The BBQ Pork (Char Siu) was tender, savory and flavorful. It came with a side of dipping sauce which really enhanced the meat. Some of the honorable mentions were the Soup Dumplings and Shrimp Wontons. The Soup dumplings had extremely thin skin which we really liked. It didn't have much broth but it tasted good. My only qualm is ... It was a bit cold. Later my colleague ( who is from Japan) explained to me a lot of Japanese don't mind their food room temperature. It keeps the rice from getting too mushy or dry. If it's a culture thing I respect that. But I prefer my food warm. And I didn't see it at the time but supposedly the store had a microwave that allowed you to warm up your food. So maybe it was my fault. The free ramen was really good! I would go back for ramen. The noodles had the perfect firmness and the broth was rich. And thanks to the promo I can redeem another free ramen with my next purchase. The jelly is very soft and the ginger simple syrup is very sweet. If anything you don't really taste the herbal grass jelly at all but it does have a really nice texture. I've had my eyes on these coconut roll cookies for the past few months, and this little shop had it! I finally stopped by today and got them for $3! The shop is small but cute, they have many different products here and the price is amazing compared to the other shops in elmhurst.
