It's a dive bar in the main drag. They've clearly done some renovations to the bathrooms since many of these reviews have been written. The men's room is clean, new, and modern. The urinals are made from old beer kegs. The sink is a barrel. I took a picture. There was no one else in the restroom at the time. Four dollar pint of Edmund Fitzgerald porter. The bar just closed. The bouncer grabbed me and threw me out with has hands very aggressive and he had no reason to do that

I would absolutely not even consider going to this "bar" again. One time was enough for me. Lawsuits are waiting to happen from the second I stepped foot in there, to the second I was forcefully removed for no reason and without any type of warning or explanation. Tempted to go back with a lawyer and get the CCTV footage.....but I'm not that petty. Instead I recommend going down the street to another one of the many bars on the street. I suggest Mama's Garage, they had a very nice atmosphere,cool staff and good music. F.y.i I have never used yelp before this post. The experience that I had at this place is why I made an account. Straight up dive bar on a tourist strip. It's nice to have a place that isn't shiny and an obvious money grab. The Dells can be overwhelming with so many shops, people, noise, cars, strobing lights. Nig's offers an oasis away from that. It's still loud due to people and music, but it's cool, dark, and people generally leave you alone. The prices are cheap (especially coming from Milwaukee and for being in the Dells) and the bartenders were friendly despite being super busy. It was 4th of July weekend so even at 3 in the afternoon they were hoping. it's a big space with a bar that weaves into two spaces. The bar itself is old, dark, and wooden. Unlike a lot of bars, there's actual space between the stools so you're not sitting right on top of someone else. A pitcher of Coors Light was 8.00 and was large. They had a Long Island Iced Tea special at 3.75 And there were mystery shots for 1.00. There is a pool table near the restrooms. And the bathrooms really bring home the dive bar aspect. They're like if the bathrooms from a trailer were dropped into the bar. Clean, but clearly pas their prime. read more

Went to Nig's bar tonight and were appalled by the service. Cool bar and atmosphere. Bartender is on drugs. Six of us ordered together and he got mad at us because he struggled to add up the order. He added wrong too. No way our 6 drinks were $18. He burnt the drinks which was fine, but not a good for the business owner. We told the other bartender he was weird and would not serve us after our first round and he just said yeah I know he is terrible and has worked here for years. I mean, this bartender was obviously drunk and on some kind of drug. So we had one drink and left. We got uncomfortable to be there. It was that bad. And we were not over served. He was definitely on something. Posting this in hopes the owner sees it. You lost money as an owner because he could not add and then just stopped working. read more

Like much of Wisconsin Dells, its geared for the tourist crowd and you will see lots of suburbanites popping in, seeing that it is a dive bar, wonder what all the hype is, then walk out. We stopped in on the busy 4th of July Weekend with a family group of 12, had 1 drink and left. My sister wanted one of the many shirts (they probably make more from those than from selling alcohol), but they only and 2X and XS so she left disappointed. Not my kind of place but to each his own. If you are wanting a drink at a cheap, dirty, dive, like those you fondly recall from your youth, or just want a politically incorrect T-shirt, then this is your place. read more

Well, this place is pretty okay I guess. We stopped in to watch part of a Packer game and they had a nice homemade potluck thing going on in the corner. I can only imagine the wives and grandmothers who slaved over the spinach dip and BBQ mini hot dogs.The bartender, and obviously knowing we were not locals, graciously offered for us to enjoy any of the food. They had better taps than what some people are saying, maybe they've upgraded or it's just my taste. Prices were reasonable, we even got a couple of free beers. We hid in the corner but talked to other tourists that seems nice. Overall, this bar does what it's supposed to do, offers drinks at a reasonable price and gets you buzzed. They have enough TVs for the sports folk and plenty of space to accommodate. The women's bathroom was scary but other than that, not a bad place. I wouldn't go out of my way to hang out there but in passing it's a nice stop. read more

It's a good place for cheap drinks, that's about it. Stopped by for a couple drinks on a Thursday afternoon. Service was great the first time. Came back about a hour later to grab a drink before going home, had a different bartender (a guy I noticed drinking heavily before his shift / bald head, heavy set with glasses (the first time). I ordered a old fashioned and he begins to pick apart what old fashioned I wanted and what alcohol. I told him whatever was good, he told me he could serve me top shelf and I needed to decide. Told him Buffalo Trace, and he replies with well how about a "Wisconsin" old fashioned with brandy? I said sure, the drink was delicious. However this guy didn't need to be a fat c*nt about it. Been to plenty of biker/dive bars, that's my thing. This place needs to get rid of him, especially a place on the main strip of the Dells with the traffic it gets. read more

