts of opportunity to enjoy! We could have just stayed in one of their 5 cabins along side another of their ponds. We were able to get a peek in a few and they were lovely. A basic log cabin, but in great shape. Our wonderfully gracious hosts, Brenda and Tom, were beyond accommodating. We are returning FOR SURE!!!

Our new go to place to get my back-up hay and now feed…read more What it has going for it: - convenient location (for me) - pricing on par with similar establishments - workers are friendly & accommodating What it has going against it: - yard where you load up your hay or feed gets muddy, nothing some gravel couldn't fix - limited hours So we use this place if we are short at the end of season. We get a 12 ton delivery every year from our normal guy. Went in here when we ran short one year. Now we come in here for there ever expanding online of livestock feed. They everything from Super layer feed to dairy goat feed to pig feed to believe screening pellets. They are a little more than say a North 40, but they are local and seam to treat their customers and employees right, so to us it is worth little extra. This summer will be inquiring about their for 12 ton delivered hay.... may have a new primary source this year. Looking to feed your livestock and live in the area... they are a great resource and don't hesitate to try them out.

I bought several tons of hog feed this last season to raise 8 full size hogs. I did notice the quality varies each trip & went down a bit starting mid summer but fermenting the feed helped a great deal. Adding some sour milk on occasion made the pigs very happy. I am happy with the end product. I also fed a bit of the fermented pig feed to the chickens, ducks & geese. It kept them out of the pigs pasture & they did enjoy it. They do have a chicken feed so I might try that soon. They also carry an alfalfa pellet. The pellets I will say are likely the best I've found anywhere. I have some very picky Nigerian Dwarves who love their pellets. I think I get 10 40lb bags for around $90. I also tried a multi bale of alfalfa a few weeks ago which they loved also. I tried a bag of the beef protein cubes. I added just a bit to the pig feed before fermenting & they did enjoy that. Pigs often get bored so adding or changing their feed just a little bit here & there kept them interested. My last visit I picked up 40 or 50 lb bags of Barley seed to make winter fodder. I am getting ready to set that up but the seeds do look good & I think it will be a great saver in feed costs over winter as the bags are under $10 each & the sprouts should end up giving me a higher protein feed with triple the size & it will be fresh greens through winter.

I just found my new, favorite place to shop in the PNW!! We moved to NE Washington six months ago…read moreand I've passed by North 40 at least a dozen times - always intending to check them out. So, while waiting for my better half and her doctor's appointment, I decided to stop in. WOW!! What a place! Back in Texas we have farm & ranch stores all over. North 40 has all that I've been missing from home and more! Clothes, tack, feed, meat processing supplies, camping supplies.... LOVE IT! I found all my sausage making supplies I use and equipment I want. The staff are friendly enough. The place is open and bright with great country music playing overhead. Prices are just a little higher than I'm used to seeing, but I guess I need to get used to that up here. Oh, I'm going to be a regular for sure.

She refuses to acknowledge or assist anyone I see her pass by- almost a year ago I had asked someone about the best type of salt block and the different properties- they said oh I don't know but *** is the best at horse info! I was super excited to speak to her but when she came over she was just plain RUDE. Looking at me like I'm an idiot exclaiming it doesn't matter- they're all the same- then proceeded to make me feel guilty to have even bothered having someone get her. Ever since then whenever I have been in that store- I see her and she will give eye contact and look away as if she wants nothing to do for an assist- walk other aisles to get around people intentionally. Why the hell do people take up jobs in a workplace where your job is literally to help, educate and inform about products and questions. North 40 I spend a lot of money- this woman likely has her paycheck paid by my purchases- she needs to be put through a social class or something because seeing her revolts me and changes my mood now- I'd rather spend my money at other branches. Seriously.
