We wanted to come to a nice fine dining establishment to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We researched for awhile. Daylene's still was being built when we were researching so we came upon this place. Reviews good, ambiance looked great so we made a reservation months in advance for 7/4/26. I had called the establishment in advance and spoke to the manager because I wanted to surprise hubby and pay for the bill. Last year, our anniversary ended on a bad note because I got sick in Miami and had to go to the hospital. We get there and are seated. It was a full house! It was loud in there and mostly everyone there was dressed casual except us. We were dressed up in a cocktail dress and suit because it was our anniversary. Lucky was our server and he was attentive and nice. We started out with drinks. I had the strawberry shortcake which I was excited about but ended up being disappointed - the majority of the drink was whipped cream. The liqueur used didn't make it seem like a fresh strawberry taste, tasted fake - for $17 it should of been better. I then ordered the clam chowder. They have two sizes $6 and $10. I was not asked which size I wanted and when they brought it out, it was this big bowl which I find out later was the $10 size (I should of been asked which size, not cool)! I had to send it back because it wasn't hot. I took most of it home, it was good especially heating it up the next day, the flavors really settled in. The food was brought out quickly - even before the clam chowder was brought back. I had the twin lobster tails (market price, $76) and hubby had the ribeye steak ($59) with the mushrooms and onions which is an $5 upcharge but that wasn't explained to him when ordering. My side was the garlic mashed potatoes and his was the creamed spinach. One of the lobster tails was too salty - they put way too much seasoning on the top of the tails. The other lobster tail was better. The potatoes were meh. I'm not really a creamed spinach fan but theirs was really good - the cream sauce was very flavorful. Hubby enjoyed his steak and had enough to take home. They brought out a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. It looked nice. We didn't enjoy the dessert but they acknowledged our anniversary so we were appreciative of that. When it was time for the bill, Lucky just laid it in my lap with no explanation. Hubby was confused. That wasn't the agreement I had with the manager. The bill was supposed to be put on the table and us being told that the bill has been taken care of. So I had to explain to hubby what was going on. A bit disappointing. Lucky told us a fireworks show was behind the restaurant so we stayed to enjoy that. I wouldn't recommend this to couples who want to get dressed up for a night out. This was my first time visiting, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful -- such a stunning space. The service was outstanding from start to finish, with super attentive and welcoming staff. The best part of the meal was the oysters -- fresh, delicious, and honestly, the standout of the night. I ordered the ribeye steak, which was good, but I've definitely had better at other steakhouses. The broccoli was pretty plain, the mashed potatoes were just okay, and the mushrooms in gravy could've been better. I'll help you out with what not to order tho, I was not a fan of the creamed corn side or the Brussels sprouts. They were bland, the corn did not taste fresh and the Brussels sprouts dry also the root beer brand they have in the bottle is not my favorite. Now, to the great stuff...I ordered the rib-eye boneless and it was absolutely amazing!!! 10/10 I had the mushroom and onions on it and it was so delicious. The bread and butter to start with was absolutely delicious. The garlic mash was delicious and the sushi I ordered was also tasty but .....order the steaks and definitely order the king crab legs they were prepared properly and the butter and fresh lemon...you can't go wrong. This steakhouse is located inside the Kalahari resort near the convention. We went in Monday with family of 7 so it wasn't busy at all. Heard some good things about the restaurant so had some expectations. Sadly it did not meet the expectation. We enjoyed the appetizers. Fried calamari and oysters Rockefeller were tasty. For the entrees, we had two orders of ribeye and two orders of miso glazed sea bass. Ribeye was little over cooked I thought. Maybe it's because the meat was a thin cut. Flavor was good though. However fish fish was a bit of disappointment. I'm very sensitive to fish. Miso glazed sea bass tasted like a frozen fish that's thawed out before it was cooked. It tasted nothing like miso glazed sea bass I had before at other restaurants. I guess different restaurants have different recipe for it but there was no glaze. I wouldn't recommend this dish. Service was just ok. There were number of staffs but at a moment when I needed them I couldn't find any on the floor. Overall I thought entrees were over-priced because food was just ok. I feel like I could've had a better steak at Ruth's Chris or something. However definitely there's a convenience of going to a steakhouse inside the resort. read more

My wife and I went to dinner here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. What a fantastic meal we had. Very charming and private dining experience. The filet mignon was as good, or better, than anywhere else I've been. Perfect texture, fantastic flavor. Prices were not out of line for a high end steak house. The garlic mashed potatoes were fantastic and the loaded baked potato my wife had was the biggest potato I've ever seen. Special shout out to our waiter, Boran. He was great. I called ahead to reserve a group for 16 a couple months before our booking. The person who took my information was polite and efficient and made sure I had a confirmation. When we arrived we found out they had set aside a beautiful private room for us. Members of our party unfortunately were not considerate and told me they weren't coming and then unexpectedly showed up, which caused a problem for our server Brock who then had a large group by himself. He was so gracious throughout the night. He never made us feel like a bother (though I knew we were due to the sudden increase in size and change of pacing to the meal). He was fantastic with our young children, so thoughtful and gave excellent service. The other staff at the restaurant were great in supporting him. All of the food was absolutely excellent. Brock was great about getting our portion of the check out quickly so that we could pay and leave to put our small children to bed while the members who arrived and ordered late continued eating. Brock and the staff supporting him made it great night out, I thanked him again before we left and he was extremely humble and kind. