the interior of a donut shop

Seriously the absolute BEST donuts!!!! There are at least 3 other donut shops in the area (off Potranco road) but this one is hands down superior when it comes to donut quality and customer service. It's just a simple donut shop, nothing fancy. It's always very clean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The donut selection varies because everything is made fresh in small batches. I've never once had a stale or unsatisfactory donut from here, they truly take pride in their product. My personal favorite is their buttermilk cake donut. It has the texture and flavor of biting into a slice of cake! Oh so good!! The traditional glazed donuts are also very good, they aren't too dense or too airy. The Blueberry donuts are also delicious but they are definitely on the sweeter side and are a little dense so if you have a sweet tooth then I would recommend trying one. My daughter is a huge fan of the colorfully frosted donuts. I've seen them in pink, purple, blue, green, orange, and yellow. They usually have cute colorful Sprinkles or fruity pebbles on top. If you have kids, put a smile on their faces with a colorful treat! They also offer breakfast biscuits, kolaches, croissants, and croissant sandwiches. They have a cooler full of juice, milk, and soda to your left as you walk in. As far as coffee goes they do offer hot and iced coffee as well as cappuccino. I've had a ham and cheese croissant and it was delicious! I haven't tried any of the other breakfast options yet because I'm currently obsessed with the buttermilk cake donuts. I will eventually give this those other menu items a chance at some point. I do plan on ordering a coffee on my next visit for sure. So yeah, I'm a huge fan of Donut Palace donuts. When I'm in the area I make it a point to drop in. I try to pick up a colorful Sprinkle donut for my daughter and a buttermilk cake donut for myself at least once a week. I'm all about supporting small businesses and this one is definitely worthy of all of the support with such yummy product and friendly customer service!

Donut Palace is my go-to when it comes to getting a dozen donuts. The folks that run the shop are extremely friendly, warm, and polite. You can tell they really pour their hearts into what they do and ensuring that you - the customer - are getting all of your donut, pastry, and kolaches needs met. The counter and display cases are clean, bright, well marked, and just overall spotless. The food is always fresh which is evident when you're able to sneak a peek behind the register and into the kitchen/bakery area where you can see them working on the next batch of foods to refill the cases. I like to get a little bit of everything when I come and get a dozen donuts, and they've got something for everyone! Blueberry cake, old fashion with cinnamon, the Homer Simpson donut (yeast with pink icing and rainbow sprinkles), chocolate on chocolate, etc. The shop does take card, but does require a minimum purchase amount which, if I remember correctly, is around $8. Additionally, they have two reserved spots right out front for Donut Palace customers, but if those are filled and you can't find any other parking in the front of the strip, there is a parking lot behind the building. Bottom line, I love this family-owned shop for all my donut and kolaches needs!

Blueberry donuts are so moist & tasty! I ate 3!! So darn good!! The best in any donut shop hands down!!

This place is a hidden gem!! With the freeze we've had we found coffee made fresh, a place where the staff was friendly & courteous. Donuts are amazing!! I had the blueberry. My husband had the apple fritter. Fresh pieces of apple with perfect amount of glaze. Too bad I had only one. I don't live close to this place but I will travel to get fresh tasting donuts & coffee with a smile!

    Sweet side.

What a great business addition to this area! Got here around 6:10 in the morning. I was kindly greeted when I walked in by a very friendly woman behind the counter. If only all business greetings could be like this! The interior was brightly lit and inviting . A small area to the right with several tables is provided for in store dining. Their display cases are divided into sweet and savory, so to speak. Kolaches and warmer items are on the left and donuts/cookies/sweets are in the right display. Originally I had only meant to get some donuts to try out. But when I got in there and saw the kolaches resting in their rows and smelled them, I couldn't resist. Yes, my stomach overruled my brain. But let's be honest, that's usually a battle the brain loses. It may have been my best decision of the day. I chose a jalapeño cheese. Had to attack it as soon as I got in the car. What a great thing it is to bite into a Kolache where the sausage is still plump. Wait, that's never happened before! But this time I had the good fortune of enjoying it the way I have always wanted. The dough around it was warm and soft. The sausage and bread were one. So often you have spaces around the protein. Not here! Awesome flavor and for sure the best part of my day. For the donuts I ordered several, including a blueberry filled. They also had strawberry and lemon filled among others. Had to save that for when I got to work. I could see the color on the bag from where the blueberry was leaking out. Mmmmmm. And mmmmm (for flavor and softness) when I got to work. Had to open that baby up. Talk about generous with the filling, surrounded by soft goodness! Please and thank you! Way to go Donut Palace. I think you will become a regular stop on my way to work. At least sometimes. Don't want to go up a pant size. Keep up the great service and products and you will definitely be around for a long time to come

    16 oz. Iced Coffee

Ordered an iced coffee to go and was amazed by how delicious it was. Went back in and bought another! Was tempted by the donuts but ended up getting kolaches, very yummy! 10/10 service and food, a better quick coffee than any of the chains.

They stuff these bad boys so they're bursting at the seams. On a whim, I wanted to take a break from my current breakfast taco and see what The Original Donut Shop had to offer. I ordered my usual: A potato, bacon, egg, and cheese taco. The bacon was finely chopped, which isn't the way I like to enjoy bacon in my tacos, and it was very egg-heavy. But it was still tasty. The order didn't come with salsa, so that was a bit of a bummer, too. I also ordered a half dozen of donuts, because they were extremely affordable. They picked the flavors for me and as I made my way through them throughout the week, I was amazed how soft they remained. Normally donuts will get a little stale after a day but these stayed pretty soft. The one I liked the most had a maple glaze. In addition to the above, I also got a carne guisada taco to save for dinner later. It was excellent, though I did need to floss my teeth after, haha. But that was probably the most flavorful carne guisada I've had in a while.

Aggressive drivers, anxious shoppers, and every retail worker putting in a Nikola Jokic triple-double. I understand it is a different beast of food service when it is December 24th. Christmas breakfast is what starts off your day before ripping through presents, and this year my parents thought Duck Donuts' Christmas-themed donuts would be a fun change of pace from the cinnamon pull aparts that we normally do. On Christmas Eve, we placed a mobile order on the Duck Donuts website, which requires a mandatory tip to order online, and we selected the ASAP option that said it would take about 30 to 40 minutes. My dad, who was in charge of picking them up, said they were kind of behind and typically that was fine. However, as the donuts were coming out of the fryer, they were immediately decorating them with the icing and the crazy and unique Duck Donuts toppings. When the order was ready, my dad noticed that the dozen donut box was quite hot. Donuts are not usually served warm like that. When he got home to show them to us, all the designs of their gingerbread and other Christmas flavors had melted. All the creams had completely melted. It looked gross. We put them in the fridge to try and preserve them from melting any more, but only so much could be done to salvage them from their depressing state. It was a little tragic. I feel like this is a very rare occurrence from Duck Donuts, as we have had donuts from this location before and enjoyed them. It felt like the fault of Christmas special orders and the rush that led to a breakfast disaster from what was meant to be a special start of the morning. All things considered, the donuts were fine. They tasted okay, but they gooped up in your hands and just felt wasteful. For the price, you would hope they would not melt before you got home. Duck and cover donuts. At first, from the outside, I thought I was walking into a barbershop because of the door, but stepping inside was a fun surprise. The space is really unique--almost like a mini indoor shopping mall.
