Empty parking lot. Drive by the place yourself - also an empty parking lot during open hours. We ordered over $80 worth of food, and when the 2 bags came, they were quite light. They have a special on the Door Dash menu called Chicken 65. Excited to try it, and we also ordered Chicken Pakora, they were almost the same. For the 10 pieces in each, it was near $14 per portion. To be fair, this was the best part of the meal - but the value of $1.40/piece of boneless chicken wasn't a value. We understand that during the pandemic the portions are going to be smaller, but that's why we ordered $80 worth for just 2 people. I see google reviews of the owner figuring out what the complaintant order was on his recent phone history, and calling them back to negotiate. It's been 2 months since our last order, so I doubt we have to worry about the harassment of the owner now (luckily). I'm happy to give my honest review. I'm out $80, but if I can save someone else the hassle, it's well worth it. They have LOTS of 5 star reviews on Google - but if you look at the people reviewing it, they have 1 single review of that business and no more. Perhaps they are family members, or he bought those reviews. This is why I believe Yelp.ca is a better review system. Shame on the owner for giving $40 worth of food for $80 and all the false reviews on Google. Please note, I can't prove this - but go ahead, order $80 worth of various items and see if you are satisfied -- you'll share the same experience we had. BTW. The flavors weren't right. Even the butter chicken had something "extra" in it, that we never tasted before. We couldn't place our finger on it.. but this food ended up in the garbage, and if you read my other reviews, I never am so critical - just this place was just dead wrong on what they served us. Writing this reminds me -- the mint chutney, was completely watery too. With some extra spice to it. I've been enjoying Indian Cuisine for the last 25 years -- this was just strange, bizarre, and didn't make sense. If I had to guess, he laid off the Chef and tried to make it himself.

A venue chosen for dinner during our 3-day stay in Harrison Hot Springs last week. A first-time…read moredining experience there for us. While in Hope, we had decided that we were going to try this restaurant during our Harrison stay. Daughter and I found the restaurant had moved to a new location since our last trip, and into a building that we were familiar with, and much larger than the former one they occupied previously. With the signage and all, it looked good to us. We called one afternoon to ensure they would be open at the time we wished to dine, and in a couple of hours were there and settled in for what we hoped would be an exciting new dining experience. We were not disappointed. Our host/server was very friendly, cordial, and sure helpful. We went in knowing quite little about Indian food, but had studied their menu beforehand back at the hotel, and took it with us to the restaurant. We showed her the dishes we had checked off as 'possibles' and sought her suggestions. This worked out perfectly -- we discussed all dishes, narrowed them down to a nice variety, and ordered. For a first time experience, I believe we did very well. We ended up with a rather nice selection of dishes - from appetizers to main dishes - a good variety of introductory tastes, and wonderful flavours. We had ordered 'mild' - the foods were definitely spicy, but about perfect for the three of us. We hope to have the opportunity to dine there again, and now have a good idea on how and what to order, and are looking forward to it. I know one thing for sure, we will each have a samosa - the samosa we shared this time was so good!! Thanks to our host, her good service, and the exciting food we tried, we much-enjoyed our dining experience at the Royal King Indian Restaurant.

Enjoyed the tasty butter chicken and garlic naan. Service was very good too. Would recommend and I…read morewould repeat.

But I searched around and couldn't find any mention of it on the internet. When I did a boarder search, I saw the truck at the Calgary Stampede in 2011, but after that it disappeared again. Unfortunately, it was crazy crowded and loud at the Jazz Festival that I couldn't really stop and ask about the business much. While $10 is a slightly steep price to pay for a poutine in a city blessed with La Belle Patate, I thought for what it was (a food truck, catering to a big crowd of festival go-ers at just the right place and time), it certainly hit the spot. The portions were good, the gravy was delicious, and the cheese curds nice and squeeky. I ordered the Quebecor, which comes with maple syrup and thought it was a good taste, but certainly not for those looking for savoury. Apparently all the savoury options that looked appetizing were already swept up by the earlier crowds. The truck is large and well decorated, I love the look it has! The only odd thing about the place is the way the ordering system works. I put in an order at one end of the truck, and get a receipt. But I take this receipt and literally walk two steps to around a corner and hand it to someone at a second window on the side. Mind you, they're all in the same truck, so they're probably right beside each other. This person takes the ticket and makes my order. If the lady at the register didn't turn around and call me to out the food station window to hand over my ticket, I'd probably be standing there a long time... I took half-decent photos on my phone, but there seems to be some better photos of the truck on the yycbesteats website: http://www.yycsbesteats.com/day-5-calgary-stampede-food-review-la-poutinerie/
