Action Automatic Doors came to our house today to do maintenance and repair work on our garage doors. It turned out that we needed a new motor on one door. Miguel and Yan, were very knowledgeable and efficient and did an excellent job replacing the motor and adjusting and lubricating both doors. I highly recommend AAD for installation, maintenance, and repair of your garage doors. read more

They installed our garage door originally. Several years later had a spring break. Not a DIY job at all. Had them come out and replace the spring and paid a few hundred for the service - expected, not a simple job. Door began making an odd clicking and clunking noise a week after. Then would not work at all. Technician came out. Said belt had broken and replaced it. Told us it was under warranty. Then received bill for $190.00 for labor on the part under warranty being replaced. $135.00 for the trip charge and $55.00 for 30 minutes of labor. Ridiculous charge for a part under warranty that broke just after you replaced the spring. read more

I needed a new garage door quickly because of painters coming to paint our condo. The service department reviewed their process and within 2 days Ericxeal and Van Carlos came and took measurements followed by Christian and Armando coming to install the new door. They all were on time, friendly, excellent in their expertise, and went the "extra mile" in showing how to properly maintain the door. I also appreciated talking with Liz and Marya in the office regarding the easy payment process. We have had Action Automatic Door as our company for 23 years and always had excellent service! Ron Ft. Had a spring break on a large, heavy 10ft garage door and needed to get it replaced. Planned on purchasing the springs and doing it ourselves, but it was going to take us a week to get the parts, so reached out to Action Automatic at the recommendation of a neighbor to check their pricing. They had product in stock and could handle it next day. It was more expensive than doing it ourselves, but not significantly and it would have taken us a good chunk of the day to get it handled so we had them come out. Elliott and Michael came today and were amazing! They were friendly, hard working, knowledgeable, on time, didn't try to up-sell us and charged us exactly what was quoted. Being handy people, we often witness shortcuts or questionable skills in repair people (which is why we do it ourselves), but no issues at all with Elliott and Michael. They were fantastic! Would definitely use them again and recommend to others. Will also be thanking r neighbor for the referral. read more

Fast professional service. Able to have someone come out with appointment a few days later which is fine. A little higher than other quotes for the repair but reliable and good work. Thank you read more

These guys are all about selling you new equipment and not about fixing what you already have. I have an X9 Viking access system for our front gate. Double doors, inward swinging. Slave side was acting up. It was Stopping midway, Not opening and Opening slowly. Action Automatic sends out their techs. Two young guys in their EARLY 20's. I definitely didn't get the seasoned 40 year old tech with 20 years under his belt. So one of the young guys tells me my system is a "mess". I asked for clarification and he tells me it's old and the problem could be "anywhere". So I awaited the completion of what they considered to be a diagnostic and they said the problem was a bad motor on the slave side. They told me their office would price me out a new motor if that's what I wanted. What I got was a quote for a whole new $6000 system. I didn't want a new system. I just wanted the part that was broken to be fixed. So instead I decide to go online and find the motor I need for $1200, buy it and install it myself. This did not solve the problem. Exact same issues. Frustrated that Action Automatic Door was incorrect in their diagnosis and that I spent over $1000 I likely didn't need to, I dig further and discover that the limit switches are badly corroded. I order a set, (sold in a pair) and install them myself. $40 dollars. Problem solved. Gate works beautifully. But because of their poor advice I replaced a motor that wasn't bad. So, $1200 wasted. This company didn't take the time to see if it could have been the limit switches, which are easily accessible to anyone doing a diagnostics check of all connection points. So instead of checking the proper functionality of these components they tell me my system is an old and beyond its usable/serviceable life and it wouldn't be worth spending money on it. They advised I should strongly consider buying a new system for $6000 so I could get all the "warranty coverages that go with it." It just didn't seem right that they couldn't find the problem. So I dug deeper and discovered the corroded limit switches. I then replaced them, fixing the gate/access system myself. My system does have a few years on it, but aside from the outer covers having weathered from the sun, the control board is pristine. The motors ran strong. They tried to convince me I needed new equipment. I didn't. What I needed was a quality service company, willing and able to fix issues, even if small. The problem with so many service companies in Naples like this one is that when you call them, you don't actually get service. You get a salesperson disguised as a service tech. The problem with my system wasn't overly complex, AT ALL. An honest tech with knowledge on gates and access systems would have found the problem within the first 15 minutes. Bottom line. Don't expect them to fix your gate problem if they think they can sell new equipment instead. read more

