Café con Leche. Was made really good.

This is a very cute little coffee shop smack in the art district. My breakfast was made to perfection. I had French toast with over easy eggs, side of fresh fruits. Very nice atmosphere with very friendly workers.

Nice place but bad service. The employees only talk and make jokes among themselves and do not pay attention to the service.

Café Cuatro Sombras - My Favorite Coffee Spot in Old San Juan…read moreCafé Cuatro Sombras was one of the stops on our walking food tour, and this place surprised me in so many ways! It quickly became my favorite coffeehouse in Old San Juan. This place serves some of the best coffee I've ever tasted, ranking right up there with the amazing coffee I've had in Rome and Athens. The flavor was incredibly smooth, with no overpowering acidity or bitterness. It was simply the perfect cup of coffee! But the real surprise was the ham and cheese croissant. The saltiness of the ham and cheese paired beautifully with a mysterious sweet jam. I would never have guessed it was guava, especially since I'm not usually a fan of this fruit. Yet, somehow, this guava jam completely won me over! Now, I'm on a mission to find a similar guava jam here in Raleigh. Café Cuatro Sombras turned out to be so much more than just another stop on our food tour. Between the exceptional coffee and that unforgettable ham and cheese croissant with guava jam, it was a standout experience. I highly recommend Café Cuatro Sombras if you're visiting Old San Juan!

Stopped by this cafe after reading it was a stop on a local food tour. Per the food tour reviews,…read morewe had to try the croissant with ham and cheese and guava butter which did not disappoint! The cafe itself is small but we were able to find seating anyways. Service was somewhat confusing... you have to order at the counter and then wait for them to call your name. They called our names a couple times but were not ready each time leading to our confusion. We ordered a latte and the croissant and both were delicious! Would definitely come back for this croissant!

Oh boy... this was a 10/10!…read more After spending a long, hot day exploring Old San Juan with the kids, we stopped by Cortés ChocoBar in Condado for something cold, and it was exactly what we needed. We ordered three of their frozen chocolate drinks, and every single one was absolutely delicious. Thankfully, it wasn't busy when we stopped by, so it was the perfect place to cool off and take a break from the heat. The café had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I asked if one of the frozen drinks could be split for the kids, and although they didn't split it for us, they happily gave us two extra cups so we could divide it ourselves. It was a simple gesture that we really appreciated. The frozen chocolate drink was rich, creamy, refreshing, and perfectly chocolatey without being overly sweet. Even the whipped cream was delicious, especially with the chocolate pieces on top. Everyone in our group loved it, and it quickly became our favorite sweet treat of the trip. Whenever we're craving something cold and chocolatey during our stay in Puerto Rico, this will definitely be our go-to spot. We can't wait to come back and try their bonbons before we head home!

I've bought them at the grocery store for my mother over the years when I couldn't find Menier. I was hoping to see some unique desserts at Chocobar Cortés. Let's just say that the chocobar at this location was not what I was expecting. It's like an express version of their original one in Old San Juan. This is located in the lobby of the Condado Palm Hotel. There are 2 entrances. Don't make the same mistake we did by trying to access at street level. That door is locked. You'll need to enter through the hotel lobby. The service is very slow here. There was only one other person there. We ordered a box of 6 chocolates and payed for it. I'm guessing he was making a drink for the other guest because he asked us to wait a few minutes. It ended up being longer so he told his colleague (who just came back from a break) to make up the chocolate box for us. Unfortunately, it took even longer as this other guy was more interested in the 2 young girls who just walked in. The chocolate bonbons were good, but nothing unique. It's the same artisan chocolates that you see everywhere for the same high price. Perhaps this location is better for their specialty cocktails in the evening time. I was looking forward to trying the choco-latte at some point. I doubt there will be a next time.