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area. When you first walk in the vibe is already set! You walk through a "tunnel" of wine with some really cool hanging lights. It felt new and clean-bathrooms were really nice! Then we met our server Brock. He was absolutely wonderful! We never had an empty drink and he made sure we were having a good time. Finally to the best part...the food!! It was really delicious. Everyone loved all their meals. I had pork chop and it was huge and juicy. The cream corn was a huge hit at the table. We were scraping the bowl. The hanging bacon app was unbelievable hand cut bacon in this perfect maple glaze. Like any supper club there is a nice bar area to grab a cocktail pre-dinner or just waiting for your table. When I walked in I was immediately hit with the in-house aromas of the crispy Brussels sprouts, baked bread and steaks. I honestly did not expect such a nice restaurant in a family-friendly resort area. By nice, I mean like a really classy, romantic, and trendy spot. There's a cool fire pit in the middle of the restaurant. I'm not sure if "pit" is the correct word, maybe "place". We ordered the beef short rib tacos as a starter. The taco shell was more of a crispy wonton shell, but it worked out so well with the filling. The short rib was so good and not overdone. For entree, I ordered the 6 oz filet mignon - medium-rare, of course. It was cooked medium-rare for sure! The bottom of the filet mignon was seasoned and I could taste the season come through the rest of the steak. There were tons of other steak options as well as seafood options. I would say the menu represents a traditional steakhouse. We shared the lobster mac & cheese. I never know if there should be more lobster in it, but the lobster flavor did come through the mac & cheese. I would definitely recommend it. My friend ordered the baked potato. It is GIANT. I stumbled upon Double Cut kind of by accident. And by accident I mean Door Dash messed up my order and I needed to find a dinner alternative. I was staying at the Sands Building at the Kalahari and I was actually on my way to the Wisconsin Brew Pub via Sky Bridge and I saw the menu to the Double Cut on the way to the bridge. I thought to myself that I could spend the next 20 mins walking to the Wisconsin Brew Pub to order my dinner and then wait another 20 mins for them to cook my food and then spend another 20 mins walking back to my room and then finally sit down and eat with my wife. Yeah I could save more money by going to WI Brew Pub but I'd be saving about 40 min going to Double Cut and as I previously told you Door Dash already messed up my dinner plans for the evening so it was getting late and we were hungry! I arrived at DC right before they closed the kitchen, at 9:50pm, I really hate doing this but at this point we were out of options. We went with the lobster bisque, garlic mash, brussels sprout, roasted mushrooms, and the rosemary chicken. Yeah yeah yeah, I know what you're thinking , you ordered chicken at a steak house?!?! We both were not in a steak mood, so we felt chicken was our next best option. I place the order with the bartender and she tells me that the Chicken dish takes the longest to make out of any dish on the menu, of course it does as I'm thinking to myself. She comes back and tells me that they can make it. Sweet. I order a beer and wait for my food. It took about 25 to 30 mins for them to have my order complete and then I head back to my room to chow down my dinner at 10:30 pm! Everything is packed neatly and everything is still hot. I dove right into the lobster bisque and it does not disappoint, tons of flavor, creamy, and chunks of lobster. My wife loved the brussels sprouts and mushrooms and we both truly enjoyed the garlic mashed. The main dish was next and boy was it covered in rosemary. I didn't know if I was going to like this because of how much rosemary was on the chicken, I thought it was going to be over powering and just too much. And boy was I completely wrong about this. The chicken had amazing flavor and dare I say it was legit some of the best chicken I've ever had in my life that was not fried of course. Cause nothing beats a good piece of fried chicken, right? But the chicken skin was crisply, it was season masterfully and it was juicy and tender on the inside. I was blown away by it and that's saying a lot for a piece of chicken. I'm glad I was too lazy to go to WI brew pub and I'll come back and have the chicken any time. I was so impressed by the chicken that I went back for dinner again the next day. Because DC is a steak house and I thought how could I have the chicken and not try the steak? So I ordered their ribeye cause that's the only cut I like to eat. It has the most fat and has the most flavor out of any cut. I'm big on fats on meats; Always have been since I was little kid. I get there around 5pm the next night and the bartender remembers me from the night before and asked me how the chicken was and I told her it was excellent and everyone at the bar was like what chicken did you have? I told them the rosemary and they ooh'd and ahh'd but no one ordered it so it was their loss. My steak arrives with some cheesy potatoes and I take my first bite and for a steak that costs over $60 I would have expected something a lot better. The meat itself was that of high quality but there was little to no seasoning on the steak and it had no flavor. Huge disappointment here. When I'm paying that much for a steak I'd expect everything to be on point from the quality of meat, to the way it's cooked and seared, and to how it's seasoned and presented. It failed terribly from a taste standpoint. I'm comparing this to higher end steakhouses like Gibson's and RPM Steak in Chicago. I'd like to add that a gentlemen next to me complained about his steak as well and asked the bartender why his steak tasted the way it did and it was because they used some butter that he hated the taste of. Get the chicken and skip the steak are my words and I stand by them. read more

So glad we had dinner here! After reading the previous reviews I was hesitant. We had amazing service starting with Bob the host and Eva our waitress. Good was fast and very good! We started with the hanging bacon and calamari. Our table ordered lobster bisque and bone in ribeye. Both great! Highly recommend. Good selection of drinks and wine!
