I've never been to a drive-through beer barn before, but there's a first time for everything.
After the discovery of a Big Bend Brewing Company in Alpine, TX, I was pretty determined to pick up some Big Bend brews after my last trip to Big Bend National Park. Since Alpine is not on the way home, Ft. Stockton would have to do. 5 O'Clock Somewhere is right off the street and near Mi Casita - just pull in and make your selections. There's no need to even leave your car while someone else gets the beer for you.
At the time, I didn't know they had Big Bend Brewing Company and I was just hoping they did - when you first pull in, you just see a lot of the usual crappy American beers and some Shiner thrown in for good measure. Great success, though - they had all of the Big Bend beers! Now I have five six-packs sitting in my fridge. I have no idea how long it will take me to get through all of them, and I'm sure I'll have a little help from my friends, but I just want to thank 5 O'Clock Somewhere for making it possible.
Seriously, though, no one needs that much beer. I have so much beer. Half of a shelf is now devoted to just beer. (Who am I kidding? Pretty much the only thing in my fridge is beer. Party time at my place, y'all.) read more
