I contacted this business after the first business failed to respond to my phone calls or show up on time as told. I called his business at 4 PM at first I only got to submit a request and I left a message on their phone. I called back five minutes later and got a real person. I explain my situation with my garage door. The receptionist told me that within one hour A technician would be sent to my location. It was raining lightning and thunder going on. Within 20 minutes a technician I believe his name was Mike was knocking on my door. Mike told me that he could not work in the rain at the moment but that he standby if it would calm down. II explain to him I would leave it up to him if he wanted to standby or they could come back tomorrow. The rain finally calmed down and Mike knocked on my door and told me he would get started. Two hours later Mike was knocking back on my door explaining he had accomplished his work. I thought I had only a broken a bolt but come to find out that a spring Ihad actually been broken and had to be replaced. Mike replace the spring and turn up the entire garage door fixture. He remove the broken parts and cleaned up the work area. Mike was very professional nice and accommodating I thought the service was outstanding considering the weather consideration and the speed that they had accommodated me. Rip off alert! I needed help with a stuck garage door. They had previously installed my system and did a great job. This time the tech re-attached a broken cable but charged me for all new springs and cables even though I watched him the entire time. There we're stickers on the inside of the door with DooR Doctors phone and website, I called two other garage door companies one did not return my call the other wanted $135. 00 to troubleshoot the repair after I described the damage. DOOR DOCTOR IS GREAT! Our garage door stopped working. We called the company whose sticker was on the LiftMaster opener. Their technician came to our house and gave us a quote of $3100 to replace the opener, springs, door seal, and chain system. Obviously this seemed quite high. We asked for a personal recommendation from our Homewatch person. He suggested Door Doctor. Their technician came within an hour (Ft. Myers,) quoted us $429 for the exact same work and service, installed it within one hour, and was on his way. He was very personable and extremely competent. (His name was Mike by the way.) When I called to schedule replace of a broken torsion spring I could have had service the same day but I had to delay a day because of other commitments. On the following day Ben was able to replace the broken spring easily. A technician came to my home and looked over my garage door with my chief complaint being it is noisy. Immediately lubricated my garage door opener and the noise immediately went away. I was very happy, then he said I need new rollers and my cable is frayed. So I told him to go ahead and replace it what she did. He charged me $117 for 10 rollers and for 27 foot lengths of cable he charged me $110. I was OK paying this as he did an excellent job, however when I looked at my bill I saw $128 service charge that was added without my knowledge. I asked him what that service charge was for and he told me that was for labor and I explained that the money he was charging for the rollers and the cable included parts and labor and he says well this is what we always charge and I was annoyed as this was never explained to me until I got the final bill. I called the office to complain and was told that that $128 was for labor when in fact labor was already included in the cost of the rollers and cable. I think this is a deceptive practice... My suggestion to anybody that uses this company would be to ask the cost of everything prior to having them do any work. I guess I learned my lesson... read more

I heard the ad on the radio for Mo Better Garage Door repair. I called them because the service call was $59.00. Well, don't let that fool you. I needed a hinge replacement to repair the garage door. When he presented the bill (receipt was from Door Doctor) it was $183.39. The hinge cost $124.39!!! I called another garage door company and asked how much a hinge cost to repair my door; they said depending on the type of hinge the cost would be between $7 and $12.00. I'd like to know what made Mo Better/Door Doctor's hinge so special? I called Mo Better to speak to the Service Manager and he never called me back. I called again and the receptionist said that he would call between 24 and 36 hours. That is another reason NOT to call this company. They came out to fix my garage door on Thursday and I have yet to hear from the Service Manager. Save yourself time and money and don't call Mo Better/Door Doctor for any repairs. read more

What a great company. So I woke up to a garage door that decided not to open. After messing with it, I realized it was time to call the Doctor and that is exactly what I did. I called up and asked if they could give me an estimate, the young lady quoted me a price and said that someone would be with me within an hour, and then Ken pulled up. Let me tell you, this young man came in and got straight to work. Our garage door is as good as new!
