a variety of donuts in a box

What's not to like? Fresh made donuts, lots of tasty choices, plenty of hot coffee, and very friendly counter staff. The location is convenient: right off the interstate. My family and I have stopped here on several mornings when passing through Ft. Stockton. The blueberry cake donuts go fast, so snap them up if they are on display.

As soon as I…read morewalked into Eagle Donuts at 901 W Jackson St in Pecos, I was greeted by the sweet aroma of freshly baked donuts and a warm, small-town welcome. The shop is a quaint bakery with a no-frills, cozy charm --the kind of place where you can tell everything is made with love each morning. The display shelves were filled with a huge variety of treats, from classic glazed rings to chocolate-topped donuts and even kolaches (Texas-style pastry rolls). Eagle Donuts specializes in crafting a variety of freshly made donuts with quality ingredients , and it truly shows in the flavor and texture. It was almost hard to choose because every option looked fantastic, so my friend and I ended up ordering an assortment to try. In our visit, we sampled a bit of everything: * Glazed Donut - Pillowy soft and light as air, it practically melted in my mouth. You can really taste that it was made fresh that morning . * Red Velvet Donut - Rich cocoa flavor with a hint of creaminess in the icing. This unique flavor is one of their specialties, and it was incredible - easily one of the best donuts I've ever had . * Sausage Kolache - A savory sausage wrapped in fluffy, freshly baked dough. Buttery, warm, and a perfect balance to the sweet donuts (a must-try if you want something hearty). * Ham & Cheese Croissant Sandwich - A breakfast croissant filled with ham, cheese, and egg. Flaky on the outside, soft inside (see the photo above for reference), and absolutely delicious - a great option if you're in the mood for more than just sweets. Every single item we tried was delicious, and you could tell it was all freshly made that day . The donuts especially stood out for their freshness and softness, truly melt-in-your-mouth good. As a self-proclaimed donut lover, I can honestly say these were some of the best donuts I've ever tasted . The variety is impressive too - whether you crave a simple glazed donut or something fun like red velvet, Eagle Donuts has you covered with classic and unique flavors to satisfy any donut craving . On top of the amazing food, the customer service was top-notch. The folks behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming . You get the sense that this is a family-run place that really cares about its customers. They greeted us with a smile, happily answered our questions about the donuts, and got our order out quickly. Despite being busy (it's a popular spot with locals), the staff remained efficient and attentive. I even grabbed a cup of their coffee, which was hot and fresh - a perfect complement to the donuts . The ambiance is casual and cozy, with a few booths and tables where you can sit and enjoy your treats. It's not fancy or modern, but it is clean and comfortable . The decor is what you'd expect from a hometown donut shop, and it just adds to the charm. I noticed a steady stream of regulars coming in while we ate, which is always a good sign that the place has a great reputation in town. Overall, Eagle Donuts deserves every one of its 5 stars. The donuts are unbelievably fresh, soft, and flavorful, the selection is fantastic, and the people are friendly. It's the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. I've had donuts from big chain bakeries, but Eagle Donuts truly blows them away - one long-time customer even said these treats are better than Shipley Donuts , and I wholeheartedly agree. Whether you're a local or just passing through Pecos, do yourself a favor and stop by Eagle Donuts. I know I'll be returning whenever I'm in town - I might even go out of my way for these donuts! This shop is a real gem in West Texas and has earned a lifetime customer in me.

Croissant Sandwiches are still listed on their menu so I was surprised to find that they no longer serve these per sé, instead offering in its place, their own stuffed croissants. I tried the ham and cheese and unfortunately, it was bland. To call it a croissant is also generous. It had very little lamination, so it was more like a soft dinner roll with no crispy layers. It was also underbaked, so the middle was soggy. Their Kolaches are interesting. I had one with a jalapeño hot dog and it was pretty good, especially with mustard. It wasn't like any Kolache I'd had before so after some quick googling, it seems Southern Kolaches are different! All the ones I've had in the past were round and filled with gravy and minced meats in a flaky dough. These are essentially glorified Pigs in a Blanket, using the same dough as the croissant. My biggest gripe though: Hygiene. One person kept scratching their nose while the other had dirty, black fingernails. And both kept touching the pastries as they explained what they were, no gloves!! Perhaps they were trying to add flavor? TL;DR - Kolaches are decent and good for road trips, if you can stomach the hygiene.

Great items just super bad service, really rude even when they're slow. Can't ask a question…read morewithout attitude being given.
