Looking around, most of the table tops were barren of plates. Hungry diners' eyes were locked on the kitchen food counter, hoping that the next plate that appeared was theirs. No words needed, their facial expressions signaled frustration and displeasure. The nice lady delivered menus to our table and straightaway warned "We are shorthanded. If you are in a hurry, you should go somewhere else." I thanked her and we left. So, I didn't try the food, but I really appreciate the honesty. I expected to see the Fonz walk in at any moment. It was a blast from the past. Our server, Jennifer, took good care of us. We didn't have to wait long for anything. She was quick, friendly, and professional. I got a chicken fried steak, baked potato and fried okra. I started to get mashed potatoes but I asked if the potatoes were powdered. They were, so I got a baked potato instead. It was a good choice. The okra was fried to perfection and the serving was so large I had to leave half. I liked that I was able to order a small portion of chicken fried steak. The cream gravy is why I order chicken fried steak and this cream gravy did not disappoint. My cousin got the special which included soup, salad, and a sandwich. My other cousin got a chef salad. We all enjoyed our lunch and looking at the decorations. I will stop here again next time we pass through Henrietta.
