For Father's Day, I wanted to treat my family--including my young kids--to hibachi because I knew they'd love this first-time experience. Before making reservations, I checked Shogun's website to confirm they served lunch on Sundays. The website clearly indicated they did, so I called and reserved a full hibachi table for eight people at 1:00 PM. The person who took the reservation never mentioned there would be any special holiday pricing or that lunch wouldn't be available. When we arrived, we were seated and handed dinner menus. I asked for lunch menus and was told there would be no lunch service because it was Father's Day. The problem isn't that they chose to serve only dinner. The problem is that nothing on their website mentioned this, and no one mentioned it when taking our reservation or before being seated. The website still advertised lunch pricing, and even the dinner prices listed online were significantly lower than what we were handed in the restaurant. Many of the hibachi meals were roughly three times the advertised lunch prices and noticeably higher than the posted dinner prices as well. When I asked why the website wasn't updated, I was told it was "too expensive" to update it. That answer was unbelievable. Updating a webpage costs virtually nothing compared to disappointing customers who planned their visit based on the information the restaurant itself published. Instead of informing customers ahead of time, they seemed perfectly willing to let people arrive, get seated, and only then discover the much higher prices. With a party of eight, that could have turned into a bill hundreds of dollars more than expected. We chose to leave. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. As soon as we walked in, there was an unpleasant odor throughout the restaurant. I also noticed missing ceiling tiles directly above the hibachi area where food is prepared. Most concerning, I watched the host roll a sushi order immediately after handling other tasks without washing his hands or wearing gloves. Whether that violated policy or not, it wasn't something that inspired confidence. On the drive home, I had to explain to my 11-year-old and 6-year-old why we left. It became an unexpected conversation about honesty, transparency, and why businesses should treat customers fairly. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've been coming to Shogun for nearly 30 years for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. The hibachi chefs have always been talented and entertaining, and many of them deserve recognition for the great job they do. Sadly, management has lost my trust. There are too many restaurants that communicate honestly with their customers to justify supporting one that doesn't. I won't be returning, and I'll gladly drive farther for hibachi in the future.

We went to Yummy Bowl in the strip on Hurstbourne close to Taylorsville Rd. We had a choice of a table or a booth. We choose a booth and it was roomy enough for the four of us. Our server was Peter. He brought us drinks and explained how to take a card off our table, write your name on it and check what kind of rice you want, White, Brown or Fried Rice and lay it on your tray and to go on up to the counter to pick out our food. Our friends explained how the Mongolian Grill worked. You go through the line and pick out what you want in your Yummy Bowl. There's veggies, fruits and noodles, then you choose which of the uncooked proteins that you want in your bowl. There is Lamb, Pork, Dark Meat Chicken, White Meat Chicken, Salmon, Shrimp, Clams, Crab. Then you can pick out any seasonings if you want them. Last, you pick out 2 or more sauces that you want and put them into small ramekins, set them on your tray, and they cook your food on the grill. They bring the cooked bowl to your table! The food was so fresh and cooked perfectly. Anything that you can't finish, you are allowed to take it in a takeout box. Our dinner was absolutely delicious! It was $15.99 and you could get as much food as you wanted in one trip. Our server, Peter was really a good server. He stopped by our booth at least 4-5 times. Everyone was so friendly. It was a really busy night but he took really good care of us. My husband ordered the All American Mini Burgers with Tator Tots. I ordered the Drake's Patty Melt with Drake's Fries.
