I thought the deck was causing the problem. John called back on the weekend right after I called and came over on Monday. He checked it over and showed me that our windows on the second level aren't sealed tight anymore, and rain coming at the house sideways can leak in and go to the first level of the house. The problem was the window, not the deck. But get this, he then offered to drop by later this week with some calking and calk the window at no charge. I am very impressed. In fact, it was so bad, that we needed to take the entire garage down, remove the pad and rebuild everything from scratch. Ryan took on this challenging project, coming up with novel ways to disassemble the existing structure so that it could be rebuilt after the pad was re-poured. He and his crew were efficient, timely and did an amazing job of turning a completely botched job into a winner. On the night before our inspection, Ryan remembered that he had forgotten to install one header, and came out in the driving rain at 9PM, in the dark, to install that one piece....and did it with a smile and a chuckle.