I requested a service call for my electric gate opener. I was told it would $200 service charge and if the work was done then it would round into the cost of the job. The repairman stated I needed a new 24 volt ARM for the gate. My current one was only 12 volt. When i got the quote for the repairs it was $3600. A new 24 volt completed system is $2300 and the ARM only is $500 to $700. I would not recommend this company. read more

We recently had our garage door repaired by your company, and we must say, the experience was outstanding. From the moment Carlos and Adner came for our repair service call, it was apparent that they were knowledgeable and friendly. They took the time to listen to our concerns and provided expert advice on the necessary repairs. What impressed us the most was the transparency and honesty exhibited throughout the process. They kept us informed every step of the way, explaining the repair in detail and providing fair pricing options. Not only did they complete the repairs promptly, but they also went above and beyond by performing a thorough inspection and offering preventive maintenance recommendations to ensure the longevity and safe use of our garage door. Prior to your service we made the unwise decision of hiring another garage repair company that we got from a Google search. What appeared to be a great company on their website turned out to be an unlicensed, deceitful and unskilled garage repair company. We did not trust their technicians or the safety of their work, so we called a friend for a recommendation. She spoke very highly of your company and her experience with your technicians. Carlos and Adner showed us the deficiencies of the previous company's workmanship and the potential safety hazard that remained due to their inexperience and lack of concern. Soon after Carlos and Adner repaired our garage door perfectly, we had the pleasure of communicating with your Service Coordinator. Liz was incredibly helpful and assisted us by documenting the problems found by Carlos and Adner regarding our initial service repair. Her assistance and documentation led to a successful result in our dispute with the first garage door repair company. Our experience has demonstrated to us the critical difference between service companies, and it is now obvious how fortunate you are when you find a highly skilled and honest company such as Action Automatic Door and Gates. I highly recommend Action Automatic Door and Gate for anyone in need of a reliable and trustworthy garage door service. Their exceptional service, expertise, and dedication to customer satisfaction have earned my trust and loyalty. read more

I have used Action for years and they always do a great job. Most recently, our garage door hit a huge, heavy object and was knocked off the tracks and the tracks were bent. I thought we'd have to replace the entire door. Moises came out and fixed it very quickly for only a service charge! I was thrilled! read more

Terrible company. They have been out numerous times to fix our garage doors and they still do not work properly. I requested the manager to be involved because no one seems to be able to fix the issue. Our doors open and close on their own and we have several error messages on the system. Such as motor errors and excessive opening and closing errors that show up on the system causing the doors to go up and down non stop. The only way to stop them from opening and closing is to manually lock them from working. Otherwise they will go up and down on their own for hours. Our doors are brand new, on a new build home we purchased, which now is currently two years old, Action installed the the doors, and they are still under warranty, and this company has been out numerous times for the same problem with no avail. This is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. They simply don't know what they are doing and don't care about the customer. read more

What a terrible company! I bought a new garage door and opener from them soon after Ian. (not sure why) Their price wad $5500... an insulated flush door... no windows, no decorative stamping and an electric opener. The gal that I was caused to interact with was an incredibly miserable person... Annette. I placed my order in November of 2022 and was given an install date of May 2023... about 6 months. Of course, they required that "SW Florida" usual 50% deposit. (I guess if they go bust it's too bad for us) Installation day came. Of course, the installers were typical SW Florida non-American "laborers". They were not craftsmen. They were nice enough guys but they possessed a minimum command of the english language. I am sorry to say but, by and large, I find that Central and South American migrants simply come from an entirely different culture than that which we live to in the United States. Accordingly, their attention to detail is quite unlike our own. It's the little things like placing ceiling bracketing square to the space and employing a level to mount controls and head wall bracketing. And let's not forget about thoroughly removing "door-edge" labels and protective plastic wrapping. DID YOU EVER TRY DOING THAT AFTER THE DOOR IS INSTALLED WITH TRACKS AND RAILS IN YOUR WAY??? Frankly, I just performed that task which is what caused me to write this review! For $5500, it pissed me off! Bottom line is that I would not recommend this company. It is clear that owners/management do not have an appropriate training program in place for neither their sales people or their operations people. They get One Star because I cannot give them fewer. read more