Nigs is the iconic bar that never changes, smells like piss and puke most of the time but you can't help yourself from going in! The bartenders will wet your whistle with a variety of beers and the basics of drinks. Don't ask for anything fancy that would be like going to Taco Bell and asking for a skirt steak. Nigs is part of the community as well as part of the tourist stop, semi sort of biker bar/discotheque on the weekends with a DJ and lights. It's charm is ingrained in the worn out floors and bar with the smiles on the bartenders face. There is the occasional fight and the over served drunks acting the fool but isn't that part of the charm? Go for the experience and give it a shot! read more

Nig's bar has been a staple at the Wisconsin Dells as long as I can remember, and it's always been a place to get your party on, and listen to some music. It's a really great time! They are dog friendly, and accommodate most dogs (as long as they are on a leash). There are many drink specials, Karaoke on Friday and Saturday evenings even in the winter months. They are also a "go to" place for all Packers and Brewer games! read more

We rolled into this establishment with a 9-set bachelor party on a Saturday night. After having a couple of drinks I notice that country music is punishing my ears. When I scanned the tavern for the jukebox I noticed that the interior setup was a steaming mess. There were 5 of those gambling machines that don't pay out any money, next to an ATM that charges $2.50 per withdrawal. On a different wall there was like 3 dartboards, some other nonsense, and the jukebox! On the way to the men's bathroom is a pool table where two tea-totaling pool sharks inevitably use the area of 2 pool tables for their game, it's difficult to successfully navigate. And the decor was tired, lame, and dusty. The country music pounding through this dive bar was more than I could take so I spent $20 on the jukebox. I put on a GLAM METAL CLINIC and thus destroyed the pleasant townie atmosphere the WiDells locals created for themselves. As soon as glam metal giant Cinderella came in over the tavern speakers a third of the patrons evacuated the premises. Two of my buds told me that I changed the vibe of the whole tavern. It also cleared space on the floor for more exuberant dancing. Here's the trick to the jukebox: $0.50-$1 a song- pay extra to skip all the rest of the music and also pay extra to play the music video version so locals get educated on how androgynously sexy MTV looked 25 years ago. The jukebox is one in which you can play just about any song through the search function. During our Glam Metal singing and dancing fun we shattered a pint glass on the floor. None of the staff cared- I've been 86'd from other establishments for far less. The men's bathroom is awesome for exhibitionalist males! You can surprise other dudes with your junk during the evacuation process as there is nothing to prevent wandering eyes after opening up the bathroom door. Do a back lean for extra affect. To close out our time at Nig's I gifted the townies thrash metal through a set of Pantera and Anthrax music videos. On the upside, buying 9 drinks at a time costs $36 and they serve them quickly. Tip: don't buy a 'had a swig at Nig's' shirt at the tavern, just go to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army and get a used one for $2. read more

Been going to Nigs off and on for many, many years. Maybe 30. Was there last weekend and Jimmy has to go. Drunk off his behind, snotty and more unpleasant than normal. He fell down behind the bar and couldn't get up. A couple locals helped him up and he had snot running out of his nose. He wiped it with his hand and went to make more drinks. Nig's is not for the average city slicker looking for a fancy cocktail and a pristine night out. It's amazing and wonderful in the most divey way. From the rowdy clientele to the bartenders doing shots and drinking along with the patrons. I saw boobs, a great basketball game, and a girl on the bar all before 10 p.m. There was also a DJ who started playing Top 40 and requests. Now you know the atmosphere, so I'll talk product. I didn't drink out of the tap, which didn't seem too extensive. However, they've got a bottle fridge with just about anything you could want (3 kinds of ciders, Mike's/wine coolers, and even the typical beers). The frozen margarita's were on point and we even got to keep the glass (for only $6 to boot). Also, I had the best (and cheapest) Long Island I've ever tasted. Both bartenders were super friendly and made great drinks. All-in-all, I would say Nig's is a definite visit if you like cheap drinks and a divey atmosphere. My fiancé and I only spent 30 bucks and probably had 9-10 drinks total.. plenty to get a buzz going! read more
