But, the end of the slide is quite a way off the ground so it was a little difficult for the 3.5 yr old to hop off of. We had to carry the 2 yr old off. There are prickly weeds that grow around the back and sides. Since it's a sand playground, you can't see the loose prickly pieces and both my daughter and I got poked. It did look like a lot of fun for the other older kids and we'll probably try when my kids are a bit older so hopefully they'll do some landscaping on the weeds by then. We also saw a few kids spitting water in the sand and making spit-water sand balls. Gross.

It's pretty much your typical base recreation center. Sometimes they have events like Trunk or Treat etc. Staff are nice, place does look a bit worn on the inside and could use a little updating/upgrading. They do have an indoor stage for performances and events, vending machines inside, couch for parents waiting for the children to get done with lessons, a tv for entertainment and a little play area in a corner.

The facility itself is old, rundown, and a little dirty. However, it does have refrigerators, picnic tables, and even a small stage. The ball field has new sod and is maintained regularly, as is the picnic area. The ball field needs grooming for baseball/softball but the newly sodded field would work great for volleyball or games or even a bouncy house. There's plenty of free parking and the area is private and secure. And the rental fee is fairly inexpensive ($50-100) but does require a CAC cardholder. For the value, this place is great for a small private party.

I believe that it is currently used as a Boy Scout / Girl Scout camp. At one time they were great views of central Oahu towards Diamond Head from this ridge, but the trees have grown and it is not as spectacular as before. There are picnic tables around the area that would make a great place to come and enjoy a secluded lunch, if you are working on Camp Smith.

It has BBQs as well. The rec center is one of the best I've seen by homeowner's standards. Roomy, clean, indoors, restrooms, fridge, sink, stove tables, chairs and a long counter to set up food on. It's a great venue to rent out for an event. The one drawback is you have to live there, or know someone that does I wanna say it's around $100- $150 to rent. Located in the Temple Valley area, across from Koolau Center where Times Market and McDonald's is. Plenty of parking on the street. I would befriend a homeowner or move in to take advantage !@ LOL

The park is within walking distance to Pearl City Shopping Center as well as residential homes. The only times I have ever step foot onto the park grounds is to watch the teenagers play basketball or to watch the young keikis practice football. It also helps that there is a short stairway access from the parking lot of Hele gas station. I also noticed that the park has a few bleachers for families to sit on while watching a softball or baseball game. I know there is a restroom facility on the premises near the driveway entrance of Pearl City Elementary School. I just have not checked it out. I did take notice that there is one homeless individual that occupies one side of the restroom building. That person minds his own business. 122/200

Gentry Community Park sits a lone structure that houses an outdoor lap pool and party pavillions. Having a community center like this is a huge plus because here in Hawaii there is no such thing as a "small party." There are two pavilions available for rental: LARGE PAVILION: - maximum capacity is 88 people - that provides 16 tables and seating for 88 people - damage deposit check of $275.000 - rental fee with pool access for $375.00 - rental fee without pool access $275.00 - minimum time to rent pavilion is 5 hours - additional hourly rate if your event surpasses 5 hours is $55.00/hr - additional hourly rate for pool time if your event surpasses 5 hours is $25.00/hr - FULL KITCHEN AVAILABLE ON PREMISE SMALL PAVILION: - maximum capacity is 39 people - that provides 8 tables and 39 chairs - damage deposit check of $175.00 - rental fee with pool access for $275.00 - rental fee without pool access is $175.00 - minimum time to rent pavilion is 5 hours - additional hourly rate if your event surpasses 5 hours is $35.00/hr - additional hourly rate for pool time if your event surpasses 5 hours is $25.00 - NO KITCHEN AVAILABLE FOR SMALL PAVILION Also note there there NO LIFEGUARDS OR ATTENDANTS ON DUTY TO PROVIDE SUPERVISION. What I love about this place is that your guests can get as loud as they want because there is no immediate housing nearby that would complain of noise pollution. It's a great venue for parties that require more space than your home or perhaps something not the size of a banquet room at a hotel or country club. Perfect for the "small" local parties. There is tons of parking specific to this community center but also tons of available non-metered street parking. There is also a resident pool membership if your specific housing does not have a pool. The fee is an annual rate of $50.00 for head of household and $15.00 for each additional household member who is 7 years and older. There's a pool schedule that allots for open swims, swim clubs and lessons as well as overnight lap swims (it's an additional fee to have access to night swims). In my opinion, this is such a great asset to the growing Ewa plain community. The only downside is that this community center is that it's for all Ewa by Gentry (can't have just one if you're gonna build up the entire west side of Oahu). This is strictly a community center with no recreational equipment (like a gym or workout equipment).

Her body language, tone and attitude said everything we needed to know about her ... Giving insecure in my opinion! We all work customer service and we get having bad days but she is downright unprofessional and disrespectful.
