This is been a neighborhood staple for years. Delivery, at this time, can be done by them and it's currently $1.99. Ordering through them is also less expensive, especially when using their dinner combo meals. We ordered the chicken with vegetables and the sweet-and-sour chicken. It was amazingly fresh, hot and very very tasty. One of us got the fried rice and the other got the white rice. Both were tender and delicious. We decided to add a one dollar order of Yum Yum sauce which was a perfect complement to the fried rice. Felt like I was sitting in front of a hibachi grill. Two can eat for under $20, a real bargain these days. They have a small storefront, with about six tables, that you can eat in if you choose. They are now closed every Monday. We are ready to go back with another order. In fact, possibly a group order for an upcoming celebration. How easy will that be! read more

With COVID & a thunderstorm rolling through, I decided on take out from Double Dragon 9. They were quick and friendly. All of it was great. But the pot stickers ($6.25) and veggie spring rolls ($3.25) were superb. The California roll ($5.95) was a little bland but that's to be excepted with smaller ingredient sushi rolls. read more

The chinese food here is americanized so it's your typical American chinese food. Service is always fast and friendly and everything you expect from a fast food chinese place. They always get my order right. They have some things to change up the pace like honey walnut prawns. read more

This was for a food delivery to my office. I will say that I liked the crab rangoon; it was decent. However, I ordered the Dragon & Phoenix and instead of GT chicken, they gave me orange chicken. The chicken breading was dry, almost gritty, no moisture, and also needed to be tossed in a bit more glaze than with what it was cooked. It tasted old... I hate when restaurants pull this crap. So there are plenty of Double Dragon restaurants strategically stationed in and all around Louisville...but THIS one (#9 in Jtown) is by far the best. Always clean, always fantastic service (they pretty much know my family's entire order by heart) and the food is hot and FAST. Hands down the best fried potstickers in town, most likely due to the homemade dipping sauce. Their fried rice is never soggy with grease or uncooked- perfect everytime. My son opts for the S&S chicken, my daughter the chicken with broccoli (adds spicy), hubs Gen Tso's chicken (extra crispy). I love the vegetable Chow Mei Fun and have them add an egg (super thin rice noodles). Cannot miss with anything we have ever ordered here! **Pictured is their chicken with mixed veggies. I ordered Pad Thai. I did not get Pad Thai. I got some stinky orange noodles that had no peanuts, no green onions, and there wasn't even sauce on it. Pad Thai has peanuts, green onions and bean sprouts. When I called the woman on the phone laughed at me when I told her I didn't like what I was given. They had good pot stickers though. read more

I enjoy dragons and I definitely enjoy doubling my dragons. This makes me think of the Nintendo game back in the day Double Dragons. However that game was much better than this food. Now all that being said this is just like every other Chinese joint get you some General Tso's chicken with a little bit of rice and it's good to go but it is a 3 out of 5 for me because it isn't quite up to my favorite place Max Orient which is a 5 but Double Dragon Chinese food is decent. It is nothing that I would go out of my way to get but I would give it another shot if I had too. I did not like the rice that came with it. The rice had onions in it and I do not like onions. I've been ordering from here for years because they deliver & also have a small assortment of sushi however the quality of the food has went down significantly over time to the point that I will never order from them again. My last order: Hot & Sour soup tasted off, no mushrooms or tofu Sushi - did not taste fresh & was mushy Chicken & garlic sauce combo was 3/4 rice, a lot of broccoli & about four small slices of chicken. I had the pleasure of eating at this second location and I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the food was. I mean it was scrumptious!! I've eaten at the Blue Lick rd location before and compared to this one, it pales I'm sorry. I can't say enough. My hat goes off to the chef because everything we ordered was so good!! I'm going to try everything on the menu from this restaurant. You can't go wrong eating here!!! I moved here from another location and tried another similar restaurant and was disappointed, then I found an old menu and went on my google maps to see if there was a Double Dragon in my area and I was so happy to see it was even though it was too far for delivery. I stopped by and got carry out on my way home from work. Really fast was only waiting 3 min. However, the chicken was severely under cooked. I got the chicken fried rice. It looked like shrimp fried rice bc of how under cooked the chicken was. No wonder why it was done in 3 min. I also got an order of sesame chicken, that wasn't as bad. Would not recommend. Ordered a pad Thai with chicken and shrimp, very disappointed. This is definitely not a pad Thai, should have seen this coming. For one, tiny slithers of chicken with super tiny frozen shrimp. The food is full of orange dye Instead of the pad Thai sauce coloring the noodles. No peanuts or green onions. Worse, it has a horrid smell. Very unappetizing. read more

My family and I have always ordered Chinese from here for years. The delivery takes about 45 minutes and the food is always warm upon arrival and the deliverers are always friendly. I was pleasantly surprised about my experience. The menu had many options to choose from. The online delivery was easy. The delivery confirmation and time frame provided was accurate. We orderd pot stickers, boneless rib dinner with white rice and sesame chicken with fried rice. Everything had good flavor, tasted freshly made when ordered and best of all nothing was greasy!!! And everything I've had from there crab Rangoon, egg foo young, general two chicken, bourbon chicken was in one word, delicious. They have a long term customer in me. This used to be our go-to place for Chinese food, "used to be" is the key phrase of that sentence. What the hell happened? Did they change hands? The "food" we got there last time was horrible. Beef in garlic sauce was what I ordered, but that is not what they brought out. What they brought out was gristle in sauce that was brown, tasted kind of like it may have begun life as some kind of sweet-n-sour dish. It was like an experiment gone horribly, catastrophically wrong. Oh, it was nasty. It wasn't just my lunch that was awful. Mine was just the worst of the three. My husband had won ton soup that was actually pretty tasty, a sole bright spot in this dining disaster. Our experience was not helped by how hot it was in the restaurant, either. I was sweating to the point of suggesting we go out and eat in the car. So, sadly, this place has officially been removed from my food map. They used to be really good, but those days are gone. read more

The server was so kind and took time with us. The menu was phenomenal and the quality of meat and veggies was 10/10! I will absolutely be back with friends and family. It is a little loud but it is full of laughter and family chatter so the best kind of loud there can be!

I went straight for their chirashi. It is good and plenty as you can see from the photos. They do not skimp on these big fat slices of sashimi. All of their sushi entrees also come w miso soup and salad. I was so full I didn't even eat much of the sushi rice. Hubby went for the karaage, beef skewers and some fries. He loved the crispy chicken nuggets and the fries. The skewers were less successful: a bit too much of the seasoning salt. Service was friendly and very efficient. They are in the process of getting a liquor license. They also have a great lunch menu w very well priced combos on sushi rolls. We'll definitely be back for more!
