One day after i picked it up the right rear brake locked up. I took it back and they fixed it for no charge. 1 year later the same brake went out completely. For the most part, he was a fair and honest business owner, initially. One month ago, my truck had transmission issues. 4,450 miles were put on my truck in that year and the work he did failed. The parts he put in he swore by and even gave me a 2 year warranty on the work. So, back to Phil's Transmission my truck goes. One month later, I get a phone call from Phil saying the billet low stall converter failed and he ended up having to replace it. One month to replace a torque converter. Now, the time frame initially bothering me the most (and being vocal about it to him), he finally completes his job of replacing a torque converter. And what I mean by completing, is that he just so happened to have a torque converter laying around in his shop that would fit mine. Whether this is a low stall billet converter that I paid high dollar for or not, Only the next shop will know. Today, I went to pick up my truck and found something that pissed me off beyond comprehension. Not two days before my torque converter issues I gave my truck a bath. Not that it even needed it, it was nice out and I just wanted to get it clean. When I inquired Phil about the mud all over the side of my truck his response was "My guys weren't abusing your truck, but I'll give you 10 dollars for a car wash." This prompted me to do an even further inspection of my truck and noticed even more during the month that he had it. Almost half a tank (16+/- gallons had been burnt), Over 90 miles had been put on the truck, AND the OLD transmission fluid from a year ago, was recycled and put back into the truck. Now don't get me wrong, the evidence I've gathered is Phil really doesn't do the test driving or work on the truck, it's his lackeys. And the lackeys he has working on the vehicles his customers brings him are nothing but disrespectful, ignorant fools that have no sense of professionalism for other people's property. When they see a fancy toy they will never be able to afford, they want to go out and have fun in it. However, Phil defends his "employees" and takes no responsibility for what they do and how they do it. My warning to anyone reading this. Do Not Take Your Vehicle To Phil's Transmission.

He immediately called me when they diagnosed it as not the transmission, but most likely the catalytic converter and muffler. And called BEFORE diagnosing further at $89/hr, so I could decide. When I went to pick it up he amazingly didn't charge me a dime for the diagnosing they did do. All he charged was a "friendly handshake" . A staff mechanic looked at it agreed, "Yep, the CV joint is bad." He was called into the back room, and then the owner came out and said, "Nope, your wheel bearing is bad. It'll be another $350 to replace." I took the van to Continental Transmission who then replaced the obviously bad CV joint. Once they have done a diagnostic check on your vehicle they give you the awareness of the different things that need to be serviced. No, this is not a scare tactic, because you decide to repair the items or not. They will have pictures to show you what the current condition is like my brakes, they were not making any noise, but they were at a critical state that left unrepaired and waited until it was making screeching noise I was in for more expensive repair. I like the fact they give me the option on to fix or wait until I'm ready. There approach is not a hard sell, I like Kat approach to the repairs. One one of my cars, they heard a rattling noise in the heater box area and it turned out where I was living in middle desert in so ca, I had left my car parked in the open for 5 months and a mouse / rat decided to make my heater box it's new home. I had them fix the issue and it also explained why I was having sinus issues whey driving the car for extended periods of time.