This company is a scam! Had them replace a spring last year, right hand side. Looking at receipt shows r hand. Broke again this year same spring, called them. They send same technicians "Azael G" says he will replace the right spring again but this time with bigger spring. He finishes and asks for payment I said it should be under warranty he gets aggressive in my garage so I figure pay him. Get rid of him and call company and explain it's the same spring. The said it was the other side and if I didn't agree I should not have paid them. They told me I was confused as to which spring was broken. They lie and will cheat you--- go to a different company! read more

A local fire department needed commercial bay door service after hours. The charge is $900 to show up, per call taker, and $180 each 30 minutes thereafter. I believe in paying and supporting local business top dollar for stellar service, however, I would like to know how a $900 service call, just to arrive on site, is palatable, to anyone? Definitely open to any thoughts or suggestions. The 5-star review is pointed to the call taker, can't say they were not up front. read more

SCAM Alert Do not use Action for your SWF garage door service. I requested a quote for a Wayne Dalton torque master replacement . I was told $299. Now, the parts cost is only about $100 and labor time is under an hour. Upon arrival, the technician didn't bring the correct part and wanted to convert me to a regular torsion spring but the price went up to $499. Again, $100 in parts and less than an hour labor time. So Action is charging me $400/hour labor. No thanks. I called back to the office and they were unwilling to work with me. What a shame and a sham. Follow up. Next company I called was D&D. They completed the job for $275. Go figure read more

I called Action Automatic Door yesterday after experiencing malfunctions with our doors here in Naples. I didn't know who to call as the doors were installed long before we bought the house. A friend recomended Action Automatic Door. Liz made me feel welcome, was excellent and scheduled service for me today. Carlos the service tech was here right on time. He was fast, extremely competent and efficient. In about an hour he serviced all three of our doors, fixed an eye problem with one and programmed a difficult opener for me. The bill was easy to pay via IPAD credit swipe and very reasonable. I could not be happier. This company is great ! Thank you Liz. Thank you Carlos ! read more

The technicians are awesome. The issue I have is their scheduling. I have gates to enter my property. There have been 2 occasions when manual system did not work after auto openers did not work either. The customer service person gave me an an appointment 2 days later. I said I can't get out of my property. She said " I am sorry, no one available. I had to throw a fit to get someone out here. They then installed new openers which are very expensive and guess what? Now they don't shut. I called again today. She said openings 2 days later. They do not offer prompt service. If you are locked in your property and gates don't work they don't care. If new openers don't work and you can't shut your gates for security they give you appointments 2 days later. If it was not under warranty I would hope to another company. read more

Had someone out to measure and give me a quote and they never got back to me. I even tried following up twice! Ridiculous.

Very pleased. I called them this morning and they arrived around noon. Even sooner than they were supposed to. My garage door had dropped while opening last night. A potentially very dangerous situation. I thought the spring had broken. Turns out that my cars luggage rack on top must have hooked the release rope a little and the next time I opened it it completely released. Because it (probably) hadn't been serviced in years the tension was so loose that it just fell. I was taking my dog for a walk and thankfully she wasn't under the door. The technician fixed it by tightening it up and shortening the release rope. He also lubricated it and I had him change the little wheels as they were getting bad, at his suggestion. While they were here I asked him to change the bottom strip which definitely needed it. No more little frogs. He showed me how, now that it was tightened up, if it ever accidentally gets pulled again it won't drop. He suggested that I get my door serviced every year for a discounted price. I will take his advice. Very quiet and smooth now. Highly recommend!!!! read more

I used Action yesterday for the first time and they were excellent. Setting up the appointment was easy. I received a confirmation email on my appointment and the technician arrived as scheduled. The tech, Gilbert, did an outstanding job installing a new opener and repairing a broken spring and replacing wheels. He worked diligently for a couple of hours and never slowed down. I would recommend them highly. read more
