It was a cool little layout at 6,200 yards and you can tell that additional holes were done after the originals. Lots of animal and goose droppings covered the fairways but thankfully not the greens. The greens were spongy and slow so it took a lot to get used to when I'm accustomed to harder and faster greens. If I lived in the area I could see playing here regularly because as a single I was able to get around in 2 hours and 15 minutes even though I'm not a fan of finishing with a par 3. The really nice folks working on the inside make you feel right at home.

At a professional golf club someone would have checked on them and asked them to move quicker. Not here! I eventually had to skip 2 holes just to pass them. I don't know why all the high reviews honestly. I think for what it is a $10 9 hole round is a fair price, $15-20 with a cart. Price was $32 for 9 holes. Canyon River is like $38 for 9 holes. If you're an experienced golfer trust me just go spend the extra $6. Now, if you want to just practice or bring your family to golf this is a great place! Summary- the guy who worked there said that they have better greens than Canyon Grove. That is true... but unfortunately that is the only thing that is better about Highlands.

We are members at our country club at home and feel like this course had so many beautiful views. We rented clubs during this trip however we plan on bringing our own clubs next time we come or have the the opportunity to golf this course again. It's totally worth bringing your own clubs. We also had dinner at their restaurant and the food was delicious you definitely want to plan to eat at their restaurant after golf you won't be disappointed. What a shame that those in charge of this course have decided to make it a completely exclusionary club...for members only...where the buy in is only $18,000.00 up front membership fees (if you pass the vetting process of "you can be one of us" screenings) oh yes and the $375.00/month X12 ($4,500/yr) Local businesses...once they get word of this...and most have not currently...will lose out over time...as this course has drawn golfers here...for their short stay with family and friends is no more. One can only imagine how many tourists will NOT want to come here any longer...as this premier golf course is NO LONGER available to the public. I've been coming to Bigfork for over thirty years...and my most favorite and cherished piece to my visits has always been...making a tee-time at this gem of a course. Not any more however...thanks to the POWERS THAT BE...we less-thans can only view it from afar. I'm curious...are all the members...which meet the screening criteria...old rich ***** guys?
