Near here is Rue Crescent, which is a restaurant street mimicking St.-Denis and has those outdoor tables on platforms that jut out into the street. Being near McGill and Concordia Universities, the area has a huge contingent of cool kids and not that dispersed of a demographic. That's probably why I've never eaten on Rue Crescent ... until yet. I'm not a cool kid and never have been. I looked for casual grub on my phone and found Le Warehouse. I also glanced at the menu. It seemed like I stumbled on fish and chips at an opportune moment when they were priced on special. I think of this as the classic dish of the British Isles and, even though I have none of this heritage, it's a dish I very much like and order often. The quality always ranges from 3 to 5, so it's also reliable. The fish and chips platter was very good. Rather than being several pieces, it was a very large piece of cod. For the value received, I was not complaining. The place looks like so many other taverns in Montreal. I was happy to be eating inside. I was surprised to see people eating outside on the street platforms when it was humid and miserable that day. The service did the job, but it was a little nondescript. However, they were busy and I'm guessing they always are. I'm giving Le Warehouse 4 stars for the food and the value that outpaced the service and the ambiance. The food and the value are the main event, aren't they? We ended up being "seated" 45 min after our reservation time at a couch with a side table. For a party of eight. And then bottle service took ages, around two hours after the reservation time we were finally drinking said $400 Hendricks bottle. The atmosphere couldn't decide what it was. You can tell they want to have a great club vibe but the music was all house and terrible to dance. There was no dance floor and it was mostly just people standing around watching others get bottle service. The smoke they piped in, in addition to sparkler smoke made it difficult to enjoy. The crowd was 90% bachelor and bachelorette parties of married people. If I wanted to go clubbing and meet people this would not be a good choice. Oh!! And they bathrooms! Down a narrow staircase with TWO turns. Not enough open stalls nor space for drunk girls to be bathroom drunk. Terrible, terrible design. Overall I would not recommend for food, drink, or atmosphere. It wasn't bad enough I would warn people to NOT come here but it was not worth the hype. We went elsewhere the next night and had a MUCH more memorable and fun time.
